Thread: Conscripts need to be balanced15 Aug 2017, 01:25 AM are there people on this topic actually saying that conscripts are underrated ? capping power is a good point, but once your conscript squad get demolished by superior and not reallly more expensive ennemy squad, then your 'capping power' is back at base to reinforce when the ennemy can capture your territory. There is really no way people can say conscripts are fine, you got to be mad to say such things. In: COH2 Balance

In CoH1, you could just grab a cut off point or sit on a high fuel/muni point and stall for armor. This made camping certain parts of the map more rewarding than actually moving out to capture territory. It was ridiculously hard to make come backs and almost a guaranteed loss if you could not decap the fuel. CoH2 encourages players to actually run out and cap territory instead of trying to lock down 1 area with a MG. Of course this is completely different when it comes to team games. this is also why coh2 is much less tactical. In: COH2 Gameplay

The amount of money spent is in Yen on the report. 3 500 000 USD is around 100 times more in Yen, so 350 000 000 Yen. There is not mistake with "," and "." Anyway, we all saw how rushed has been this game : the beta was short, the graphics and animation are cartoon style (less expensive to make), very few content (only one game mode), etc ... No need business report to understand Sega didn't spend a shit load of money on DOW3. Among many Sega is known to not invest much in projects. Its been almost a model for success for them. Not a bad thing at all, its actually rather impressive what they accomplish with very little. Look at Alpha Protocol for example, for the budget, that game is really amazing for what they did. For comparisson not the best looking (as for me) Supreme Commander had $10 million budget. So, all the limitations and strange (stupid) game design dessisions are the consequences of a low budget production. Sega has given not enough money for full value siquel. I believe even if relic went to crowdfunding for new DOW3 game they would recieve more money from W40K players. But Sega owns the franchise and owns relic. So there is no hope in this perpective. Good news for thom who like it and bad for thom who dont like it - Dawn of War III is commertially succesful game with 270,000 copies sold. Incounting that the averange worldwide price is about $35 (in the worst case) income be at least $9 million, IDK about tax rates but I'm sure it's more than twice or more of budget after paying all the taxes. In this case people who believe that Relic is about to making COH3 is extremely naive, because it's absolutely unnessesary, they can milking DOW3 for years. Thread: 2v2 automatch maps balance feedback [POLL]4 Aug 2017, 16:11 PM crossing in the wood doesn't favor only axis, in 2v2 on this map with brits, one bofor can lock half of the map and get protected by some mortar pit. So yeah, i know that bofor and mortar pit require huge skill to micro #LELIC but this map also favor the brits and brits are on allies side. Didn't noticed who made this poll, but this is not relevant at all. Most issues come from which side you spawn on the map, not which faction you took. In: COH2 Balance

It's gonna be 1 con squad to merge or at nade things. so you believe that one conscript squad with AT nade is enough ? When an ennemy tank appear on the map, i bet that 99% of the time your single conscript squad will be at spawn reinforcing or fighting somewhere else. IF the conscript were descent, we would see much less penals because conscript offers a fast map capture and got some strong ability (oorah, molotov, AT nade, merge, ...) that penal don't have. They also give the opportunity to go T2 and so get a soviet AT gun, which is one of the best thanks to its barrage ability. It is like saying that building armor is risky because there are AT guns in the game. FRP doesn't have cost efficient counterplay ( katyusha, pzerwerfer, mortars, etc ..) It should have been removed from the game ( i wonder how someone at RELIC could even find that as a good idea ) but this very small nerf isn't going to change much. Ever give to all faction a forward retreat point or none to everyone because that's the kind of thing you can't just justify by "assymetrical balance", at least in team games. it promotes the use of blob and give an unfair advantage on retreat time -> so broken that nothing can fix it. Because german tanks are better? I need a double spam compared to allies squads for be like a starcraft killer. And need be super careful, covers and move positions constantly for dont get ripped. When allies can forget a squad with red cover for couple seconds with no problem! This problem of gameplay is since game launch, with wermach too. They put weak armor for german infantry cause tanks are a way better for the nazis. Soo this game is all made for balance it balance that, and forget all tru aspects of war, tactics, positions, covers, firearms, equipments, tanks, rng and calls its better than tactics, p2w rip the game. Like 128mm gun worst than 88mm for infantry, what fock, if they kill a tank, why dont kill a infantry when the 128mm shot down on the foot??? LOL! Balance! And dont forget about gps mortars... Soo boring. I hope for sudden strike 4 dont be a crap arcade engine like that. RIP coh2, and coh3, will be like this too i think, call of duty fans will love !!! Allies OP, nerf Allies. Thread: Usefulness of assault engineers?3 Aug 2017, 23:49 PM technically speaking, assault engineer are going to bleed your MP way too fast in early game and so i didn't see any so called 'coh2 pro' use them. But i believe that since Coh2 units are so well balanced you could find a way to make them usefull in mid to late game, by upgrading them with flame (which is something that USF lacks) and also by laying down cheap mines (which is another thing that USF faction lacks). Just avoid buying them in the first 5 min. About the crew thomson upgrade, i have this too not seen many people use it since crew member have a high hitbox and thomson are a close range weapon, they will get rekt before they manage to get close enough to their ennemy. better keep them inside their tank.
