(and no one can fire a PTRS unless in prone position)
I can assure you that's quite incorrect, there are YouTube videos of crazy slavs in the Ukraine doing just that. |
I meant G43 pgrens
But the obsession with four men = bad has to end. The only major issue was old gren indirect wipes and mines. Both fixed years ago |
Let's be honest katitof has a point. When the patch hits ostruppen will be in a better place too with that reinforce and capspeed. Plenty of axis doctrinal inf that are fiveman or more
So let's stop the crying about four man squads, something Brits and USF also have |
I imagine it's too late to resuggest a swap of brit and axis tank commanders eh? Where the British one gets arty strike (ahem decorative base howitzes sitting there) and the axis gets the increased accuracy plus return the increased vet speed (all okw commanders with it embody the veteran armour trait)
Then British tanks can be balanced without the idea of "what about the extra accuracy they can get by default with literally no alternative option at any point of ever!" and axis tanks have a much more attractive alternative to the pintle: actually getting them sweet late levels of vet...
If faster vet on the commander was judged OP enough to be removed from UKF then why would it be balanced on OKW with uber vet on panther etc.
Current OKW commander already increases lethality more than the Brit one |
Fully loaded Vickers K gun with full ammo is about 14.5 kg. No way in hell you’re firing that thing while running with any accuracy without training on it for months.
For comparison I’m actually pretty strong and tall and when I was in the greek army we did some fire and manuever with the 4.5 kg G3A3 and it was a bitch to fire on the move while trying not to fall over because you can’t pay attention to where you’re stepping all while you’re trying to manuever the gun around.
Too long didn’t read: Nobody can fire on the move with accuracy unless the terrain is good. Humans can’t multitask. Therefore the way you use the gun needs to be 2nd nature to th point where the weapon is an extension of yourself so that you can both fire accurately and move around, therefore training with your specific gun is extremely crucial to learn how it handles and behaves.
As for the game and back on topic, I agree with Katitof that it’s probably intentional since firing on the move is so difficult if you’re going for it you at least need a gun you’re familiar with and can manage. A foreign gun you’ve never used before is gonna surprise you with recoil/handling/spread etc and you’d probably waste too much ammo trying to learn on the spot, so I agree with the game not allowing elites to fire foreign weapons on the move.
This is a good point, and some interesting perspective from a serving soldier (thank you for your service in NATO btw)
However we also have obers running around with StGs and giant infared battery packs like they're nothing. Interestingly enough I watched a forgotten weapons YouTube video on a similar US pack used on iwojima and Ian the host said all WW2 packs were lugged up to defensive positions then used somewhere like a forward defensive position to see at night. To heavy to use otherwise. |
IMO they are really far from game changing. Slight reinforcement cost plus speedier capping won't change gameplay much especially because cons are now 7 men and get a reinforcement cost reduction (last patch) together with the package. USF inf has always been capping faster if I'm correct. Don't be scared. They are still 4 men squads and ostheer was really bad last tournament.
Tigers that were their only saving grace got nerfed.
Looking at the fact that there are only 2 axis armies, sth needs to be done to make ostheer better to make people choose them over OKW, especially in 1v1.
Cheaper everything and 25 percent capping for every squad will change a lot. Realistically the only squads that should need a buff is ostruppen and grens so their utility role is expended in the late game and they still have a place capping in support.
Four men squads mean very little when G43 already eat 7man cons for breakfast. If all squads get the same buff it makes grens/ostruppen pointless, all you'll need late game is elite post infantry with a couple pios. |
IS 2, Pershing, ISU-152, SU 85, Jackson, Firefly. Tiger is easily countered by vehicles which costs considerably less than itself. An IS 2 will meanwhile win against JP-4, Stug, Panther and Tiger.
All this while ALSO having higher anti infantry damage, as well as being supported by more effective infantry and tanks.
As of 1.3 with the armor nerf jagdpanzer can kill a croc or IS-2 faster than a FF can kill a tiger or KT
This is due to faster RoF, go test it if you don't believe me. |
This is a worldwide pandemic we're all affected. I'm currently in isolation. There is no need to get offended by something as far reaching as this, the spirit of this cup is to get our mind off things with a CoH2 tournament, that's as far as it's linked.
I totally understand that and your good intentions here. But I imagine twitch not taking kindly (Many youtubers have recently become demonetized due to name-dropping corona in some completely harmless videos).
Think of it like naming tournament the AIDS cup, sure the intentions might be good but the naming is kind of raw.
|
AE I love your work but perhaps we could think of a more suitable name.
If you're really intent to link this with Corona virus then perhaps some sort of side donation to charities helping those effected in Italy, China etc wouldn't go amiss. Just my two cents |
I would like to see them get two different arty call ins, one a mortar shell call in to counter team weapons early game and some sort of expensive late game overwatch AT arty call in.
Let's not just nerf it into major artillery and throw them on the nerfbin |
