Hey, a quick and (a bit sad) update.
I was offered a pretty decent summer job as a programmer, so I started to work there. Sadly, I'm afraid that I won't have enough time to focus on this update project at the moment :/
Nevertheless, I will restore the old coh2chart.com back as soon as Relic fixes their side. When I have time, I will do the update
Good on you mate!
Dont worry about this place, it will still be here once you return |
Even before the game came out, the frontline network did a 1v1 tourny that showed how OP clown cars were so 1v1s were never balanced.
As for your specific example, it is Relic's poor implementation of asymmetrical balance. These fundamental systems need to reworked which is one of the reasons why they never touched it; it is too hard to pull up the foundation and rebuild it. Look at the DLC factions. USF is a prime example of shitty asymmetrical balanced: No T0 mortar (until miragefla got it in the game), No non-doctrinal mines (besides m20 that doesn't last past 20 mins & on a weak tier), no non-doctrinal late game arty, no non-doctrinal late game armor, no non-doctrinal flamer, weak AT gun, weak handheld AT, ect. Firstly you can't go every commander in the game so you're going to be lacking major tools in the toolkit. As for the asymmetrical balance, Germans have the best armor, AT guns, and handheld AT shreks. Germans should have the best armor while weaker AT and allies should be strong AT and weaker armor.
Lastly stop looking at Relic & CoH2 to disprove what every top tier game & esport is able to achieve. Obviously balance wont trickle down in CoH2 since they can't even get balanced enough as is. LoL, Overwatch, SC2, DOTA2, Smite, ect all have very balanced games at the competitive level as well as very popular games for the casual audience.
Goood. Gooood. Let the butthurt flow through you.
PS: This is a way of saying the world dont revolve around you.
If you didnt like something so much, why bother staying with it?
Its like me staying with my abusive ex and then complaning to all my friends she beat me with the spatula |
I have no idea how to use the world builder but please:
No frozen water (semosky winter), no deep snow (kholdny ferma winter), no mud (general mud), no excesive amount of red cover (halbe), no red cover outside the base exits (crossroads), no extra stragetic points (crossroads), no more than or less that 3 vps (prypiat sector, the castle map with 5 vps), no unbalanced vps, fuel and muni locations (almost every map), no buildings in the cutoffs (litteraly every single map), no urban/industrial maps (dusseldorf, gelserkirchen refinery), no super large or small maps (montargis region (large), crossing in the woods (small)), no minsk pockets 2.0, no road to karkov 2.0, no heavy building maps (arnhem checkpoint). Please i beg you.
The map wont win, trust me, im not the only one that thinks in that way
Wow, you must be SUPER fun at parties...
@ Soup, wish you best of luck mate!

This is my personal opinion, but if YOUR internet sucks it is YOUR problem then. If you play a (ranked) online game, make sure, your internet is working fine before.
Yeah nah.
I encourage you to go Outback, play 25 games WITHOUT disconnection, then we can have a chat.
While some of us live in a first world country, our internet is more or less 4th world.

What is frustrating is that blizzards, mud/heavy snow, and ice all could've been great additions to the game, but they weren't fully fleshed out before implementation.
Blizzards could've had whole different effects and timing than what actually occurred. Soldiers freezing to death on retreat wasn't great.
Heavy snow and mud would've been beautiful if pathing could've taken it into account and it were more interactive. They way they were put into maps were primarily visual and didn't account for gameplay, resulting in tons of heavy snow/mud smearing arbitrarily across maps.
Ice should've been just fine as is, except that there was no variation between shallow and deep water, which resulted in tanks phasing through solid ground because their front tracks touched ice. Ice of otherwise passable water should've just resulted in... water when broken, not lovecraftian pits to the void.
+2 on this post.
I loved doing an unsuspected push with a full halftrack and a light tank during blizzards.
It was oh so satisfying if pulled off properly
This guys get it.
Concept of blizzard was fine, implementation and execution is what failed.
Removing cost of firepits, mortality on blizzard but keeping the debuffs. More interaction with heavy snow (like clearing with flame sources or vehicles and re-appearing after blizzards) and ice (maybe more resistant during blizzard?). Not so random duration/appearance. Potential was there.
It would've been cool if you also had snow pattern equipped and then hold fire on tanks... Basically the enemy will just pass you by, thinking the tanks are part of the decor, and the BOOM! Surprise buttrape

