Thread: Emplacements currently8 Apr 2016, 21:48 PM Truth is that emplacements are pretty much zero-skill noob weapons that require no real micro to use at all. Being static, they should be countered by any sort of artillery, which would be fine. Makes sense that zero-skill noob weapons are easy to defeat. High-skill British players have (or should have) other options. Problem is that Relic decided that emplacements should still be valid at a competitive level and therefore chose to buff them to a point where they're clearly over-performing for their cost. Yes, emplacements can still be defeated, but doing so requires a disproportionate amount of firepower relative to their cost. EG: two Stukas/massive numbers of LeIGs. Meanwhile British players can roll out Cromwells when you've put all your resources into 100 fuel Stukas to counter his 30 fuel Bofors gun. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Firefly VS Panther7 Apr 2016, 23:07 PM Panther is better in a vacuum but I'd argue that it struggles against numerically superior Allied tanks (Cromwell/M10 mostly) thing as its damage output really isn't that fantastic. Firefly meanwhile performs well against better armoured and generally more expensive Axis tanks. In: COH2 Balance

The problem is that the Panzershreck, as it stands right now, allows OKW players to get pretty decent AT for no fuel and no real manpower. This means OKW players don't really have to think very much about dealing with most Allied vehicles, thing as there's a soft-counter readily available. Ostheer by comparison, must invest significant amounts of manpower in either PaKs or Panzergrenadiers to get early and mid-game AT. And, unlike Volksgrenadiers, Panzergrenadiers with Shrecks are pretty terrible against infantry. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Best OKW doctrinal Infantry?6 Apr 2016, 10:09 AM Three notes: 1: PF snare is pretty unreliable 2: JLI take absolutely forever to vet up. In my entire history with CoH2, I don't think I've ever seen a vet five JLI. 3: If playing vs. snipers, PFs are the best. Yeah, you can try to ninja snipers with FJs or JLI, but that doesn't work most of the time. Cheap six man squads with good sight and damage at range are the way to go. Also, I think I'd rather have another Sturmpioneer squad than a squad of Fallschirmjagers. They're much cheaper, have way more utility, and perform about the same-ish. In: COH2 Balance

Ostheer is the best designed and most balanced faction imo. No overperforming units save the Sniper (not vs. Soviets though) and probably Ostruppen. It's just that the other factions have issues.
