Does that make laying on the ground statically an assault type move, or ppsh is now long range defensive weapon?

Sprint allows Pg to use their camo more aggressively then simply wait in ambush since they can close the distance and still benefit from increased accuracy.

The analogy with hit the dirt is simply of mark. It also inaccurate since can be used "aggressively" Conscripts can sprint to close in and then use hit the diret to reduce received damage or avoid being pinned. It is not an optimal combination but can work in some situations.

It also has little synergy and it also should be removed from package.

I am not arguing semantics. The term infiltration units is used for unit that have a specific way to enter the field. That is by spawning from ambient building. The term is used of unit like Partisan, Airborne guards, ST, infiltration Commandos.

Unit that enter the field via air including paras and commandos use a different mechanic.

Pathefinder are a reckon unit but their camo is not as good Commandos to navigate the field neither is partisan (a unit with secondary role reckon also). There are more than one types of camo and Commandos have one of the best.

Its called "ambush camo", not "assault camo". PGs with camo are not infiltration units.
That being said, ambush camo is extremely strong on them.

Although the ability is called "Ambush Training" (not ambush camo") someone had the bright idea to bundle it with sprint so it the ability has become more aggressively oriented. Sprint should actually be removed form this ability.

In addition Commandos are not infiltration unit either, they either enter the field by air or build in HQ glider. Infiltration commandos are separate unit.

Commandos camo is way too good since their detection radius is small and the are actually one of best reckon unit since the can move in late battlefield undetected.

Guards don't deal well with HMGs and can't touch snipers.
HMGs and snipers work against any other elite too.
PGs running into guards from around the corner will murderfuck them.

Guards are superior vs sniper than most other elite infatry since their high pop and PTRS with range of 40/42.5 give the less of an range disadvantage.

The problem with commander is dual, there are abilities that need some changes and their commander with high overlap.

Advanced Warfare Tactics

General:
Decent commander over shadowed by commander that come with T-34/85 and better secondary abilities.


Suggestions:
Radio Intercept
A good ability also available to Armored assault tactics making overlap in two abilities.

Possible changes change the color of letters from the ability allowing player to identify the info easier and or create a separate log where the player can see this info. Possibly change it from passive to timed (at no cost) or provide info for a single enemy player at the time by clicking in his units or base.

T-34/85 Medium Tank
One of the most cost efficient medium tank in the game.

The unit could have a small increase in full by 5 and a slight decrease in MG DPS.

Ram should be removed and Secure mod replace by ability better suited for main battle tank. Possibly a flank speed or aggressive maneuver" an ability target size for a sort time.

It vet bonuses should be toned since at vet 3 it has a ROF of 3.94 it currently get slightly better vet bonuses than the much weaker T-34/76.

Conscript Assault Package Upgrade
A rather "confused" ability that includes a weapons upgrade and a the defensive ability hit the dirt. The upgrade should come in line with other upgrades and take up a weapon slot.

First one should remove hit the dirt from the ability since it does not mix well. Hit the dirt should change from toggle to timed making player have to use tactically.

The PPsh upgrade has some issues that need changes. The combination of bolt action and PPsh has little synergy and allow the unit to retain high close DPS even when losing models.

In addition the current change of mobilize reserves allow the PPSh conscripts to trade cost efficiently.

At this point imo the best solution would to replace the upgrade with CP 0 call in unit "assault conscript" unit coming with 6 ppsh and DPS adjusted to be similar to assault units. Unit could have a HE not snare and similar to other such unit.

Conscript Repair Kit

A good ability that has become too good with 7 men upgrade. 7 Conscripts repair about the same speed as CE with sweepers (and also available with KV-1). Reducing the number of repair men to 6 would be enough for this ability .

L-2 Sturmovik strafing run
The ability is simply UP compared to other AI strafe. The CP is too high. CP could go down to 6-8.

Another change that might help this kind of abilities is giving them high incremental actuary making these ability better when used against massed enemy formations.

The combination of PPsh and repair kits is available for 3 soviet commander and could be changed in one of them but probably it would be better to be removed from a KV-1 commander

its not that simple though. lots of things go into a unit, cost and timing is one of those. you can buy like, 5 IR-HT for the price of a single su85. the higher the cost, the more points you have allocated into the unit. so 80 sight may we4ll be OK on a non recon unit but not ok on a recon unit simply because of accessibility. again, i dont thinkl the su85 should self spot, but this is as apples to oranges as it gets.

pathfinders are also recon units, and they don't see 80 range, because theres more to it than job.

Since in you opinion the SU-85 should not be able to self-spot it is fine by even if you do not agree with one of my arguments.

The su85 has no ai to speak off.

Most TDs have little or not AI also.

Tracking revaels inf on the minimap a unit it cant hope to fight by itself.

Tracking shows infatry and support weapons including Paks even beyond their max range, as an icing on the case it even show cloaked units like sniper.

This is an ability suited for reckon vehicle not a TD.

It also extends sight yes but popping on focused sight during tracking stacks vision forward but slows it down meaning you cant chase or escape as well as you cant just switch it off imedeatly. At best it allows you to get an extra shot off and reveal some inf on the minimap, nothing game breaking.

That is not a very accurate description of the ability and an "extra" shot can make quite all the difference.

One can use tracking without focus sight on. Then one not only get info about the position of infatry that can snare and paks but also provide 360 vision even on the move allowing the unit to basically self spot for extended range.

One can combine focus sight and tracking and get extra vision than most reckon vehicles.

All other td's have something unique besides their vet. Su85 has a secondary ability at vet 0 like most soviet vehicles. Just because its a td doesnt make it a or a good reason it should loose any abilitie it currently has.

The ability does not fit the role of a TD and combination of the 2 abilities is simply broken.

If the unit actually need something although is great TD (and imo it fine with having "focus sight" as timed vet 1 ability) it can get an ability that is better suited for a TD.
