i'm not good at english, Hope you guys understand.

Role : heavy assault gun (Like SU-85 and KV-2 in one)
cost : 720:MP 260:FU
Speed 4.5 (max) but seem slow AF ingame
Armor : F (310) R (155)
AP round pen. : 230 (same as IS-2 , SU-85)
AP round damage : 240 (same as KT)
Range : 70 (same as elephant)
Reload time: 10.13 (AP and HE)
HE round are fine :)
Concrete piecing round almost useless

Solution 1
- merge AP and HE round like old times
- Reload time : to 14.7
- Concrete piercing round change to time toggle ability : 30s. for 90:MU

Solution 2
- Become a tank destroyer role
pen : 400 (like elephant)
damage : 320 (same as elephant , and J.tiger)
reload time: 8.68 (same as J.tiger)
- Remove HE round and Concrete piercing round
- Remove Top gunner upgrade
replace Concrete piercing round with recon mode like t-70 but 90° (no-firing)

Solution 3
- Reduce Reload time to 8.68 (same as J.tiger)
- Reduce switching time ummm.... i don't know like USF sherman

Sorry for my bad english.

I like the combining shells but 15 second reload. Up damage to 320 in turn.

I am game for solution 2. I feel that a late game TD for allies is better

Nah too much homogenization. Allied anti-tank is very good atm anyway.

The su 85 already got buffed so that it could better counter heavy armor and the ISU 152 is a heavy assault gun not a heavy tank destroyer, its not meant to be a soviet Jagdtiger its meant to decimate infantry and structures and to only occasionally deal with armor.

Solution 1: I don't like it, 15s reload time is ridiculous

Solution 2: No, Soviets already have good AT with the new SU-85

Solution 3: Too much of a straight buff

This thing isn't that bad, it just has an awkward spot in the meta. It can be used effectively in niche situations. If it had to get any change I'd say a second or two off the switch time, slight cost reduction for concrete-piercing rounds.

then what is the IS-2?
Expensive close combat Anti Infantry Tank?
Because the damage against tanks - a joke. It can damage Pz-4.
Against the Panthers, Tiger and OP KT it is very bad.
Plus a huge GNR bounce

ISU152 is perfectly fine how it is.

Solution 1 and 2 are nerfs while 3 would be OP

Your English is good, no need to worry :)

BTT:
I don't think the ISU needs any changes. It was changed a lot in the past and was either unplayable or extremely OP. I think it is in a good spot right now.

I noticed that after the last patch, ISU-152 HE round dont shock crew of enemy tank. This is wrong and makes me sad

I'd say a second or two off the switch time

+1

i think that is the necessary change, because other than that the isu is alright

the trouble with the ISU is that it gets hard countered by elevation. Maybe artificially making where the shells are fired from higher off the ground might help?

The changing of shells could do with a shorter period of time for the sake of making it relevant. Oh and the pen should be increased for the AP shells, it should have more pen than an 85...

I don't find the problems with any of soviet vehicle (except T-70 obviously). ISU was op, had combined shells, double shot with Concrete piercing round, 100 range and self spot ability. Now it's pretty fine, especially with DShK which can penetrate light armor like pumas etc :D

It depends on what your opponent does. The vehicle itself isn't really worth to go for unless it can snipe, which is rather map dependent. I rather think it works well in 2v2s, not 1v1s.

I like solution 1 but keep reload at 10 or 12 is.

For me ISU has only 1 big problem - Germans Heavy Tank Destroyers. Usually, at least 1 German player has it in 4 on 4. ISU has lower penetration, lower armor, lower damage, lower rate of fire, and lower fire range (than Jagdtiger). But if Germans don't have Jagdtiger or Elefant, ISU-152 feels good.

You mean the machine spirit inside feels good, since I'm not sure vehicles have feelings otherwise.

ISU just needs more penetration on AP. 200 at Max range is laughable. It has less Pen that the SU-85

I dont like any of these solutions.

  • Ive seen the ISU that killed infantry and tanks with the same shell and it was a horrible design.
  • I dont want it similar to the elefant either.
  • Solution3 would make it too OP.

I think ISU is generally on the right place now... the switching time could be lowered with a couple of sec, but i think its the right concept.

no, it's AP round is laughable. Bounce shot RNG for 8+ second reload. Could just get 2 SU-85 instead with more penetration, faster reload, and double the damage.

It needs penetration of 280 or something so that it's shots actually count against mediums.

Willy Pete: @Rosbone Ahh I missed that memo. I still think its a bad decision though. Adds frustration for players and isnt gonna make them that much money
27 Mar 2025, 15:46 PM
Rosbone: It is also good they left it free until after the free to play weekend. Points for that.
27 Mar 2025, 09:34 AM
Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
27 Mar 2025, 09:32 AM
Rosbone: To be fair, it was a thank you to early fans right? They said it was not free for long and it would become a pay DLC at some point.

Willy Pete: Re-releasing free DLC so they can charge new players money for it. Brilliant marketing strategy

20 Mar 2025, 13:11 PM
Nickbn: @Rosbone it's incredibly rude to speak on someone elses behalf, especially when a question is directly adressed to them. I understand your passion for the subject at hand but I want to hear from him.
20 Mar 2025, 10:16 AM
Rosbone: @Nickbn No, I am just saying people should not be using any Relic owned forum since they have proven they ban anyone who says true things about Coh3.
