A quick example; if you have a Grenadier squad that reaches vet 2, each entity within the squad will receive the vet 2 modifiers. If during the course of the game, one of those four entities die, the reinforced entity will no longer come with the modifiers you received at vet 2.

Effectively, you could have a vet 3 squad without any vet.

How about units reinforced via Merge? If a vet 0 conscript is merged into a vet 3 Guards squad, do those models gain the modifier bonuses?

Play more and you'll naturally be placed around where you should be. I played 10 games as US random 3v3 (7-3) and got all the way up to top 50. Haven't played more since and now it's decayed to ~166 position. I also suspect there aren't a lot of (good) people playing as allies in large team games due to balance, so it might be faster to climb. It's much easier to move up/down the ladder you're playing the new armies compared to Soviets / Ostheer due to the playerbase.

I've been stuck in the 2000 position as Ostheer 4v4 random for months even though I typically win 3 games for every loss, which is mostly not even attributed to my team performance. I can win 4 games in a row, slowly climb to ~1000s, then get THAT matchup where your allies are randomly dropping / sync error and I would get the loss really quick, instantly dropping me back to high 2000s. Rinse and repeat. It's a vicious cycle.

The current random 4v4 scene is a bit bleak for Allies at the moment, largely because of the huge player base searching for Axis. If you have a decent 4v4 ELO as Axis (very easy to accomplish in this game mode because of abundance in late game super heavies), you'll most likely be matched up with players around that rank simply because there are a lot of them searching with you.

In fact, you'll know that the longer you wait, the worse your opponents will be as automatch attempts to put together 4 random allied players further AWAY from your ELO rating. Automatch doesn't seem to try to match up "balanced" teams as searching gets longer. I was matched with the SAME 2 Axis players (both in top 50) 3 times in a row fighting various Allied players in ~2000 ELO range. This will result in rather easy wins for you.

Conversely, if you're searching random 4v4 as Allies, you'll get a game much faster but your team might not necessarily be around your rank; chances are they're at much lower rating since there aren't a lot of you searching. In most cases, you'll be going up against teams with much higher collective ELO ratings, for reasons I stated above.

I know ELO rating isn't everything because of things like server issues, random disconnects, dropouts, etc., but this is the pattern I've seen after doing many random 4v4s for a few weeks.
