i dont think coh2 has servers? i'd imagine input delay is largely a factor of who you're playing against/their location/internet speed. |
i think the major logic flaw here is assuming that all factions should have equal bazooka/panzershrek options.
keep in mind that okw doesnt get a decent AT gun, it does ok, but in reality the only thing its good as is having a retreat function. those panzershreks are their basic way of dealing with tanks. Besides that their main option is a puma, then in the late game they can go for a panther.. So they really have like 1 infantry at option and 1 vehicle at option for most of the game.
when the ostheer puts panzershreks on panzergrenadiers, it turns that squad into bassicaly an anti tank team which is expensive to reinforce. they can still get kills but they'll lose out on fights consistently against infantry if they arent backed up by non at squads. IMO its better to get the pak unless its a very urban map.
bazookas have different factors going on for them. if you put them on a riflemen squad it doesnt impact the riflemen's squad as much as it would the smaller axis squads. though most people would opt to put them on rear echelon which are cheap and dont really have an infantry combat role anyway. On top of that USF gets atleast 1 bazooka squad for free essentialy (if you go LT, you get a free bazooka squad with your utility car, if you go captain your captain gets them). on top of that, their at gun.... is not all that bad. if you use its ability itll do some damage, and it has a pretty decent firing arc.

I wish theyd pan out more with some of the stuff thats new in coh2.
For instance the airbourne drop mechanics are really cool. but it only affects one faction with one particlar doctrine. It'd be cool if fallschirmjagers were exposed to similiar mechanics in how they deploy (and be affected by blizzards to). Also they should make it so other air based abilities alter their affectiveness based on if theres infantry providing sight etc etc
I also wish theyd work on blizzards some. I feel like blizzards as is, are just a neat idea they had that they realized didnt work too well, and they just keep it around because it was a major feature on release. They could still make it work with further tweaking I think. For instance if they made it so troops can survive longer in blizzard conditions, it wouldnt feel like you have to go in to "fireplace hopping" mode when a blizzard comes up. And there could just be more interesting blizzard play, like using the limited visibility to attack heavily defended areas. sneaking past MGs is much easier if they cant see you. |
units wont auto attack another unit if they or their target is in smoke. thats the main function of it. |
On top of that:
- map balance (worst issue right now if you ask me)
- too unreliable (grenades sometimes work, sometimes they don't)
- performance (even worse lately than usually)
- small playerbase (lack of advertisement, competetive events)
- a clear goal: what does CoH2 want to be? what are the goals for the future?
- bugs
- extreme cases of rng (mines wiping out whole squads, sometimes just one model, abandoned vehicles)
- DLC system (no equal opportunities for everyone. commanders / bulletins and such. Latest example: access to 10 % increased Rifle vet for Ardennes Assault)
actually mines are not RNG, if you put a mine in the same place and a squad walks over it in the same formation itll do the same damage everytime. |
i think its hilarious when people are like "how did the most expensive soviet unit wipe my entire infantry squad?!?!!" |
i think theyre fine as is. Theyre not supposed to be a frontline killing machine. Relic cant force people to stupidly walk in front of an MG. Theyre supposed to act as a trap or as a small obstacle, forcing your opponent to use munitions and/or slowing down an advance to deal with your obstacle.
HMG might only not seem effective because one of the first things you have to learn to do in coh is how to counter an HMG crew. |
i dont think you can really plan a build order past your first 3 units or so. You have to re-act to whats going on in the game, you cant just stick to some arbitrary build order and hope your opponent just builds stuff that can be countered by your pre-planned build order.
Only reason there is to discuss a STARTING build order because for your first few units you have no idea what your opponent could be building. |
i dont understand why people drop a game just because theyre losing. "sniper spam" will always be unbeatable if you rage quit each time someone brings a couple snipers. You have no game experience playing against snipers so of course they seem unbeatable. |
.. Thread number 2003...
They said They will eventualy be doing somthing about it. Till then you gotta wait.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Remeber its free stuff that would other wis be income for relic or sega. Remeber we asked for this
Relic wtf y we get nothing for playing the game !?!?.
Releases war spoils
Relic wtf why is it random? I want to pick what I get and fuk dupilicates! !! :@
I wish the world wasn't so selfish, maybe we could actualy get somewhere Kappa. Like thats ever going to change MVGame
tbh id be happier if there were no war spoils.
I'm more upset about having less strategic options than my opponent (or on the flip side- more strategic options) for basically no reason.. I just want to play a competitive game. |
