Lol you do realize that I am on the community balance team working with Relic? And that I can definitely assure you that we do not take any tournament's results as an absolute measure for balance? As I said - tournament results are indicative at best.
I hear a lot of people assuming USF tanks are lackluster, what they dont say is when and why.
USF tanks are meant to be part of a group of units, they are not designed to 1v1 solo axis tanks, thats why shermans are cost effective. The downside of this design is that raises the ceiling of skill and micro tax of all USF commanders.
Currently the micro tax for USF players sets up a skill gap, not all players are able to overcome it and use a small fraction on the units true potential, therefore their feelings about them are what we see each day in the forums. In other words, USF is one of the most skill demanding factions, this makes each single unit lackluster compared to axis counterparts.
Before anyone tries to spit my argument, axis skill gap is based on solid decision making and unit preservation. Going further here is offtopic.
CP + Tech is working for heavy tanks. Why not for other vehicle callins? (Like Hetzer or Mobile Defense Puma)
The shock aspect of those units (hetzet, OST puma, S76) was their main attribute. This could be used as a quick reaction unit.
The call in design is just a way to add variety, it sure had some exploits because it articulates the tech system.
Its just a way to keep things simple, to have no tech bound call-ins, otherwise all the affected units should have a considerable MP cost discount to make up their new added tech investment costs.
I didnt really dislike the call-in medium tank meta, it was the heavy tank call-in the most problematic.
S76 was clearly a call-in tank, hence why it was mediocre. As it is now its an AT/AI upside down compared to standard shermans, they have an edge on AI and S76 have a little edge on AT. If you can pair them and micro them well you get a nice firepower/utility/cost ratio.
S76 are not spearhead tanks though, those are the most valuable for allied overall, USF not having real heavy tanks always depend on logistics and good support to push back enemy lines. Riflemen also do the heaviest work there. If E8 got firepower adjusted and armor buffed it could become a worthy spearhead tank.
competitive wise S76 are to be paired with either jacksons or other tank. The bonus the S76 grant as a unit is adaptability and better reaction to enemy openings.
And what is your rank? I want to know which player is telling me this. Your words do not coincide with reality, in the tournament I hardly saw Scott, but in almost every fight I saw a stuka.
Oh, maybe you play with stronger players than players in the Masters Cup?
Oh the irony...
Well, good luck in your selfish rant against a topic no one has trouble with...
Dont worry, only you saw what you saw in that tournament, other people perspective is just trash compared to yours...
Edit: sadly its a L2P issue you dont know how to avoid a single wstuka barrage
How biased and not objective are the players okw. Really? Does Scott cause sudden damage to static vehicles like a stuka? Still with that range? Answer this question pls.
Tell this to VonIvan, who lost his stuart from firing a stukas when the stuart had almost 70% health. It was in the Masters Cup. What do you say to that? Could Scott do that? Do you want me to send you this video?
I will step in to anwer your question.
There are 2 different ways of attack in all games. Surprise (ambush) vs Assault. In the latter you just go b*lls deep into the enemy, they see you coming they react to you. In the former case the surprise makes each and every single hit as effective as they can, but be warned, you could have avoided the damage if you could have see it coming.
In other words, wstukas hit hard and precisely, yes, but they are far from being infalible.
On the other side scotts are more reliable, infantry and light vehicles even after seeing scotts hardly avoid a well microed ground attack, the smart choice for the axis player is to retreat instantly (at least wstukas have a cooldown between barrages)
