That's exactly what people do, thus you open a thread to complain that panther has no use.
Panther counter medium and heavy tanks.
1- Nobody use medium tank enough to make the panther useful except on 4vs4
2- Nobody use heavy tank to make the panther useful except on 4vs4
Then you've got two solutions imo
1- Or you make the medium tank play meta which require a lot of changes on many units, mostly likely to be impossible today
2- or you change the panther to be something else than a tank hunter, kind of EZ8 maybe. Problem there is already the Tiger in that role. And he'll still face the same counters.
Yep exactly, I really wish we could go back to medium meta, it made for much more fun micro intense battles and cat and mouse games, but i agree probably impossible at this point.
I will tell you a huge reason why I don't use mediums anymore is for one every fuckin axis infantry unit has snares now even the call in infantry its rediculous, that gaurantees a fail almost every time on a big flank or dive. grens volks fusilers ostruppen falls think even jager or stormtroopers might also, then think about how many allied infantry have snares. Thats a huge one, no mobility on mediums makes them of no use and every time there gonna get snare spammed.

They do but not until it actually hits the tank, so USF is the worse case as most time before the snare even hits a panther reversing especially with blitz its already in FOW and long gone so it makes little difference as its safely behind enemy lines. |
It has to do with l2p because you can't flank or make plays when you outnumber the unit 2:1? Or because AT guns are overrated that mediums become obsolete? Or use tank destroyers to destroy tanks? Mediums can already counter the OKW panther due to its low RoF if they get on the rear armor. Ostheer panther needs more AT since its RoF now matches that of mediums.
It dosent matter if you have 2 ez8s the panther can normally still bully them if they have good micro. Allied mediums are going to bounce off the panther frontally quite a bit still. The exception is if you some how totally blind sight the panther and can use one of your tanks to block it however on most maps this just is not a reality when its a 3 lane map perfectly sized for axis MG arcs. Most the time they can just reverse faster than mediums can chase it, among other gimmicks war speed, smoke tactician etc. You cant really even dive with mediums anymore really anyways they will just get snared as almost every axis infantry has them even axis call in infantry or hit a mine which often results in you losing your mediums and panther escaping with a sliver of health. So more than 1 medium (to use mostly for AI) really not effective for allies anymore hence why I and everyone uses TDs to just try and block axis armor from a safe distance. I really use to like running mediums packs especially ez8s but they just do not seem effective at all for allies anymore in 1v1 maybe more viable but not 2v2 or up.

I see it sometimes with aggressive OST play in combo with pv4 or stug spam. Okw I never see it, think for one there is just too many better doct choices and okws p4 is one of the best stock mediums. Hetzer I do see sometimes if it is a city map it can actually be quite effective but still a bit of a luxary item even in that doct when flamer SPs can do the same thing in the same doct. |
The timed concrete round ability it has when activated will it fire through all obstacles at vehicles automaticly like pak40? or by right clicking during the 30 second duration? or do you have to manual attack ground if there behind a shot blocker? Just want to be clear on this as lately it can be rather clutch against elephant and I've gotten kind of mixed preformance results. |

IDK know why this was brought up, KT completely fine as it is, still consistantly wipes vet squads, just not gauranteed on the 2nd main gun shot now. It got exact nerfs it needed and was LONG over due.

WHAT? its is prolly the best rocket arty in the game (after walking stuka got small nerf) because it disengrates anything its on aoe that lands so fast many times retreating dosent save you. Even if you use a barrage up close to wipe one vet3 squad its already paying for itself. Never understood why both german get non doct BETTER rocket arty. werfer can single target wipe anything on the field at close distant almost guaranteed, stuka makes support weapons completely useless soon as it hits the field as well as does WAY too much damage to vehicles. Allied rocket arty only bleeds mp and mostly gibs support weapons because of there large area design and the way they deliver the rockets not all at once alpha strike like werfer. Its purely rng if they wipe a squad and that squad would have to be wounded or low hp.
To die it into the topic, theres a reason why at guns and infantry dont work to kill super tds, because even the one with super td can prolly afford to get one as well, or at least there teamate will. |
