Well at least you still have 3-4 guys left by then. I assume you haven't played against a USF mortar?
Played, and a lot. Didn't find much differences with other mortars. It insta-wipes, do it often, but it's ain't rare for other mortars. For example, I played right now and Ostheer mortar insta wiped my soviet mortrar, by insta killing 5 men... Does it mean, that ostheer mortar is OP as hell and needs to be nerf? Not sure.
And when I played against USF mortar it wasn't big problem for me to counter it. Specially with LeIGs. |
Yeah but UKF doesn't fight the most accurate laser guided and fast firing mortar in the game. UKF also doesn't have to fight mortar pit that can quite often insta wipe mg teams.
You know, ostheer's mortar direct hits really often causing death of 3 or 4 models in Maxim squad... And Ostheer mortar can be very accurate too.
It's all about random. |
Try retreating sooner.... problem solved...

Yea, when you see enemy coming - instantly press T! 100%, you won't lose your unit in that case |
dushka and 120 will lead you to the victory
Make them non-doctrinal and everybody will be happy. |
see like I said you bring Soviet in post they are not even counted
I knew, that you will mention it, so I did it for fun
And really - B-4 for 20 popcap is normal? I just didn't want to make new thread for that. |

I can say, why it is not used much - because it is doctrinal. For same reason, Panzers 4 were not used much by people, who played as OKW, when they were doctrinal too.
I agree, that T-34-85 is good and decent tank, which would perform well as main medium tank of USSR in stock in T4. But... in stock we have expendable tincans, calle T-34-76, and worthy 85 - in few doctrines.
My opinion - T-34-85 should be stock, in T4 for same price and T-34-76 should be either doctrinal cheap analog (like M36 and M10), or removed at all and changed to something more powerful. |
1.) Then 2 DP-28s/2 PTRSs upgrade for cons at vet 3, pls. You just can't buff infantry, which performs well right now, without buffing their "mirror" in another faction. And since your improvement fixes their balancing weakness "glassy" - cons fix should affect their balancing weakness - "firepower".
2.) What for? Universal rounds > different. ISU experience proven it...
3.) What for again? LMG-42 performs way better. And besides - we have some ohter factions, which would get some benefit from "non-doc" weapon upgrades, you know...
4.) Slightly up rate of fire for IS-2 then. Tiger is just fine balanced tank, with all medium stats of heavy. Medium range, damage, penetration, HP and armor. It may look pretty weak, but actually that tank performs very nice.
Only improvement, which I possibly see is adding in T4 some kind of analog of "Knightcrosses" from vCoH for very high price. It doesn't mean, that they should be same immortal as crosses were - it just should be pretty powerful, but expensive infantry for late, like Obers, but maybe for CQC.
In everything else - Ostheer are absolutely fine faction, equiped with almost everything you need. Only infantry is in bad shape, but I guess it's deisgn feature. |
Notice how successful VonIvan is playing with maxims still? Especially since the grenade range reduction and the changes to help reduce the death loop.
Maybe you need to change your approach or practice more.
Well, he maybe playing succesful with them now but again, I already used that example with 2 soldiers. You giving to 1 soldier normal combat rifle, well designed for killing, and other gets dildo, which is... less designed for killing but if you can "adapt" and use your creativity - still may be deadly. And when second asks "what a hell, how should I kill soldier with rifle with that?", he getting answer "theoreticaly, it's also maybe used for killing, it's not designed for that, but we don't care, they both can kill, they are balanced. More difficult to use it - adapt, L2P".
So - people, who using Maxims "good" and calling that "good HMG", are actually people with dildos instead of normal weapon, which adapted and learnt how to use it as weapon. More than that - they started to belive, that it is actually good weapon. While "rifle soldiers" don't need to adapt or learn or do something at all - just put teh button. Of course, it sign of their great skill and good gaming abilities, that they learnt how to use such shitty weapon good, but... does it make those 2 theoretical soldiers equial (balanced) with each other? No. They have different starting conditions, which balances after by skill of players, not by game mechanic itself. |

Dude... PaK 43 must be able to shot through buildings, understand it pls.
It dies very easy, costs a lot. Without it - it won't be worth building and getting at all.
17 pounder can't shot through buildings, because it is way more survivable, so it can be placed at underfire positions and used in that way. If 17 pounder would be able to shot through building it would be OP as hell. And it actually can, with ability, If I remember right...
Anyway, I remember also times, when Elephants and Jagdtigers could shot through buldings. That was really OP, so good that it was fixed. |
False, a Maxim can be suppressed but still suppress a 42 and unless the Maxim is completely in the open or barring gunner deaths, the MG 42 will generally reach the pin state first as the cooldown penalties hit the 42 harder as the Maxim has shorter cooldowns between bursts.
Maxim can't supress big blobs, unless they don't stand right nearby each other. Same MG-42 can catch with supression unit, which is even not under fire and out of fireing range, but stay a bit close to target under fire. That's what I call "Crowd control".
Ability to cause supression under supression is also not that relevant thing. Such as 6-men or whatever else funservice. |
