In CheatMod testing they seem to fire simultaneously as it takes the TD a moment to acquire a target. On the first part, all of them. It takes six shots to kill a Panther, four shots to kill a TD, and the Panther has similar reload times (~5 seconds) to the SU-85 and Jackson. It'll absolutely clobber the Firefly, which takes eight seconds to reload. Yes, if it's defended by snare infantry and AT guns you can't do that, but the whole isolated comparision breaks down when you bring the full army in. In: COH2 Balance

Giving the AVRE/Croc 1400HP would make them overpowered, but giving the Churchill Mk.VII 1080HP would make it a piece of shite and would remove its only role (soak damage for the TDs). I don't think it's such a big issue for the Churchill variants though since they are easy to distinguish from eachother. The KVs and Panthers needed standardization because they all look the same. You wouldn't just change one attribute. An HP buff would come with an armor nerf. An armor buff would come with an HP nerf. Thread: Churchill Durability4 Feb 2019, 14:53 PM The Churchill has 1400 HP and 240 frontal armor. The doctrinal Churchill variants used to be the same. Prior to DBP, all Churchills had the same durability: they're exactly the same tank with a different armament. However, for some reason the team behind DBP decided to change that, making the doctrinal Churchills 290 frontal armor, 1080 HP instead. CoH 2 is a game largely 'played by feel', with most of the stats hidden from the players unless you look them up online. Therefore, it's important that the performance of units doesn't differ wildly from the expectations other units set up. If it wants to rely entirely on visual language and player experience to communicate unit performance then it needs that visual language to be consistent. CoH 2's come a long way in fixing these inconsistencies: the Churchill Crocodile and Churchill now have the same damage on their identical turret, the KV-8 and KV-1 now have similar durability, the Panther's been standardized across factions, et cetera. So why this step backwards in DBP? Why make the Crocodile (a tank with less armor on the model) have an unaccountably higher armour value? Why make the AVRE and Crocodile both blow up two AT hits faster than someone used to Churchills expects them too? If it were an oversight I'd get it, but it's clearly deliberate: I just don't understand it. Was it a scope issue and they fixed what they were allowed to, or did they genuinely think it was better that way? Anyway, should this be fixed? Should the three Churchill variants go back to having the same durability as each other, or should they be different despite the game not communicating this to the player in any way? In: COH2 Balance

Or is that just some sort of bug/oversight on that graph up there? I'll go test it. EDIT: The Vickers does fire at 40 range. However, the unit responds to attack commands based on the Bren gun, so if you issue it an attack or A-Move order it'll close to 35. This is probably for a best, given the Bren provides the bulk of the unit's DPS. In: UKF Strategies

That's some serious firepower too: at 20 range up it's got better anti-infantry damage than the Luchs. Optimal range for it is about 20 metres, but below Range 35 it's got pretty flat DPS. Thread: UC Vickers-K Downgrade?3 Feb 2019, 19:33 PM From Cruzz's DPS file, accurate to the previous patch. The Vickers-K upgrade to the UC does the following: Gives the UC +5 range. Gives the UC a timed suppression ability. Improves the UC's penetration. Flips the damage profile over (the Bren UC does more damage at longer ranges) However, it seems to be substantial damage downgrade. The UC's usually fighting at max range because a snared UC is a dead UC. But if I've understood this graph correctly, the Vickers K upgrade cuts its long-range DPS in half. Am I missing something here, or is the Vickers upgrade a bad call if you're using the UC to inflict damage? In: UKF Strategies
Thread: Raketenwerfer3 Feb 2019, 01:05 AM The Raketenwerfer is unit notorious for somehow being both awful to use and awful to play against. As the OKW player, you've got an AT gun too short range to use defensively that dies whenever you look away from it. As the OKW player's opponent, you've got invisible AT guns A-moving towards your tanks and retreating when you catch them in the act. However, the most recent patch has given a good example of a light AT gun done well: the Soviet M-42 rework. What do you think of reworking the Raketenwerfer to be like that? No retreat, but 60 range and some sort of anti-infantry ability? In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Servers Seizing Up31 Jan 2019, 20:49 PM Tried playing for the first time in a few days today, and I get getting freezes followed by input lag. Mentioned it in the shoutbox earlier and some other people said they were getting it too, so it sounds like it's server side. Anyone else getting this? In: COH2 Gameplay
