what you mean you dont send your most valuable units around the map with its main weapon turned off to capture territories, risk hitting mines, and stumbling around in front of pak guns?
they should just give t34s and t70s timed vehicle detection ability. lets you detect nearby vehicles through the fog of war... |
any youtube videos of anyone playing this mod? |
ive never thoguht about putting the LT in vehicles for some reason.. thats actually quite a smart way to get rid of him if you cant find an MG to pick up or something. his reinforcment cost is just sooo damn expensive. |
this is probably one of my biggest peeves with USF, you shoot a rifle grenade, its in range so it turns the icon yellow like its going to be shot-- and nothing
same thing happens with the engine shot on the stuart (not as often but it happens).
does anyone have any tips on making sure your units dont get caught in a do-nothing limbo when youre trying to disable a tank? |
i just wish theyd implement chatting with other observers |
i like this idea, cover fighting is more fun. |
im pretty sure merging conscripts into shock troops doesnt give them them more armor, they just get ppshs (and they adopt all accuracy/etc stat of the shock troopers) |
ive noticed that too, but theres a big difference between standing in the capture zone and being actually idle.
there is also this same problem when healing or reinforcing squads
(which is actually the more annoying thing). if you have more than 1 squad at base reinforcing its bassically impossible to click him because retreating squads bunch up at the retreat point. Ideally id just click him in the top right section, but theres no way to figure out which squad is him because the idle indicator can mean lots of things.
the only way to select retreated squads is to drag select all squads at base and give them a move order so they spread out. Its annoying and difficult when im trying to focus in on the action. then click directly. |
The little "idle unit" indicator is really nice, as it would potentially help you identify units you might have accidentally forgotten about.
However i wouldnt really consider a unit capturing territory to be "idle" (same for units receiving healing and reinforcing). I get that theyre not moving, but theyre still doing something.
When non idle units show up as idle, then its a lot harder to find the units that really are idle. |
no, but if you know the direction that your opponent would probably send his planes in, you wont set up your infantry in the potential crash zone. You could say "ok my AA is here, if a plane comes and my aa shoots it down, the plane would probably crash around here" |
