I have a suggestion for rangers. Why not make them like they are in ardennes assault? Come with thompson's and can upgrade two bazooka's that they can "put away" whenever they need them. This way rangers would be an expensive unit to breakthrough enemy lines and truly "lead the way". Note that the reinforcement cost of rangers should be quite high to prevent unit spam.
yeah i always thought about that too... idk half the time i dont call rangers thought because they already are so expensive and the problem is with USF is the mortar is situational for smoke so you almost got no choice but a 3 rifle opening plus the liuet or captain and then you call rangers it just cost too much mp and to much infantry to keep up with, i normally only call rangers if i have some rifle wipes. the 1cp rcon pathfinders looks really interesting to change usf start up! |
Like explained multiple times in chagelog, vet 5 and 4 has been nerfed to put the faction veterancy on par with other factions vet 3.
Vet 5 squads like volks and falls, and obers and vehicles like jadgpanzer 4, king tiger and so on are getting nerfed.
Regardless of those changes being justified or not, DBP is factually levelling the scaling of units.
This implies that the lack of caches, which was a feature balancing the powerful veterancy isn't necessary anymore.
You get caches then you lose the ability to scavenge that simple |
Maybe replace assault engineers in the M3 with cavalry riflemen there already models for it in AA campaign. That could be interesting and give them some kind of ability that rifles don't have, Maybe optional thompson upgrades. So that they can just be another Rifle squad if you want or a close quarters squad if the map calls for it. Or maybe a on the field zook upgrade like captain would be use full too. |
Another problem I have with volks in the current patch is the dumb fucking building metas. I dont understand why volks in buildings are fucking super heroes and it takes 3x rifles in cover to out shoot them in the building and take so long by the time that happens another volk jumps, yet they are almost no cost get incendiary nades to deny you buildings and cover, yet when a rifle is in a house he can be out shot by 1 volk squad in cover.
Everyone who plays okw knows this its why they do it and abuse it all the time on maps with pivotal building locations or maps like ettlebrook. Because you are forced to fight them as they are blocking attack approaches.
Meanwhile other than maybe soviets every other damn faction has to pay out the ass to get viable building counters especially usf. Usf can do what get the shity mortar that can pound the building all day why volks still sit in it and laugh or pay out the ass to get grenades they dont work as they jump in and out.
UKF has what UC with expensive wasp upgrade and is also super fragile and dosent even do the same dmg as ost flame track.
The funniest part is sturms alone are good building clear by themselves. Also why can sturms shoot through fucking walls if one of your units is in a building? |

Really don't get it so easily countered as almost everything AT axis has pens them easily. cloaked rakatens you don't know are there, paks/pak wall (use its vet ability), jp4 spam, stug spam, panthers, any other axis tank, even pumas can fight one of them or especially ez8s and win supported. snares on both factions to guarantee they wont escape or instantly hault there flank and mines to hault there flank. Its because 1v1 they can usually win against both p4s??? wtf there doctrinal I would hope so and both on factions they only have mediums with litte or no AT ability. |
Katushas are excellent at medium range, and will never be hit by infantry unless user is a moron. I don’t see how they are mediocre as some of you claim considering how often I see them.
I use the panzerwerfer counter barrage, i never get katushas kills using it. I’ll do direct hits but very minimal damage (medium/far rage)
But I do have better luck with countering landmattress. As for calliope, forgettttabouuutttitttt
I do understand where OP is coming from, but I don’t see any more nerfs to them without making them completely useless.
Instead the panzerwerfer could use a buff.
The brumbar completely overshadows the werfers AI ability as well as anti building roll.
what werfer doesent need buff, it and katy are the most balanced rocket arty currently. Werfer is a guaranteed squad wipe if its in close range, but thats fine because of the one shot killed and the risk involved of bringing it fwd, same with katusha. |
The vet 5 shit went out the window when relic decided to give okw full income and and give them everything they ever lacked. medium tank, incendiary nades and snares on volks, buffed volks in general, gave them brain dead upgrade that increases their dps at all ranges, 6 min luchs, kubel redisign etc, etc.
Vet 5 shouldnt exist anymore made sense then when okw lacked at some areas and had a weak early game/early mid dosent now they excel at all areas and lack nothing so they should not get vet 5 period. Why do they get rewarded for simply keeping their infantry alive when other factions hit brick walls at vet 3.
Now this vet5 shit added to a high model, low pop, relatively cheap and spamable durable good dps infantry unit, that even gets a snare to help counter vehicles. |
Well in team games the vet 5 inf has always been a problem with okw especially after okw got full income. Fusilers pop cap is really low. Also in team games fussilers come with the current op Jagdtiger that basicly stops Allies from being able to use any form of AI Armor or armor at all. the 6 man squad also makes them extremely durable. Also why do axis infantry like fusilers and ostruppen always get a snare??? Allied call in infantry never does with the exception of AT Tommies that makes sense obviously. Point being their isnt even a down fall to calling them in when they still get a snare. |
Maybe if they also fixed the "phase" through feature of the panther would help, its the best at doing it because of its speed and acceleration. Hitting the stop key helps when trying to block it woth other tanks but i cannot count how many times i seen a panther have 9 lives because of the bullshit phasing through my tanks. I think blitzkreig also adds to why that happens |
Other things not mentioned by the FF and Panther shit debate. Panther has better speed and acceleration. FF has really slow turrent rotation and vehicle speed, IE you can run circles around it with a panther. FF is also vulnerable to ANY form of at its self. like INVISIBLE RAKATENS you can't see and can stealth through the lines for the cheese suprise.
You can easily bum rush a FF with a panther if it gets out of position.
OR stug spam, and jp4 work just fine as well does rakatens, paks, and any hand held form of AT.
The panther shit will never end until we make it the best tank in the game.
Already had to nerf the comet when it had far less AT capability than a panther but some how axis fanboys talked relic into believing it actually had even better AT than the panther. Plus comets supposed excellent AI also bullshit it misses most the time and when it does hit a squad it might gib one or 2 models tops. Now comet doesnt do anything well other than white phose support weps so now wonder you only see FFs in combo with cromwells, churchs, or centuars. |
