1. Conscript are going to make your manpower bleed -> less units on the ground
2. AT nade is so fuel expensive that it's going to make you very late on the armor race (first one to get light tank get a freaking big advantage)
3. You want to skip T3 because you got conscript AT nade and a few penals ?
conscript has been badly balanced (or not even balanced at all ?) by relic, in every single case it's going to put you on disadvantage if you get conscripts.
Just focus on the poorly balanced units (penals / pzerfusiller / ...) and abuse their OP cost effectiveness like everyone else do, that's all coh2 is about.

2v2 win ratio when will people understand that these stats means nothing. As tightrope said, the best way to know about balance is through tournament and luvnest beating hans with USF is clearly a sign that USF is not so weak. If you compare it to the WPC tournament, where it was DEVM vs the spanish dude (don't remember his name), it was basically the one who had allies faction that would win the game. it ended 3 - 2, with every single victory when playing allies. It was not the case at all during the GCS tournament. EDIT : i say it again but in my opinion, balance forum should be locked only to people with rank < 100 in 1v1, it would prevent people like OP from making trash thread. In: COH2 Balance |

yeah sry for the 28 mp reinforce cost, was wrong. still, i made some game with soviet to refresh it and penals still don't look OP to me because of their versatility. one mg42 in the right building is enough to counter 2-3 penals, not even speaking of the bleed from osther sniper with its insane rate of fire. usually, when making a penal opening i found that my opponent had number superiority (more squad) on the field which in good hand was devastating. When speaking about unit cost, i always talk about cost to reinforce (that's what really matters since you buy an unit only once but you got to reinforce it much more often). So speaking of rienforcement cost : Penal = 6*28 = 168 Volksgrenadier = 5*25 = 125 Penals cost 34% more to reinforce -> 5 penals = 7 Volksgrenadier.
Only one squad of conscript in a penal horde ... still got to spend 50 fuel to unlock "tovs and anti-tank nades" for a single squad, which will often not be at the right place to save your ass. PPsh conscript on the other hand actually manage to out DPS volks at close range, but they will always loose from 2 to 3 model until they get close enough and so will still loose. I agree with you that coh2 is globally not balanced at all, but you can't say that on the few units that have been tweaked by community modding team. Take a look at the EFA revamp mod if you are looking for balance, or just leave coh2 for another RTS better made. In: COH2 Balance |

Your tactic make me believe that you are mainly playing 4v4/3v3, can you confirm or either post your playercard ? I'm asking that because balance is not the same at all in 1v1 than in team games
Well, you would be surprised how was MG34 1 year earlier, before relic buff it .. people still managed to supress ennemy blob with it so now it's quite good.
1. as i stated in my previous post, penal cost 33% more than volksgrenadier (reinforcement cost) so you got to test 5 penals squad against 6,75 Volksgrenadier which is roughly 7. 2. Penals are far from being as "all rounded" as volksgrenadier, you can't use penal to clear house thanks to their flame grenade, you can't faust ennemy tanks, etc .. Penals are specialized anti infantry units and so should be better than generic infantry. In truth, if you want to stick to volksgrenadier, you should compare them to conscripts. And let me tell you that a conscript squad will loose every single time, at any range to a volksgrenadier squad. there are a lot of counter to beat easily penals ( MG per exemple) Since the penal have been heavily nerfed, i believe even their sprint ability got removed so you can pin them down easily. You tried to compare penals with some okw (doctrinal & undoctrinal) units, and found that penal beat volksgrenadier ... well, they are not the same price penals = 6*28 Mp = 180 MP Volks = 5*25 MP = 125 MP So basically, penals should perform for their price 31% better than volks. This said, penals don't have Flame grenadies / Panzerfaust / STG44 upgrade and infiltration nades. There is not a problem with penals, only with your lack of knowledge. In: COH2 Balance |
