I have played Ostheer but mainly Soviets. I find that OKW can just get away with just infantry for the game until they build KT or Jgdt
If you stall to a heavy as okw and if you only have infantry you're gonna have a hard time dealing with midgame tanks. |
Caches are all about sacrificing resources in the now for more resources in the later. The reason you dominated the early game was the exact same reason why you were overwhelmed by tanks in the late game. Sib and Sprice sacrificed their early game manpower to gamble on a massive fuel income late. When facing this kind of tactic it is absolutely critical to use your early game advantage to take out the caches or build caches of your own.
I personally like caches as they add an extra layer of strategy to the game, particularly in 2s.
Sure, but don't you think they destroy the sense of the special points and the whole resource system of coh? It is just like mg spam, just with tanks. And the price you pay (if you build them at a secure place which is map dependend) is nothing compared to the advantage you get. |
Op? Ops in this game are Opels. If you mean caches, no, they are not OP.
I don't mind if you change the title if it is wrong. |
Hello Friends, after i played against sib and sprice i thought it needs a thread, i know there might be already one about this topic but i had to do it. It was a normal game, allies vs axis, mixed teams. It was on ettelbrück, after we dominated the earlygame we thought it might be a goo victory for us but no.... they built ops, many ops, so many, that we were against more tanks than we could handle. M8s, jacksons, shermans, t34/85. It might be a ltp issue but both of us my mate and me aren't bad players so i would like to know what you think about. They have the biggest effect in teamgames though, i know but i want to know your opinion. Should they be in the game?
They are also called caches but i think it's obvious what i mean.
Here's the replay: http://www.coh2.org/replay/25043/ettelbr%C3%BCck |
OKW blob > USF blob
Jackson needs pen buff also 57mm
adding elite infantry to t4 building would help alot
USF needs some type of arty. like every other faction (non-doc preist)
either give okw 66% muni back. OR Force them to pay for thier free upgrades.
We have stats to prove how bad usf is...
These changes would help
Yeah sure, but it's still fact that usf players tend to blob more often. The us at gun and the jackson might need more pen, but if they get more penetration i can't see the sense of the vet ap rounds anymore. Adding elite infantry to the t4 is something that has to be discussed, with the mun cost for okw i disagree competely, if you lower the ammo for okw more, they won't be able to lay mines or upgrade they're infantry with schrecks, they won't be able to throw nades anymore (which are really bad compared to the usf nades) or use offmap arty. To the arty, i'm always against adding more indirect fire, the us have enough doctrinal arty and the major arty so it isn't really needed. |
Relic should just take away its ability through buildings and obstacles. That way, players actually need to maneuver it instead of just sitting it behind a house and shooting at things.
Have you ever tried to maneuver it? It's slow, has an incredibly slow acceleration and it gets stunned whenn a at gun shoots on it. |
JT is OP in team games, no discussion here.
There have already been several suggestions on how to fix/improve the situation. I think it´s hilarious how Relic nerfed the Ele/ISU (and rightfully so!) because they saw how they were too OP with their huge range. Now they introduce another unit that is even worse than ISU/Ele have ever been?
For me, this applies to 95% of all team games: if I have the JT, I win. If the enemy has it, I lose. If you make it to the top 100 in team games, people are not retarded anymore.
Good luck flanking it (hello Volk shreck mob! Oh, you brought only your paper armor?) or hitting it with arty (I´ll drive away and if I get hit, I´ll repair, whatevs).
Btw. the the OKW flak truck shoots P47 down like flies, so much for that JohnnyB.
Yeah the problem is that the isu is an even more gamebreaking unit and have you ever played jt vs 2 b4s it's useless if you have those. |
I'm not a good player, and in the couple of times I've encountered the JT in 4v4 as a Soviet player, I took it out without breaking much of a sweat.
First time was with an ISU-152 on Steppes. Had some Guards Rifle infantry supporting me with Button, and I had the Mark Vehicle ability as well. Not sure if my AT gun was there too. It had little to no support, so it went down hard.
Second time was on City 17 with my T34/85s. I blasted the infantry blobs that were in the vanguard and they immediately retreated. I then engaged the JT from the front with my Zis, while my T34/85s took turns flanking from different sides. I learned the hard way that it can shoot through buildings, but even then I took it down without getting totally thrashed (pretty sure it was marked, not sure about Button though).
Maybe I got lucky? I just think that if someone is using an IS2 and a JT pops up, he's kind of been countered because of his choice of Commander. No Mark Vehicle, no Button, no artillery; just slow lumbering tanks that are ideal targets.
Still, I'm more scared of Kubels than I am of JTs.
You didn't get lucky you summed up the weaknesses of the JT very well. |
Yeah, I agree buffing bars and Zooks would be a better idea. USF is a faction designed entirely around having the best and most flexible infantry to compensate for Axis having better tanks and better support weapons... except USF don't actually get the best infantry so the balance and dynamic is completely thrown out the window. It makes absolutely no sense at all why BARs and Bazookas are incredibly inferior to MG's, G43's and Shreks.
It's not designed to have the best infantry it is designed to have the best baseline infantry, and people here shouldn't forget that you can equip two of them on every squad and you can fire bars on the move which is a rather rare ability. But i agree with bars they need a buff, but zooks are ok. |
Jadgtiger should have the same "Concrete Piercing Round" ability than ISU-152, at the same price.
Shooting through buildings for free without penalties of any kind is just lame.
Oneshotting vet 5 inf squads is kinda lame too right? And such a slow unit which is able to get stunned when anything hits will be much weaker when you can't shoot through buildings anymore. |
