The issue with 120mm is that you have no way of countering it and 120mm counters leIGs, HMGs, AT guns, infantry fighting in cover, static buildings like tech building for OKW and so on, while OKW has to go mechanized to at least pressure the 120mm, because you need to kill 4 models to at least decrew that thing. With OST it is all bad, because Werfer is an RNG cannon and is very inconsistent if you fire further then 60..70 ish meters, so it is not even worth for OST to try doing anything against it, unless you go LeFH, which is a less then desirable solution at least for me.

I think 120mm is so good that the single mortar might outperform 2 leIG

Tbh it hits everything very accuratly. At least in 3v3\4v4 its a meta for a soviet to spam them. Imo it would have been some what alright if not the fact that it comes with 6 models, and to decrew it you need to kill all 6 of them.

With its raw damage, its impossible to counter it with your own mortar, not only because 120mm outranges and outdamage you, but because it can outsit you. This only allows it additional aggresive placement, making it even more accurate.

But over-all I would say that it performs somewhat on a resonable level, but it survivability should be tonned down drastically, to be 4\5 men and decrewing with 1 model left like other mortars. Considering you already have better range and damage, there is no reason for it to be almost immune to other inderect inits and hard to decrew.

This and the fact that almost all of the best soviet commanders comes with it.

Im playing OKW most of time, and I see a lot blob in usf and ukf, and less from soviet.
They all blobing allies and axis. with soviet you have counter with zis, demo charge and so on.
other has too but its soft counter


Mg can easily die from bren or bar if they are not in green cover and they are slow to rotate and pin. they just need to move one troop to other side.

double mg is the best counter to blob in early game. but still this not good. you can break game easily with spamming every thing, infantry, tank, arti ...

There should be bad punishment for blobing unit like that. not just soft punishment.

MG and other think are soft punishment. they need a lot of macro to handle a blob.
Its not fair blobing need no macro, and you need to macro everything to handle that if you dont want to blob.
