Thread: Maps, which one you like and why?13 May 2014, 16:20 PM Hill has been on my perma-veto list since it came out.. do not like the mud mechanics at all since it slows everything down too much. I like Steppes for 3v3 and 4v4, can get a decent teamwork gameplay going on there. Rostov can be pretty fun, though strongly favors the southern base. Do not like Oka River and City 17 for 3v3 since one guy is always stuck doing a 1v1 (or 2v1 depending on RNG base placement dice roll). In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Defensive IS2?13 May 2014, 04:51 AM My first 1v1 in months, trying to see how things work now. Got too overconfident wanting to close the game early and I was punished for it. That Pak43 completely caught me off guard and should have expected that teller. Had to switch strategy from offensive to completely defensive when I lost all my armor. Also over-exaggerated the range of the pak 43 in my head, did not need to stay that far back. Need to work more on my infantry tactics, way too many casualties as things got chaotic. WP Astarot. My primary way of getting anything out of the PTRS is to load them up in an M3A1 and let them operate out of it. They can aim and move in such a vehicle so you get a decent light vehicle hunter. Their old range was definitely close to overpowered with the M3A1. The DP-28 is still more expensive than it has been historically so buttoning is harder to do than usual. It's trouble for Guards at their AT role. +1 This is currently the way I've been using guards... put them in an M3! Put everything in an M3 FTW! Guards have to be stationary to do any kind of damage with their PTRS or DP-28, so putting them in a scout car ensures that they're always shooting and not dance around / constantly resetting their ready aim time. You can't choose your target but it's a small price to pay considering you're more nimble and can actually chase down scout cars. On a somewhat related note, is there some sort of prioritization to what they shoot at first? Is it always vehicles before infantry? Or maybe whatever is closest? In: COH2 Balance

Its current pen is the same as the t34/76 and it carries the ZiS-3 gun. I don't know where it will fit. The SU-76 was already made out of paper and wasn't already deflecting any AT shots, so I'd say the armor decrease doesn't really make much difference in terms of gameplay. They did significantly decrease the scatter angle and distance though, which leads me to believe that it'll hit infantry much more consistently. I guess that's offset by the cost increase, which I'm not crazy about for something that flimsy. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Rifle Grenades19 Apr 2014, 05:43 AM What if rifle nade uses a similar accuracy/scatter mechanism employed by other projectile weapons such as mortar, SU-76 barrage, artillery, etc? So the farther you are, the larger the scatter circle where your shot might land. That way Maxim suppressing squads at max range won't get wtfpwn'd all the time, but if they get close enough, they can still reliably fight back much like how conscripts can with their Molotov. But if we're talking them as doctrinal tanks, I think 9CP for the T34/85 is a little late. They aren't really late game tanks and fit more around mid game as a way to counter P4s. You'll need two or more to be able to counter anything heavier. I know Relic wants call-in tanks to supplement your core army, but aside from the german command tank (which is available at 8CP), every other call-in tank is heavy. The T34/85 is a medium tank that will lose to most things when it becomes available. In: COH2 Balance
