While obs mode is a feature that should have been in game since the beginning, if it finally makes it into the game one day, it won't magically solve everything.
I don't believe one second that if it makes it into the game, coh2 esport scene will suddenly grow up, online events will have more watchers or casters, and live events will be created.
Sorry if some people don't like what I'm writing, but I really believe obs mode won't change coh2 state.
I hope for you I'm wrong though.
(and let me repeat it, obs mode should have been in game since day 1)
Of course not. But at the very least, it'll provide a tool for casters and personalities to do their job easier so they can focus on things they do best, like being entertaining and growing the community instead of jumping through all these technical hoops. Like Ami said, if we can get popular gaming personalities to cast CoH2, that'll provide more opportunities for new players to witness first-hand as to why we love this game. Do it regularly, and the community can potentially see a steady growth.
But those guys aren't going to want to spend their time casting a game via a replay that's already happened.
Watching an important game live is infinitely better rather than through a replay. Technology shouldn't get in the way of people to do awesome things.
