Against heavy german tanks? No other nobrainer. But Zis-3, SU-85, SU-76, T-34/85, IS-2 all work well. Just not on their own. Numbers comrades.

Zis-3 su-76 in numbers dont counter axis heavy armor they can easily just get away from the zis or just arty them. su-76 would last about the time it took it to encounter the first axis units and a shrek mob and its dead as well as it wont pen anything they have above p4. su-85 cant pen the front of german superunits so its pretty much useless too slow no turret. everything else you listed they will have multiple panthers and tigers by the time you get them out and most likely the game is already over by then as there pushing your fuel over. 4v4 sucks right now i play a little 1v1 but i like playing big games with teammates. WF was more balanced when it first came out than it is now. Can't sherman spam anymore which was the only thing that let usf maybe take down heavy units with numbers now by the time they are pushing our fuel wed be lucky to have 2 shermans out and not even able to call an e8 in yet wouldnt have the fuel anyways if i built a reg sherman or two. Lets see oh yes the nascar panther that even when it has engine damage can about out run a sherman and blows the sherman away in speed head to head which makes no fuckin sense why does it even get smoke then. 1v1 is ok but id rather play with friends. Playing 4v4 right now is just frustrating its just a game yes but i would like to be able to win as allies when i play a good game right now it just dosen't matter. And why cant the USF have a super unit I dont even know why i ask cause if they do get one it will just be a pos with a sign on its back saying kick me for relic to laugh at us allied players |

su 76 is not an early game option, mortar halftrack is the same as any mortor other than its on a track pack howitzer is pretty much the same as rakkenwerfer ill maybe give you the zis barrage but you can simply move out of it? |

Correct. They are not. Thats why it something else in the 50 fuel range (obviously more powerful than the LEIG) that can rival chosing the HT to deal with US infantry blob and maxim spam.
stukka is strong. raketenwerfer has great range and does good dmg to blobs. flak halftrack does great against blobs. well placed panzer headquarters stops blobs from being able to move up. Luchs does fine against blobs unless they have a lot of zooks. sturmtiger is capable of wiping blobs. you were also considering all allied artillery wermacht has plenty of artillery so consider that too. |
Exactly this. Try to be aggressive with any T4 unit and you'll throw the game so quickly. Your other option is to camp and you'll get obliterated with Stuka. By the time you have enough CPs for call-ins that allow you to be a bit more aggressive, German will have enough heavy armor that the game is basically over. Plus Relic really don't want you to have BOTH T3 and T4 as soviet, so you're left with very few options. T34/76s just provide way more utility to help your mid-game than SU-85 could ever hope to, especially now that its AT has been buffed.
SU-85 (and the whole T4 tier) needs attention.
Yeah I mean that is the only way to go now with soviets I completely agree and that is what I do but on maps like ettlebrook or lienne forest where there are choke points (also the 34s dont do well here because of inability to flank) it would be really handy to have the 85 again as a VP defender or using them to snipe across with inf spotting and still have the mobility as a reversing su85 is harder to flank than just driving past the at guns or having your at guns takin out by anti inf/support weapon call ins or just inf in general. |
Used to be that the 85 was the only way the russians could ever dream of killing a tiger.
Then At guns got buffed, the 85 got repeated nerfs, german tanks got their turbo drives back and the OKW happened.
Su-85 is a joke now. Su-76 was always a joke. Katty re-nerfed. Why bother?
Pretty much and the 85 use to be fun as hell to play and a great way to like you put maybe kill a tiger or at least scare it now it is just useless and you hardly see anyone use them now. I mean it is a lot more tougher than a jackson but that is worthless when it cannot do its job which is be a tank killer. |
The su-85 in light of even heavier and more consistent german armor I think needs a pen as well a a minor dmg buff. Currently this thing is just almost hopeless and useless. It is a tank destroyer that cannot destroy tanks. It already and always has had poor maneuverability and obviously it has no turret and terrible rotation I get that it is vulnerable to flanking that is fine it has its downfalls but the fact that it cannot most the time pen a panther and pretty much do nothing to any form of tigers is unacceptable imo. If it cannot reliably pen a panther or tiger what is the point of it pretty much useless might as well drive it into the ice and let it sink. Opinions? |
Why do you want the heaviest 'medium' tank of the war to be a glass cannon?
It's exactly what it says on the tin. Thick front, no rear, long range.
It's already a strong tank if you don't confuse it with an IS-2 and use it like a mong (aka 90% of panthers used in game).
Wehr needs to have same stats as OKW and it's fine.

I was kinda leaning towards you would think they would have some ability that is usefull against okw wire as they are there counterpart. What is the counter to reinforced barbwire? nothing really in ettlebrook this can be a huge pain in the ass. my suggestion is maybe give eches bangalores ability to blow it up for a munitions cost instead of volley fire which is useless. |