I think also that weapon teams like mgs and mortars need the ability to vault.
+1 on this one.
But then how will you execute a well thought of flank?
About donnie vs soldier
Snip
Why are you adding fuel to a fire we want to put out?
Thats not nice of you wouren....
Wins what exactly? A cookie for being a troll on the internet
You only keep thinking and seeing things in and through your little competitive bubble and ignore everything and everyone else, which is a bad idea since the casual community is bigger than the competitive one.
You people are partially what brought the downfall of this game and I am glad you don't infest CoH's community anymore.
Have a nice day.
+1 on the bubble thought.
Mods and forum owners, please, can we get an ignore button or function for particular people?
Chan's public flaming of Soldier (who actually contributes mind you) will have been avoided simply if Soldier did not see his posts.
Mate, I admire your resilience. I would've told him to get fucked a long time ago.
On topic, IMO vaulting was added late in the production cycle simply so COH2 would be different from the first, much like the snow storm mechanic that we know everyone loves.

I think the reason why so many people play the German factions is because its taboo. The idea as playing as "the bad guys" in any game that lets you is appealing to a lot of people.
So going by your logic, if I am playing Rising Storm 2: Vietnam and play as the Vietnamese, am I playing the good guys or the bad guys?
On-topic:
Come on - that's just not accurate.
At all other points Axis have been undeniably stronger in larger team modes, and commonly there has been 70%+ searching as Axis.
The mass market will gravitate to whatever faction they think is most powerful and most easy to use.
Clearly you've never been on a receiving end of a 4v4 Axis losing streak of 10, have you?
As long as emplacements remain, Allies will always be OP |

That explains it.
I tried googling to no avail.
Thanks for the reply Crecer |
The fact that the USA's population was many times bigger than Germany's didn't help either. I disagree with your statement that the allies didn't fight though. D-Day? Battle of the bulge (no air support and dwindling artillery supplies, especially in Bastogne)? And bombing was only uncontested because the allies established air supremacy after the Battle of Britain and the Germans had to rely on ground-based AA for the rest of the war.
Another thing to consider is that the Germans didn't have to invade Russia and the Japanese didn't have to bomb Pearl Harbor. They both screwed up bad there.
Another another thing to consider is that maybe they should've just stayed away from fascism. That tends to get a lot of people angry at you.
Not to mention all the scientists that defected to the US.
Had High Command been convinced of the advantages of rocketry, and dumped the resources in nuclear research, chances are we wouldnt see the heavy tanks we have today (jagh, tiger, elefant), and Stalingrad would be a massive radioactive hole by now. |
seriously this is just a huge axis nerf under disguise of compensating wiht useless and mrsmith is known allied fanboy before relic made him offer dont know why cruzz or any other weren;t
Cruzz has been absent for some time now.
These changes are not happening because of bias, they are happening because they are needed, for the sake of the long term health of the game.
Yeah sure "needed".
If they are "needed" they would adress the most cancerous subject first: the British.
Patch looks solid. So many right changes. Unfortunately I dont have second life to play games. Panther buff is questionable. Heavies buff can also be wrong. Mediums are already quite bad vs them.
You dont have time to play, but do have time to shitpost on the forum. Right, got it.
And that's why WBP and march (it was march right? I don't remember anymore) balance patch both nerfed mostly allies.
While a tank destroyer remains to have a counter infantry ability (see crush), to me, the argument of nefring mostly allies is void.
