Your other option is to camp and you'll get obliterated with Stuka. By the time you have enough CPs for call-ins that allow you to be a bit more aggressive, German will have enough heavy armor that the game is basically over. Plus Relic really don't want you to have BOTH T3 and T4 as soviet, so you're left with very few options. T34/76s just provide way more utility to help your mid-game than SU-85 could ever hope to, especially now that its AT has been buffed. SU-85 (and the whole T4 tier) needs attention. Yeah I mean that is the only way to go now with soviets I completely agree and that is what I do but on maps like ettlebrook or lienne forest where there are choke points (also the 34s dont do well here because of inability to flank) it would be really handy to have the 85 again as a VP defender or using them to snipe across with inf spotting and still have the mobility as a reversing su85 is harder to flank than just driving past the at guns or having your at guns takin out by anti inf/support weapon call ins or just inf in general. Then At guns got buffed, the 85 got repeated nerfs, german tanks got their turbo drives back and the OKW happened. Su-85 is a joke now. Su-76 was always a joke. Katty re-nerfed. Why bother? Pretty much and the 85 use to be fun as hell to play and a great way to like you put maybe kill a tiger or at least scare it now it is just useless and you hardly see anyone use them now. I mean it is a lot more tougher than a jackson but that is worthless when it cannot do its job which is be a tank killer. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: su-85 needs attention.1 Aug 2014, 19:55 PM The su-85 in light of even heavier and more consistent german armor I think needs a pen as well a a minor dmg buff. Currently this thing is just almost hopeless and useless. It is a tank destroyer that cannot destroy tanks. It already and always has had poor maneuverability and obviously it has no turret and terrible rotation I get that it is vulnerable to flanking that is fine it has its downfalls but the fact that it cannot most the time pen a panther and pretty much do nothing to any form of tigers is unacceptable imo. If it cannot reliably pen a panther or tiger what is the point of it pretty much useless might as well drive it into the ice and let it sink. Opinions? In: COH2 Balance

It's exactly what it says on the tin. Thick front, no rear, long range. It's already a strong tank if you don't confuse it with an IS-2 and use it like a mong (aka 90% of panthers used in game). Thread: Us pios can´t cut the barbwire1 Aug 2014, 19:12 PM I was kinda leaning towards you would think they would have some ability that is usefull against okw wire as they are there counterpart. What is the counter to reinforced barbwire? nothing really in ettlebrook this can be a huge pain in the ass. my suggestion is maybe give eches bangalores ability to blow it up for a munitions cost instead of volley fire which is useless. Thread: Kubelwagon Idea's and Possible Improvements1 Aug 2014, 18:26 PM It is very much fine as it is. In the right hands they always pair it with a strumpioneer. Suppress the squad(s) strumpioneer runs in forces you to retreat or wipes you. It has good speed to run away from flanking inf too. You throw a rifle grenade at it ? it continues to suppress your units while the strum simply repairs it. In the right hands it is very much capable of giving you the early game advantage especially against US as they have 0 early game supression thanks to volley fire nerf. And also it is a light cheap early game vehicle used for exactly what I just said how long do you really think it is going to last like any light vehicles?? In: COH2 Balance

Not really it can preform way better against medium tanks than a tiger. Two easy 8s I park one in tigers ass which is easily done cause its slow while the other one circles it and lol. Smart panther starts backing up I prolly wont pen the front and probably end up losing both easy 8s and not killing the panther because I cannot get behind it (as it is faster backing up than the sherman is driving forwards) and eventually if I pursue it I am going to run into trouble and prolly lose both tanks while the panther survives. On a side not can anyone wikipedia me the reverse speed of a panther compared to a sherman driving forwards? I assume the panther dosen't go top speed in reverse due to a transmission but I may be wrong. In: COH2 Balance

Wikipedia's informations on tanks speeds: Panther: 55 km/h (34 mph) (first models), 46 km/h (29 mph) (later models) Sherman M4: 25 to 30 mph (40 to 48 km/h) Definitely nonsense. I am not raging I simply believe it is fine. Maybe 80% of the community that plays axis. It has really really great front armor it does great damage and it is hard to flank with shermans if the guy has a brain and uses the reverse. You have p4 tanks which is very close to the equal of a sherman. Why should the panther cost less and be out the same time as 1 sherman. Do the axis really need better armor than they already have? Also as you can see I play mostly allies and I use a lot of shermans. What I hate going up against the most is not a Tiger of any form they are easily flanked and easily beatable what I have the most trouble with is a well driven panther just saying that is why I think it is fine. I think it is crazy when axis players make a bunch of tigers there like a fat kid with a sign on there back that says kick me most of the time unless there in a map like ettlebrook or something where it is very hard to flank tigers. Especially multiple panthers imo are very effective. In: COH2 Balance
