In general the lack of vehicle anti-infantry is evident. You do not get vehicles with good anti infantry performance, you do not have proper rocket artillery, you do not have good indirect fire like leig or heavy mortar and you do not have a specialist anti-infantry platform like the Brummbar or Scott. Land Mattress is completely irrelevant and a meme, it's not worth discussing.
Centaur? |
You can put it on ammo or fuel points too, giving a nice bonus and the doctrine has a place to spend them both (arty officer's abilities, suppression loiter and frag bombs or the tiger). Imo 1-2 trucks for this purpose can't hurt in team games.
Also, afaik a deployed blitz keeps cut off territories connected to generate resources, don't quote me on that tho. |
In light of Raid section's design background was to make ukf have a usf rifleman equivalent mainline I kinda agree that they could have had their vickers upgrade split in two, similar to how riflemen can get their bars one at a time. 120 muni at once is kinda lot for a mainline, the only other unit that has to pay this much at once is the usf paras for lmg upgrade, but they are one of the best long range specialists and arrive later. |
no they cant
lol
I know they can from personal experience. Not on their own, sure, but if they follow other mainline units just a few steps behind they usually get ignored, allowing them to stay in fights much longer. |
By the title I thought this thread was gonna address how (non-flamer) pios are pretty much the only unit in the game that struggles to get veterancy, apart from early game. Even sweeper combat engineers can get to vet3 by ease, thanks to their rifles.
If only pios received shared vet for their spotting support or could swap to rifles for free at BP2... |
-double post, nvm- |
I have tested it before and slot weapons are affected too! In fact with a M1919 lmg the suppression speed is very close to obersoldaten suppressive fire.
(The grenade launcher is bad for suppression tho, in case anyone is wondering.) |
what about a combination of Italian and Hungarian forces as one faction? Maybe not realistic but would give more variety
Lol, what would be their flag? A diagonal red-white-green emblem?
Jokes apart, afaik neither had a heavy tank (or something close, like the usf pershing) beyond prototype stage, perhaps they would borrow some tigers? |
Increased vet requirements means less vet for flamers and this hurts SOV more then OST.
There are a lot of questions that are needed to be addressed before making any conclusion. Although there is case that shows sweeper almost brings repair speed of CE and pios to the level of vet 0 sturms/Royal Engineers. But in teams of pop cap and price CE and pios are cheaper. Of course potential utility of sturms and royal engies reaches beyond repairing and sweeping, especially this applies to sturms (no cries for nerfs, just to be clear).
It would be minor and only to compensate for the increased vet gain through shared vet. |
Eastern front sweeper engineers are the only utility units left in the game that is not meant to participate in combat, yet doesn't receive shared beterancy. I mean look, every officer (even tho some of them can take very good care of themselves), halftracks (even tho some of them can be upgraded to be very relevant in combat), the kubel and now even the M3 scout car receives shared veterancy. Western front enginners can grab AT weapons to quickly gain xp.
The sweeper pios and CEs are the only units left in the whole game that has trouble getting xp for themselves.
I still say their vet requirements should be increased a bit and grant them shared veterancy. |
