Thread: 75mm Pack Howitzer Experiences12 Oct 2014, 00:51 AM if you can get it to vet2 its going to be worth it. its sort of a weak mid game investment you make while betting that the game is going to end up being a long one where it will pay off. One thing i cant seem to do with it though, is figure out when to use the white phosphorus barrage. Youd think plane old emplacements and mg teams and stuff would be prime targets, but very often ill use a barrage on an mg squad, theyll not realize its being hit, and then it still ends up with 1 guy left in the squad even though he just sat there burning. If i get lucky and both shots in the barrage land kind of close it seems to do ok, but nothing that a regular barrage wouldnt have done probably. In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: RNG12 Oct 2014, 00:42 AM getting killed on retreat isnt an rng crit thing. in coh2 your squads arent as safe while retreating as they were in coh1. in coh1 i think you received some kind of bonus while retreating to take less damage. in coh2 that isnt there anymore and retreating units are just as easy to kill as non retreating units, just they are fleeing faster than you can chase. I know that snipers atleast have increased accuracy vs retreating units. other units in the game might have similar bonuses. In: COH2 Gameplay

I think in terms of blobbing, once you get some powerful units, you can basically just ignore all bullets that don't come from hmgs it sounds like it works by looking at how many enemy units are in close range of the smg wielding unit. This mechanic wouldnt work with medium/long range rifles because you could have two squads completely not near eachother (but in range of the same target squad), and that target squad would get an anti-blob accuracy bonus even though they werent firing on a blob. it sounds like itd work on the smg because since its close range than any units near it are blobbing. Thread: My problem with OKW and USF11 Oct 2014, 21:25 PM bazookas NEVER hit anything. its a huge mistake to buy them as they are now because not only do they not hit, your giving up your squad's firepower to lug the things around.. and they dont hit anyway. even in scenarios where ive let my riflemen squad get off 2 sets of bazooka volleys i tend to miss completely on both volleys. even if the bazookas were to hit, at grenades are on average more cost effective (especially if you add in the value of manpower saved for the rifles that didnt die because of your reduced firepower, and the fuel saved that could go towards a sherman or jackson). Your riflemen will need to go in to a LOT of tank battles before the bazookas start paying off. Its much better to just get a tank or an at gun, something that wont miss >75% of the time so you can work with a reliable strategy. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Quality or Quantity tanks11 Oct 2014, 17:29 PM you have to micro each tank individually to make good use of it. so as you add each tank to your army, the quality of each tank goes down. if i build 2 t34s its so i can repair one while i fight with the other and then swap them out. Only time i might bring in both of them is if the other player tries to make a power player with a big tank and i manage to pin it (so i start sending everything i have at it) In: Strategy Desk

Read this first !11 Oct 2014, 00:20 AM i sometims kind of wish 4v4 had an alternate mode, like one team is defense the other is offense. and the rules of the game mode could work into the (in)balance of large team games. 1v1 is where its at for a serious game, but 4v4s are fun because theyre more casual and slow paced. but have their merits In: Lobby
