itd be kind of cool if theyr range and/or button usefulness increased with veterency. They used to be worth it for button alone. Itd be cool to do pre-patch style buttoning if you manage to get one of them up to vet 3 or something
as they are theyre really only good against light vehicles, but conscripts are better because the at grenade is better than button. |
the USF faction is almost designed for the requirement of building atleast 1 cache in the first 5 minutes. If you dont make a fuel cache you'll have nothing to build except 5 riflemen in a row until you have enough fuel for the LT (and if you did something like buy grenades or buy an amnbulence, you might need to be getting a 6th or 7th riflemen because of fuel block).
I almost always build a fuel cache after the 2nd rifleman comes out. If not i then do a munitions cache so i can throw lots of grenades.
Nothing is a worse idea than just making a rifleman swarm and literally building nothing else. |
in my experience, if you first hear about the grenade from the sound you usually have to do a panic retreat anyway (on any grenade type).
The ideal scenario would be that no grenades have timers and you always rely on whats actually happening in the game world (as you must do for basically everything else in the game). but since the grenades are so small you would never know where they landed without some help from the timer hud.
the rifle grenade and the molotov animations are good enough so you can see where they went without the help of the timer hud, so its not needed. |
this doesnt make any sense, they improved the response time making it easier to dodge grenades.. and now you claim theyve been indirectly buffed?
For those that dont know. the animation for the rifle grenade is that one of the squad members (usually towards the front) takes a knee, places his rifle on the ground to angle for a shot, and then fires it. Its probably the easiest grenade animation to spot. The time from launching the grenade to it landing is just under 1 second. If you catch it from the start you have plenty of time to order your squad to side step it.
Not having the glaringly obvious big red timer makes its slightly harder to spot. But if you know the animation you have the same exact options as if it were a normal grenade because its about the same timing.
you really need to be looking for the grenade animation for all types of infantry if you want to play your best. (rather than relying on the timer). If you see the animation and react immediatly you usually can side step the grenade. If you wait for the timer to appear you usually have to retreat (or just choose to take the damage)

actually if sturmpios had the shrek option instead of the volksgren that could be a lot more interesting of a choice. buying a shrek would decrease the sturmpios killing power against infantry, and in a squad of just 4 losing 1-2 men to be guys who cary the shreks means they wont be killing many infantry.
In comparison to the volksgren.. theyre incredibly medicore vs all units. their main utility is that they can occupy space and throw grenades and shreks. Their role in infantry fights is that they can maybe attract some gunfire aware from the sturmpios while the sturmpios close in for the instawipe.
Bassically the decision to upgrade a volksgren with shreks is obvious and based only on if you have the munitions for it.
Choosing to turn a sturmpio from an anti infantry unit to an anti vehicle unit could be a more interesting choice. |
in theory its "not legit" because its a way to bypass buying commanders.
buying commanders is a terrible concept for a full priced game. this isnt an android play store tap mmo. its a full priced game and i paid full price for it.
This map is one of the top rated in the steam workshop, so im sure relic knows about it. The thing is the way the system is set up even if you do pepperidge farm you'll never get all the commanders, and you can still very easily spend days or weeks farming and not even get 1 commander.. which might just be a duplicate.
Which just goes to show how badly warspoils needs to be fixed. |
i think the chat filter is hilllarrrriioous.
and in the uncommon event i get filtered, its a nice reminder that theres nothing to get serious over. its just a game. |
in windows 7 there is a disk defrag utility already in there, it by defaults run once a week. if you go to start->disk defrag you can see the last time it ran and how fragmented your disks are. (should say 0% if its been running) |
i feel like this would result in even more homogenous commanders, everyone would just always pick the strongest abilities out of the best commanders.
you know how theres loads of commanders with tiger tanks, so you almost always see them? that would happen with all the best abilities. thered always be isu's, thered always be rocket strafes, thered always be shock troopers, etc, etc. |
i think the real issue is just how much space the hud takes up, they need to redision the center bottom area so it doesnt take up the whole width of the screen. the only stuff down there is the XP/kills of the unit and the commander abilities. the rest of that big block of space is just wasted real estate. you could see so much more if that wasnt there. |
