Has anyone honestly tried using it since it was nerfed a few patching ago? Every now and then I give it another shot but every time I really regret it or possible lost the match from wanting to try it. It literally does NOTHING well other than white phos support weps if you can even get it vetted as late as it comes. It has SEVERE problems being able to pen panthers and super heavys. but at the same time its too expensive to really risk it for flanking like mediums. Thats one thing ok its not good vs armor but it is TERRIBLE against Inf also. Try it for you self you can spend alll day shooting at infantry with it and in 5 shots maybe gib 1 model or 2.
I just hate how units get nerfed to fubar, it never beat panthers in AT the way it was before nerf that was a giant lie. Make something good about it please that outweighs the cost like maybe AI of that of the cromwell because right now it makes no sense to get the comet for anything it just sucks at everything relative to its cost. |
best game is when u play port hamburg right side fuel aganist two wermaht players and each one make one mg and 2 mortars sometimes its really annoying especially as brit player
Oh yeah its wipe city you cant even really fight them just have to avoid the area cause you know one of those homing mortars is gonna wipe your squad if you try. And if your USF what do you do make shit mortar that just gets hard countered by there mortar? or smoke there mg then retreat mortar instantly lol |
it is terrible its fakin worthless other than smoking mgs. Complete crap i have to build this POS mortar just to smoke mgs. Whats really funny is when it gets wiped by the first shell from OST mortar ive had that happen SEVERAL times. Garbage.
I had games where OST mortar wiped 2 IS squads right off the bat in cover. Or leaves them with a sliver of HP that are easily wiped and sniped by grens. Thats fine tho.
Really usf mortar has crap range already why cant it be decent at least instead of useless other than smoking mgs. It needs to be effective at least or your forced to choose captain every time to get pak howie or a doct with mortar HT. Or give rifles back smoke. "just flank" dosent work on half these dota 3 lane maps designed perfectly for axis mg arc. |
I find the ez8 incredibly lack luster anymore. I think it needs better speed or acceleration to make it better at flanking or maybe a bit better AI with main gun. It just too hard countered by so many things. Can easily get rolled by stug(s) can't really fight panthers, cant really fight any tank well other than other mediums. SUper glue taken away plus volks have snares now too which anything USF snared is death sentence other than maybe persh. Like other have said why buy it when its not great at anything really when you can have a reg sherman and jackson. Feel the exact same about comet after it was nerfed because of the LIES that it could beat panthers that was always crap. Comet is so so but too expensive for something that again dosent do anything great, much rather have a cromwell or centuar paired with a FF. |
The Panzer Werfer is a mix of good and terrible. I've noticed once it gets going and gets veterency it quickly a pretty useful indirect fire option.
There are pretty big problems though. It requires you to hit the last tier and sacrifice getting a tank out (Ostheer strives on getting these tanks out). It also doesn't really counter emplacements, like at all. Which is what you'd get it for. Also only firing 10 rockets is noticable, it's infinitely weaker at the "Wide Spread" barrage tactic where you try to saturate an area in rockets to damage as much as possible. Making it really only good at trying to wipe a small area or individual targets.
Thing is, when you use rocket artillery against allies you WANT to launch as many rockets possible to target as much infantry as possible. Or if you want the focused destructive rockets, you'd want them to damage emplacements. The panzer werfer isn't bad, it just doesn't really fit into the niche it's trying to. It's why most people like the brumbar as "indirect fire".
Actually it does counter emplacements really well now idk if you tried since patch. Vet3 emplacements are when they get better survivability they vet way slower now with out the range and autofire nerfs. RE doct was nerfed as well with the auto repair. Even if you kill the RE's repairing it thats 210 mp and if they are vetted slower repair speeds. I think PW barrage cd is up before brace is back up now too.
People get brumbar because it can be insanely broken when you just follow it around with a couple grens and a pak. It counters its own counters that dont pen the front reliably AT guns and usually kills them with first shot. I always found it hilariously broken against USF as jackson is the only thing they have that can dmg or pen it but if you follow it around with pak jackson cant do much either. Even does good dmg to other tanks. |
The original intention was that the Jackson get the health buff and retain the damage.
The result was incredibly powerful. Like, they could defeat panthers. You could drive 2 jacksons directly at a position covered by an elefant and a panther and win with overwhelming consistency. Only if the jacksons got hung up on each other and started pivoting would they be in danger.
They wanted jacksons (and all standard mediums) two survive 2 shots from elefants or JTs. Consequences of that change werent really explored, much less tested, and alternatives (Like 560 health to match the m10, retaining 200 damage) were unacceptable unless they accomplished that goal.
Just like heavy tank destroyers deal with now too.
Mind you Jacksons still have HEAT rounds for extra damage when they need it.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHH yeah right you are doing something HORRIBLY wrong if 2 jacksons can charge your panther and ele and wreck it. Thats also assuming there is not other forms of AT what so ever even snares that will turn that around quicker than shit. Jacksons still bounce the front of Ele and panthers a lot. And how much health the ele has alone NO WAY THIS CAN HAPPEN. Fuck assuming every shot the both jacksons fire hits and pens it still takes like 6-7 shots before its destroyed.

Such mechanic is already implemented: the further is the target the higher is the spread. The problem you guys might have is that while in case of alpha strike units like PW lower spread is always better, in case of area denial like LM it is sometimes better to have higher spread in order to lock bigger area. I can't think of any solution to that though other than decreasing max range of such units and that may make them useless.
You also need to consider that allied rocket artillery has low trajectory rockets that can't be shot from behind many shotblockers, like forests, becouse they simply hit them. PW and stuka, if well positioned, do not have that problem and it is an important advantage.

Also imo stuka(although not as bad) and especially werfer are still wipe machines. Allied rocket arty tends to just gib support weapons causing some mp bleed but preserving there vet. And Vet support weapons this patch seem more important than ever. Pwerfer and make a quick alpha strike and wipe a vet 3 squad almost instantly or support wep. Werfer by far the most effective rocket arty this patch i think. 2 of them in 2v2 is insane you can almost never cap a point with out a good chance you lose the squad caping. |
Ober and panzer grens grenades usually best at wiping because they seem to have a pretty big AOE. With them you really gotta pay attention a smart dude is gonna possibly throw it behind your squad guessing that you might instant retreat. There has been times where I've decided to move away from it and it seemed like i was clearly out of the way but it still wiped the squad. IDK maybe justified because they are elite infantry. |
I've been noticing something similar recently. Not sure if it has to do with the new squad behaviour, the new maps or if it has always been like that.
Im thinking it has to do with new squad behavior because it was on maps like rails where and other where i know its green cover and there shouldnt be an issue with them all getting in it. I don't know rifles just seem really clumsy now. |
I've noticed the squads dancing around and spreading out a lot more when trying to enter a building in DBP (now live version), anyone else notice it?
yeah ive notices a lot of weird stuff with the houses, probably because of the delay time to enter the building and exit i guess idk especially if other squads are near by trying to enter to (enemy ones) like houses on crossing by fuels that are always contested at start |
