Thread: Coh 2 and VR2 Jul 2016, 22:13 PM Indeed. I was talking about this a few months back. Would be a cool use of VR. THe map laid out all in front of you and you can just look and move around it. No scrolling necessary unless you want to. Those kinds of things should be easy mods for games with custom resolutions and better underlying engines... but coh2 is feeble in that regard. In: Lobby

Problem with this is that OKW has the most pathetic support weapons for combined arms. Raketens get instant decrewed by anything really. They fall into enemy hands very easily and are then retreated. The ISG cannot retreat like a mortar so it is also very easily decrewed. The Mg34 is pretty poor. No comparison to the other mgs in the game. That is your support weapons. Then the mainline infantry are fragile. The pioneers are fragile and expensive. The elite infantry are also very fragile until you vet them. When you put everything together, and add in the multitude of superior allied artillery strikes, it's just a very weak combined army that never really holds - which is why people whine about playing combined arms with the OKW. However, in order for this to work, the community (i.e., each individual member) need to leave their biases aside and promote changes that improve strategic diversity/quality of life/enjoyment for all factions. e.g., check some of the changes proposed by Firesparks. I agree, but unless relic allow mods in automatch which I doubt (and I can't see how that would even work), then I think all these hopes for good features are just futile pipe dreams. They have been reluctant to do anything to this game ever since ESL ended and Brad and Cuddle were dismissed. Now they leave us with a buggy broken unbalanced shell of a game. In: COH2 Gameplay

Sure, USF T0 mortar is a huge gamechanger, but I am sure we can iron this out by nerfing stats appropriately (that of the mortar, and potentially that of the Riflemen too). However, I don't think we can ever truly salvage the atrocity that is known as the Mortar Pit. - If we nerf stats -> Mortar Pit is a never-build unit (due to its static nature) - If we nerf/remove brace -> Mortar Pit deleted (same reason) - If we delete Mortar Pit -> no reliable garrison-clearing/indirect fire for Brits At some point the USF Mortar will be fixed, and then we are going to come back to Emplacement-spam cheese. Then, we are all going to wish we were fighting the USF mortar, instead. Unlike the mortar pit, you have a reasonable chance of wiping and stealing USF mortars with your infantry. Brace needs to gtfo, and the only way to achieve this is by replacing the Mortar Pit with something else. Let's all just be quite honest here though. It took the skeleton at Relic almost a week to fix 4 lines of code (and they failed). I think it's safe to say NONE of what you suggest will ever be undertaken. The whole point of its existence is for it to be T0. If it was to be anywhere else, it could be just as well removed again.
