Thread: Lienne Forest15 Jul 2014, 18:13 PM I agree with applejack that river is a big problem just a tank trap for any allied tank that are pretty much all built for flanking. I think there is just too many choke points in general in that map that favor axis heavy armor and defensive positions both germans have especially now that the panzer headquarters does decent dmg to even the front of an easy 8 and absolutely destroys any at inf along with there small static rocket arty and heavy arty as well as there mobs of shrek inf that always seem to be waiting on the other side when you try to bring down a tiger or tiger 2. There 5 star inf by that point seem to be tough enough that they can live through our arty to capture vp points if we try the same with our 3 vet inf they just get almost insta wiped. It is possible to get Riflemen who may not even be Vet1 and it is possible to get Riflemen who are already Vet2. The chance is weighted in a manner that makes the extremes less likely. Rifle Company does seem pretty good right now. I have this commander and the rifleman's xp is random but will always be at least vet 1 with the occasional vet 2 right from being deployed there is no rhyme and reason for it other than I can tell you the vet 2 and the vet 1 rifleman with really high xp close to vet 2 occur less frequently. Things I can recommend with that commander are not to get the flamethrowers on your riflemen when its unlocked unless you have to clear a building, but I usually just do this by getting bars or zooks the reason I do not get the flamethrower is by this time your riflemen are probably vet 2 or 3 and an unlucky shot will blow up the flamethrower possibly causing you to lose the whole squad which you really do not want to happen to a 3 star rifle squad. Also the easy 8 is probably overall the best allied tank in the game right now. It is a bit tougher than the regular sherman with better frontal armor as well as the pen is TONS better than the reg sherman. Easy 8 can easily beat two p4 by itself and even a panther if you flank. In packs they can wipe the map of german armor if used correctly there also very accurate on the move so I like to run them in flanking positions never stop and drive right back out and repair. A tiger of any sort out of position will get railed by 3 easy 8's or more all you have to do is run right at them and around to the back of them and use 1 easy 8 to block it from backing up there speed is pretty decent if you keep them moving once you stop there a bit slow to get moving again. Only problem I have with them is there AI and pathing dosen't seem as good as the regular sherman as far as navigating crowded maps with little open terrain. They just don't like to move the way I expect them to sometimes. In: US Forces Strategies

However, units inside will gain XP faster typically since vehicles tend to inflict damage against higher XP units. The unit does however effect the vehicles preformance. The unit when on foot has a low threshold to be vet 3 however when put into a vehicle although that unit is vet 3 his overall experience maybe only be enough to vet 1 a sherman because of the different xp thresholds for vetrancy of the unit on foot and the unit operating a sherman. That being said the xp sticks with that crew member. For instance I usually make 1 regular sherman then I bring out the easy 8's. I will then take a 1 star or two star reg sherman crew and move him into the easy 8 to have a 1 star easy 8 off the bat. This works with all vehicles like say a stuart crew into a sherman but you have the mind that the xp threshold is different for every vehicle. A 3 star m8a1 howie crew might only equal a 1 star sherman crew due to xp differences. So to me vehicle crews are best left to remain inside the vehicles as for the thompson upgrade the only time I could see you would want to use that is if you know for sure your vehicle is screwed you could possibly eject your crew before it is destroyed and then retreat them and make them into a inf squad but from what I hear there still not great at it. Also if you were capturing a point with your crew they have to be outside to capture it so that would give them a little more firepower i guess while capturing but a sherman needs 3 to operate it, if two die quickly you cannot jump back in your sherman and the enemy can if they have 3 or more so that is highly dangerous In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: Lienne Forest14 Jul 2014, 17:59 PM Seems to me is that I have the rifle commander and the easy 8 sherman is the one thing that can beat the crap out of axis armor in packs but on that map there is no room for me to flank with the shermans the sides are too cramped its screws the tanks AI so depending what side of the river the axis is on they just make a crap load of AT guns and sit there tanks across and build panzer head quarters there and trying to attack face on with shermans is insta death In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: OKW Wire14 Jul 2014, 17:53 PM The fastest way that I have found is to rush zooks then you can tell the infantry unit to attack the ground, usually takes 2 or 3 zook shots to destroy it. Plus your usually going to want your inf to have zooks anyways, at least I almost always do. In: US Forces Strategies

Pff I use this commander all the time and even the lucky 2 star riflemen does not win an engagement vs a strum 1v1 if the guy is smart and runs him in close which there is nothing we can do to stop them from doing that if you try to move your riflement away they just chase you and you end u retreating anyways and by the time the call in cd is up to call a 2nd sqaud in it normally seems like the other guy has way more infantry than my two vet rifles and eches which are worthless now with volley fire. Whats wrong with my easy 8's!? Just cause they give allied players 1 tank that is worth a shit? I hope they give us another commander soon with a super pershing call in In: Lobby
Thread: OKW Panther11 Jul 2014, 17:45 PM I've yet to see an OKW have a hard time fielding a panther unless they lose the early game terribly. I think personally most German players can't drive there tanks or use insufficient protection with them. Let me get about 4 easy 8's with 1 regular early sherman wich is easily done with my rifle commander pz4 don't stand a chance and either does a panther or king tiger or multiples of any if they can't drive them right or protect with shrek blobs. Panther is probably the best tank overall in the game so I don't see what people are talking about when its used right. In: COH2 Gameplay
