You beat it by exploiting its relative anti-infantry weakness, not by building the things its good against. That's the Elefant. Nice theory but it completely wrong. M36 can be disembarked in which case the total pop is 8. (even when crewed M36 has a pop 16 so the total is 32% not 40%) In: COH2 Balance

But yeah arming 4 or 5 models with Thompsons for that price might present a bit of a balance problem. The standard Enfield or tommies is extremely bad on the move. Thread: New Commander Submission - Discuss7 Feb 2019, 14:40 PM Jump back to quoted post7 Feb 2019, 12:03 PMSander93 I would imagine Assault Tommies as an STG44 Volksgrenadier-like upgrade to a normal Tommies squad that gives 2x (3x for 5 men) Lee Enfield and 2x Thompson and removes the cover mechanism. This would allow UKF to field more aggressive infantry that have improved near and mid range and moving DPS over regular Tommies and keep up the pressure rather than having to play defensively. I don't think UKF needs another dedicated CQC squad when they already have commandos. 3 Enfield +2 Thompson would make Tommmies too powerful at all ranges. Thompson are OP weapons designed for a specific faction. In addition the moving penalties of Tommies are very high and would make the squad have to low DPS on the move while to high when stationary making their performance inconstant. Finally mixing bolt action and SMG should be avoided, its not a good mix. In: Lobby

A dedicated assault section, a new call in squad that can upgrade to a assault section or just an upgrade package for the regular IS. Whatever they do is fine by me as long as they properly embody the idea. Of course there is also then the factors of what would be the more balanced, practical, less time consuming and less complex way of implementing it among other things. Giving SMG to Tommies is not a good idea since they are using the cover mechanism. In addition SMG and Bolt action rifles should not mix. In: Lobby

And also they give volks the stg44 update. So actually, 2 volks squads with stg44 update had the fire power of one grenadier squad and one panzergrenadier. For me, I would rather see they change the price of volks to 270 or 280 MP to better reflect their multiple roles. Actually VG's K98 have a damage of 12 which is the same as conscripts. The damage of 12 lead to over kill since it take 7 shot to kill a model with a total damage of 84. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Raketenwerfer7 Feb 2019, 09:07 AM Jump back to quoted post6 Feb 2019, 23:28 PMthedarkarmadillo but there is not point in even bothering playing a numbers game to compare the 2 as they are incomparable due to costs and techs. the most they have in common is that they shoot at tanks and sometimes the zis can cloak. it would be like comparing combat engies and obers because they are both 4 man infantry squads that are at the mercy or armour. there is no point in even engaging the comparison. id lose the moving cloak, slap an extra model on the rak and try and fix its infatuation with shooting the ground. i dont think the okw need a proper AT gun (especially from the word go) when they already have so many AT options, and were even given a snare. I was not the one comparing the 2, I simply pointed out that RW is a problematic ATG and that it is not superior to zis. In: COH2 Balance

Also, reducing their already pathetic DPS will just make them that much worse as a starting unit, and making them even worse with Zooks would really be a terrible idea honestly, as they're usually the only squad you want to even put zooks on since putting them on any other unit will reduce DPS. BARs on RE isn't really an issue I've encountered, nor do I ever find it useful to invest ammo in BARing up a RE when you can give them Zooks for much needed AT. I agree with the other changes though I guess. RE get a big accuracy buff at vet 1 (x1.2). In addition the weapon replaced is worse. 1 RE+1 Bar riflemen have less DPS than 1 bar RE+1 Riflemen. And yea RE spam was a problem: "Rear Echelons We have scaled up Rear echelons up slightly to reduce spam. Rear echelons cost up from 160 to 200 Rear echelon rifle damage up from 8 to 10" In: COH2 Balance

Than pls remove them completely and make something new. Something like 6Man double LMG Many times I have pointed out that the timing of units like Penal is problematic. Units should be balanced around grenadiers and in order for that to happen VG need to be weaker so that they do not overwhelm Soviets. In: COH2 Balance
