In addition argument that that the game should be balanced only for top player does not really make sense for a number of reason: 1) 90% of commanders would never be balanced because they are not used by top players 2) game would be balanced only 1vs1 since the majority of tournament where stat exist are 1vs1 Deciding at what level one want to balance the game is simply choice so the word "impossible" does not really fit this case. Not really. One should decided on benchmark commander for each faction and try to bring as many commander as possible to that benchmark. In addition there are simply some combination that simply should not exist and Ele/ISU stuka/Il-2 are some of those combos that should not exist. Even adding a 7th man is different from adding pure DPS, or just decrease their reinforcement cost by another MP with T4. Not all of these are good but at least try worthy instead of pure DPS and reinforce their original role. Soldiers from conquered countries in eastern Europe were in active front line combat and not only used for guarding of logistics and upgrisings. To add to the options one could give me them AT rifles. If one wanted to go for combat stat then one should go durability instead of damage output or one could make them good at certain condition like when in garrison. From a design point of view turning them into grenadier ver2 it is not a very good solution. In: COH2 Balance

We're having a small community dev team with limited resources and possiblities that creates balance patches in their free time on the good will of the actual game developer that generates minor income from this game. We don't have a fully trained dev team that tries to milk millions after millions from their game. By all means it is impossible for CoH2 to balance around all skill levels in all modes. Saying it is "logically impossible to balance the game around non optimal skill levels" does not make sense. One can prioritize what one wants to balance and depending on ones resources one can expand to other areas. In: COH2 Balance

It is logically impossible to balance the game around non optimal skill levels. There's no consistent unit strength if players don't at least approach optimal play. Casual player A may be really good at using snipers while Casual B sucks at it. Are snipers strong or weak? You just have to assume the most optimal usage of a unit that is still realistic. Although it seems to me that any solution is going to be inconsistent. Ambush camo upgrade suddenly replacing their Faust with a lower range version doesn't make much sense either and that would also be an exception because it gives nothing special to PGrens and HMGs etc. And replacing entire abilities like others have suggested seems way too harsh of a nerf for the commander. The concerns from players here have been noted though so we're having another look at it. Actually the issue with the faust is more related to the camo/sprint combo, a combo that should not be available in the first place and was actually created the MOD team. Both camo/sprint and PPsh/hit the dirt combos should not have been created. In: COH2 Balance

So again, irrelevant. And they are perfectly in line with changes that happened in game over time. Time to accept and cope. Exception only confirms the rule. Plus, AT partisans aren't exactly potent compared to [insert a unit with AT snare or AT weapon that isn't partisan here]. Oh, and AT partisans do not have 4 detection range either. Grenadier are not AT squad and you keep comparing them with PTRS conscripts and AT partisan. You seem determined to go down the rabbit hole, claiming things that are simply not true and I am not really interested in following you. In: COH2 Balance
