Sucks for the competitive community, but they've solved that by making them very cost inefficient without instarepair assemblies. In: COH2 Gameplay

PTRS Penal at vet 3 have more DPS than penal vet 0 so they are not "next to useless against infantry". Could've sworn they got 3. I must be misremembering WBP. They changed so many times during that. In that case, 66% DPS. A little more respectable, but it means losing their 1v1 advantage which is why you build them in the first place. I might use them a little more now. In: COH2 Balance

It's got a similar gun to the Firefly. The Firefly is a long range tank with a very slow fire rate. If it's not leveraging its range, it'll lose to a standard medium. The Panther's fast, has good penetration and bonus health, but awful AI. It can't snipe, but doesn't lose to enemy tanks if a brawl happens. A Panther-like Comet would have the same. In: COH2 Balance

Conscript and Penal PTRS rifles are next to useless against infantry. You only get the multirole PTRS on Guards and Shocks. Furthermore, as PTRSes are transferrable, the SVT models always go down first. In: COH2 Balance

I'd rather have OKW Flaks than the Bofors. The problem UKF emplacements have is they're such a high investment. Bunkers and Flaks are much better designed: they don't cost much to set up, they're quite easy to destroy, but they force the enemy to send sufficient forces to knock the bunker out. Static defences are meant to slow the enemy so the army can respond, not to be an army unto themselves. The emplacements that fit this model (flaks, bunkers, et cetera) are useful but not frustating. So long as you respect them like any other snare unit, you should usually be fairly safe. you can walk on most maps around a corner/ view blocker and satchel tanks, can slow them with guards on max range, at nades from cons or other ressources (teammember) or you can use mnother russia from sprint on any squad and reach even fats mediums easily and satchel a high cost tanks away like a fly. Can't any snare squad do this though? Once a vehicle's snared, you mob it with AT and kill it. Throwing a large number of satchels at it is one way to do it, but it's not like there aren't a load of other similarly easy ways to kill a snared tank. Furthermore, if you've converted enough Penals to AT duty to do that, your infantry AI is going to be terrible. In: COH2 Balance

Also that is what firefly's are for. You'd have to drop the AI to Panther levels, yes. If it's got solid AI and solid AT with a little below Panther durability, it's a Pershing. As for overlapping with the Firefly, I don't think it does. The Firefly is a very slow firing, fragile sniper tank. Snares have done a lot for it, but it's nevertheless a sniper which'll lose to a medium tank at close range. Even the Cromwell is better off in a brawl. A Panther Comet could coexist with the Firefly in the same way the JP4 and Panther coexist. If anything, the Panther is favoured over the JP4. In: COH2 Balance

Its supposed to be middle grounb between cromwell and tiger/pershing and its not there. Its AT isn't that bad, but its AI is. What I meant is if you boosted its anti-infantry abilities and left its AT abilities alone, it's competing with double Cromwell/Centaur. If it's less efficient (like now) it's a deadweight, if it's more (like it used to be) then UKF will be looking to tech up and start building Comets instead of Cromwells. If you make it an AT brawler tank, then it's got its own niche. In: COH2 Balance
