Loving the Panzerfusilliers changes, can't wait to never see Volks again in team games. Oh wait, that's what it's like right now because 75% of OKW players choose either Breakthrough or Grand Offensive, with the other 25% choosing Spec Ops.
At least Spec Ops is having the flares removed, finally.
I mean honestly, if we're buffing Panzerfusilliers why not take away their snare, or leave it as a snare that only comes with veterancy like Riflemen used to have? Why should a player get rewarded for completely ignoring Volksgrenadiers? Maybe the snare can only unlock with the G-43 upgrade or something. At least this forces a player into some diversity with their build instead of just spamming Panzerfusilliers like we see in 90% of matchups right now in team games. |
My issue is the lack of consistency. I also find the vet 1 ability to be very underwhelming, I don't think I've ever seen it get a wipe all the times I've used it though it does heavily damage whatever it directly hits. Takes a long time to fire too, which I understand because it would be silly if you could just walk up to an AT gun and instantly use an ability.
I feel like it should do more though, increase the ammo cost even and make it something that can reliably punish a blob. It already has the warning indicator when you're firing and it takes a few seconds before it fires so there's plenty of time for an aware player to avoid it.
Other than that I really don't have many problems with the IS-2 other than its horrendous pathfinding sometimes. |
Please, lets be honest, the only thing the was keeping Ost playable before the last patch was the Infantry Doctrine 5men Gren upgrade.
In this last patch the "brillant" balance team decided to nerf it (dont know why), setting Ost again in an horrible balance position.
Also decided to nerf another important units of Ost roster like Brumm Armor and sniper LOS.
God forbid you actually have to micro your sniper and use it in combined arms with other units scouting and spotting instead of just attack moving it.
Please with the exaggerations about "horrible" balance position for Ostheer, as if they aren't an excellent faction in all game modes right now. |
Ostheer basically in the best state it's been in years (and it's always been a top faction) and people are still upset, amazing. |
I just wish it was more like a glass cannon. It should punish blobs, but tanks should be able to reliably penetrate it frontally. It's just so infuriating to see it bounce jackson and su-85 shots, even fireflies bounce its frontal armor occasionally. It just feels like it's too survivable.
Maybe that's just the current meta though, it feels like almost every game a OST player in team games is rushing 2 mg42 into pgrens into Brummbars.
It wasn't bad it just wasnt as necessary. And tech structure was completely different back then for both factions so it's hard to compare really. Point is it was there to begin with
The werfer was already good against blobs. Not quite sure what you mean by ultimate rng machine, pretty sure that's reserved for something like B4. Sure it's not as good anti-blob as shotgun katyusha, but that's the best anti-blob tool in the entire game
There's a reason they nerfed the recharge time vet bonuses on all rocket arty, including werfer. It's main barrage is plenty good still. The brumm leans slightly OP for me but I feel like it's less used in 1v1. Might knock it out entirely if they nerf it anymore
I'd argue that the Calliope is the best anti-blob tool in the game honestly, Katyusha in my experience is great, but much easier to avoid than the calliope and much more prone to RNG, whereas if you get a good calliope barrage you're pretty much guaranteed a few wipes. |
If you think the LefH is never seen you must never play 3v3 or 4v4 because it's used in every single match, even by OKW players since a significant portion of players use Overwatch.
I would love to see them limited to 1 alone too.
As for the ML-20, no one really builds them because they're still just very mediocre and most of the doctrines that have them aren't all that great. |
Is there an argument for removing and replacing it with the M8 from recon support? Then find something else to go in that commander.
I don't think so, the M8 fills in a similar roll to the Stuart, not entirely but still similar enough that having the M8 and Stuart in the same building would be redundant. The M20 still has utility, it just needs some changes to make it relevant and useful again. |
I agree with the side skirts being overpriced, 70 munitions just to make it survivable with USF, when you're already struggling with ammo when the M20 comes out, when it needs to be useful is such a pain. Besides, as soon as the enemy team sees you have an M20, they're gonna invest in minesweepers if they're smart, because one of the only reasons to get an M20 right now is if you're trying to counter a sniper, or want to lay some disabling mines.
There's several solutions I can see to alleviate this.
One would be to remove the tech cost to get the M20 out in the first place, 50mp and 20 fuel and then having to spend another 240 / 20, and then 70 ammo on top of that is ridiculous. Maybe just make the upgrade cost for the Stuart alone, and bump up the price of the M20 slightly, as well as getting rid of the armor skirts and making them default.
Price increase to 280-300 mp 25-30 fuel. Still need to unlock the command post to get a stuart / tech to Major.
This way it actually has utility the moment it comes out, and I don't think timing will be an issue, if it is, build time can be increased slightly to compensate. Right now it takes 55 seconds to build an M20, you could increase that by 15+ seconds if timing is an issue. It also takes an additional 30 seconds to upgrade it with side skirts currently too.
I also like the idea of making the armor skirts cost mp / fuel instead of ammo as well, that would be a very nice compromise without doing significant changes.
Right now the ammo cost is just too damn high for it, especially since you're going to be spending so much ammo as USF on a combination of upgrades to riflemen (BARs, zooks on RE, grenades) as well as ammo to upgrade your Lt. with a zook if needed, having to spend that extra 70 ammo just makes it completely not worth getting. |
I think it's fine as is. If anything, it's more of a "last resort" type unit where if you lose your buildings, and don't want to spend fuel to rebuild, you just get the Tiger out instead as a last ditch effort to regain your ground. For that purpose it works just fine. |
Reporting this player, Wadu Wadu, got angry and decided to just idle his units in base instead of playing, very unsportsmanlike. Needs to be taught a lesson I think. |
