if you give every faction every tool you have to nerf everything else what does a faction unique, just copy&paste ostheer 4 times and call them okw, usf, ukf, sov
it is absolutly pointless to think about, if you dont like coh2, quit
I do like it but I liked it a lot better before they nerfed my Brits into the ground. I'm shocked they haven't beaten USF's AA HT and Jackson with the nerf hammer too. |
Supressing infantry with MGs is exclusively an Axis ability now. |
Does anyone remember what that was like? I wonder what it would be like now if the maxim, .50 cal and Vickers didn't suck and could actually surpress infantry. Right now that ability is only for Axis. |
UKF sucks against both Axis factions but that's what the Wehraboo community wanted so that's what we get. OST just needs to spam HMG42s (you know, a functional MG) and mortars, OKW just needs to spam infantry since 90% of their models either have or can be upgraded with automatic weapons and the balance team was nice enough to nerf all the Allied MGs into the ground preventing opposing players from controlling effectively those blobs. |
Well the first step to fixing Brits would involve reversing every. Single. Change made to them during the Spring balance patch. |
Not teching to Major was incredibly efficient. You could go both Lieutenant and Captain, getting the full suite of tools and both combat officers. You'd also save a ton of fuel in the process, allowing you to rapidly amass critical mass of M10 tank destroyers.
It was so good it choked out the other USF strategies, so the M10, the Flame Hetzer, the Ostwind and the KV-8 got tied to tech in DBP.
Lend Lease's M4C Sherman got tied to tech the patch before that.
Again so what. USF got a full tech tree, plus could amass a cheap and effective AT unit similar to the STUG III, that almost sounds like they'd be on par with OST Heer! Can't have that! |
It's tied to Major because if it isn't then you don't have to tech Major if you go Armor. Before DBP that was one of the dominant USF strategies: tech LT and CPT for a full suite of support weapons and both combat officers, then unleash the M10 Horde. They used to be amazing at crushing infantry too.
So you didn't have to tech to Major? Yeah and...??? The problem was what exactly? Oh right we have to placate OST heer with everything we do because that's the only faction that's supposed to matter. Silly me I keep forgetting. |
Late game vehicle only spam was a problem, which was fixed by increasing pop cap.
You aren't really supposed to have 3+ panthers or comets.
That makes it a lot less fun when you're working with smaller armies. Is that going to get fixed? |
Uhm no, he is suggesting it should be exactly like OH's Stug and Panther, with the M10 serving as a cheaper/intermediate TD to counter light-medium tanks and the M36 to counter heavy tanks or TD's. Which makes sense because right now the M36 is great against literally any vehicle which removes any reason to ever get an M10 instead.
This is because the devs didn't leave it as a call in. If they hadn't screwed it up by requiring you to tech to Major and then build it at the Battalion CP it would have a purpose. |
Very disappointed with the pop cost increases last patch, it especially hurt Brits. New pop caps should be as follows:
Firefly - 14
Comet - 16
Churchill - 14
Jackson - 14
Sherman - 10
Pershing - 18
M8 - 8
Panther - 16
Tiger - 19
Brumbar - 14
Jagpanzer - 12
STUG III - 8
It really sucks when they up the pop on units so you're left with like 1 TD and 1 Sherman, hate that crap so much. |
