Grens are the cheapest stock infantry in-game, they cost 240 and get their upgrade for free along teching.
That's how it is, that's how it has always been, yet OP is still trying to push through their own idea over others (calling other people's stories a myth) refusing to accept other people's approach over their own.
I don't know why you create a new thread because you disagree wrongfully with other people's comments.
|
I have read the whole thread, and in all honesty, what's the intention of it? It feels more like a rant than a discussion, and OP is actively avoiding any points made by anyone who posted and disagrees with OP. Other people's posts and concerns were really well put across, and just binned by OP as it challenges their point of view. Also, other people pointed that out too, so it's not just my personal feeling. The threads reads a bit like a blog, with plenty of points and rants that are just plain wrong and OP not seeing the many parts, which were pointed out, that OP is wrong.
What do you want to achieve with this thread at this point? Is it just nerf Soviets but packed in colourful wrappings? |
Here is a little and game stat from a preview game.

19 kill and 652% efficiency
Now feel free to install the game, use the RO.E and prove that "are very bad in actual combat" as you claim.
In all honesty, these post-screen stat efficiencies are pretty useless, and people post them usually for jokes. One good flank with any unit, and suddenly the game decides that it is the most useful unit and the player of the game. Of course, you're going to get high efficiency with the unit since you don't have many other units built either and fully focused on getting these stats high up for the unit. From what it stands even the AT gun seems OP, as it was considered MVU by the game. So, yeah, post-game stat screens are useless, and a pretty much of a joke in any balance discussions. Now if you had a replay or even some good gameplay moments as a video, that'd be different. |
Conscripts and grenadier have the same cost the both cost 240 rest is smoke and mirrors.
They are completely different units, one has a stronger vet and different upgrade paths. And there's more separating the units, including the army composition. You can't just casually ignore facts you don't like and calling it smoke and mirrors.. |
I suggest you test them (as I have) vs other units and see how well the perform.
Do you mind providing these replays? It'd be great seeing them being OP in action. Thanks.
At this point, you have no evidence, you refuse to provide some, and you are just pure theorycrafting as many others have pointed out. |
Vipper, you're the one insisting and claiming that the unit will be OP so you should show us that it's OP. Yet, all you showed is theory crafting that an end game unit has a chance to be useful at its actual job. So far, it reads that UKF is generally getting the short end of the stick, as shown by experienced UKF players. I'm maining OST and I can already suggest that UKF will be overrun early by my ULV, their loss of map control, and their loss of abilities. |
There's nothing wrong with UKF getting buffs. Everyone tells each other to stop theory crafting but everyone is theory crafting.. Let's see the changes in action. I still think that UKF has been neutered heavily with the IS and 5 fuel ULV nerfs.. |
Good thread, but I really don't think that the idea of nerfing and increasing costs to everything else to lightly buff one unit is a good approach for the game. Also, the delay would be minor and not change much at all, or be any beneficial. Keep the fun toys and fun things in the game, don't delay them any more. It's better to play around the ram ability and buff the T34 slightly than creating an everlasting negative gameplay balance loop of nerfing everything to appreciate other units more (which wouldn't be the case at all). The TD nerf is unwarranted. Why also fix a factions weakness?
Edit: wait what? You want to lower the power level of the Ostwind by buffing it? What's that for a confusing and obfuscate way to ask for buffs for your favourite factions.. |
No need to come up with excuses where there are none. The ram was originally conceived as a countermeasure for the Tigers and Elephants, and at some points, in time it was the only countermeasure against them. Ram + ML-20. Let's make it so that for example smoke from tanks (German smoke grenades, Sherman smoke mine, Cromwell smoke projectile) can only be used with 50% HP, and your excuse will be perfect to justify this - The ability was always meant to be a last resort instead of the first choice.
That was exactly the case, but in my opinion, it's better to keep away from any intended game design of CoH before 2016. The first few years of the game was really weird and totally messed up. |
They will be weaker; patch after patch after patch all the fun stuff in every faction gets removed or nerfed to death. |
