I sort of of hijacked the "Looking at the USF" topic as well because of the lack of a British mortar. But my idea is to bring awareness to the issue not derail the topic. Anyhow I think that since all of these topics are addressing similar issues talking about them in any of them is alright I guess, I mean you can't really go around with the ban hammer forcing people to stick to a given topic's issue when they're all sort of related to one another so to speak, it's just human nature I suppose. I've had a lot of talks with strangers that started with "Oh excuse me for bumping into you" to basically "So yeah I'm looking for a new job now". In: COH2 Balance

Maybe the sexton is going to be better now that its getting buffed (If i remember correctly). If they are insistent on not adding the mobile mortar then a pack up for resources back is almost necessary for the faction. I don't see a problem in implementing Planet Smasher's Artillery Pit, at least just for testing purposes. Their mortar pit model won't go to waste and won't be put in a doctrine or whatever and the Brits will have a more balanced and practical mortar which is proven to work. Apart from that tho the Land Mattress costs fuel and is slow, and is pretty easy to take out as I've experienced. While the Sexton is in a basically team game commander that no one in hell is going to choose or at least call in a Sexton in a 1v1 or 2v2 since they're small maps and you're already spread thin and low on manpower as a Brit. The other options for a doctrinal mortar were to add it to Arty Regiment to make the commander useful in small team games or give it a mortar HT, the mortar which was added to the air resupply operation for Tac Support Regiment and the new commander coming out around on Christmas having a mortar team as well. Apart from that I don't see which other doctrine could be given a mortar besides maybe Special Weapons (to replace the Tank Hunters?) but it's sad that we're trying to think of ways to fill commander slots with something that can be done much more easily and with less headbutting, commander slots which could be used for something else entirely. It can still inflict game changing damage/give massive advantage at start. You aren't doing much SPio rushes by the mid game, expecting them to roll over whatever squad you come across, yet it works at start. That's how shock units work, they hit the field, they hit you hard, you get a counter and their potential is diminished. It couldn't attack anything in any way. It can now AND it can suppress under a circumstance. Its also cheaper/affordable. And you are still not happy. No early game light vehicle below light tanks is useful in the long run and this one is not supposed to be replacement for 251, if you need reinforcement, get 251, not 250. The Kubelwagen was the OKW's only non-doc suppression platform, at least in the early game, something which you might be forgetting since you aren't seeing the bigger picture. And the 250 is a doctrinal Halftrack, so I don't see a problem of giving it a little bit more utility in the form of the ability to reinforce when locked down. And cut the crap about "being doctrinal doesn't mean it must be better", it's taking a commander slot in a 5 ability doctrine, it's supposed to be worth a damn. In: Lobby

Super mobile HMG that can not be suppressed and is backed by strongest CQC unit in early game that can also keep that HMG indefinitely in combat, helping to easily cut off opponent from resources until they get actual AT or more expensive and later coming light vehicle. If you want to swing "history" card, please make sure you actually are aware of how the history went. If you don't see benefit of a unit and don't deem it worth getting, then don't get it. It'll have a role in capturing and holding cut-offs in early game. There are couple of halftrucks in game which provide suppression and fire support for low-ish cost and have to be immobile for full benefit. This one needs to be locked down for its suppression, because its the only one in game which happens to be able to transport infantry as well, so a tradeoff needed to be there to keep it in check. And is viable for like what, the first 5 minutes of the match? And I don't mind the trade off but the problem is that it also happens to be in 2 other doctrines as well and being an an Armor MG on tracks is certainly a big improvement compared to it's previous state but I still don't think it will be as useful in the long run if it can't reinforce while locked down as well. No stat abuse there and yet you would be totally destroyed. Now tell me how much can you know about ballance, if whether your unit wins or loses depends only on the micro difference between you and your opponent, or in your particular case the stupidness of the AI? I'll tell you: nothing at all. Only the players who play on the same, highest level, where every slight mistake or stat difference makes a real difference can know anything in that regard. And even they have way too little data to use for improving ballance. Just accept that. If they can take the most underpowered unit composition then why were USF and UKF the least chosen Armies and at the same time the Armies with the least wins? In: COH2 Balance

You clearly know how to get there and there is no logical reason why you wouldn't be there with that awareness. Want an example? So you think that to be good in this game means abusing stuff? That's just a very silly statement to put it mildly. The reason they are good is because they know how and when to use any given unit\ability , read their opponent and know how to react to any given situation. The reason they are silent are probably 1. they don't see a point giving any feedback since probably no one listens to it on forums 2. they already did give it 3. their opinion is considered to be worth just as much as anyone's therefore it doesn't matter. And the reason their feedback is more useful: 1. they know factions in and out 2. they have years' worth experience 3. they are very unlikely to be biased since they play all factions very well. Any monkey with half a brain can do that, they are just more in depth that's all, and I admit that. Further more on your second point is that it's bullshit, it's fairly obvious that the community team are listening if they've implemented many community suggestions in the revamp mod. And lastly, I have been playing CoH since 2006 and I doubt most people on here have my experience, plus I have modded both games and have a pretty good understanding on how something works, what's possible and what's not and how to implement it. So being famous and understanding the stats and ways of playing aside I don't see why their opinions should matter or be put all above else. In: COH2 Balance

I can't see what the hell has NKVD to do with partisans, and what good can't possibly come out from yet another 6 men ppsh doctrinal unit with a completely different weapon curve and whatnot. A light suppression platform that is less viable than an MG and also scales less. Don't you wonder why Kubel was made a capping vehicle instead of the same failed mobile suppression platform? Halftracks are only good for transporting, shielding and reinforcing infantry and their duties end there. The only saving grace is upgrades. So once again I don't see a point in a lightly armored unit that needs to lockdown in order to suppress. It's better off just reinforcing infantry and being a "Panzerschreck bus" albeit with a single squad inside. In: Lobby
Thread: What about snares?30 Sep 2018, 13:12 PM I agree with you but sadly this is how things are, the game is geared towards the more competitive E-sports scene which I also believe lead to Dawn of War 3's fall instead of being geared towards the more casual and more numerous historically aware fanbase that just wants a simple immersive WW2 RTS game to play instead of StarCraft 2 set in WW2. Thread: "balancing" discussions are ALL pointless30 Sep 2018, 13:08 PM Your "pros" have absolutely zero understanding of how the game works apart from stats and how to abuse them, which is also fairly evident from how little they have posted in the commander revamp feedback topic as well. And lastly, the reasons why UKF and USF are underperforming and are less picked are fairly obvious in their design flaws and don't require an APM God computer like multitasker to acknowledge. For one reason or another tho Relic only wants to address around 50% of the UKF's weakness and that's about it. In: COH2 Balance
