Hello!

As some of you know, we with Kasarov created pack of adjusted commander portraits for the CoH2. More detailed information you can find there: https://www.coh2.org/topic/105654/adjusted-commander-portraits

Red Army

Guards Commanders

- Now all of them has poncho
- For Ambush tactics used camo poncho
- For Heavy TD and premium mediums used black collar tabs and black officer hat
- For artillery used binocular
- Airborne has different pocnho, based on the AirGuards model

Shocktroops Commanders

- All have coat
- Late war commanders have 1943 unform
- Early war commanders have 1935 uniform
- For artillery used binocular

NKVD commanders

- Original NKVD commander based on NKVD commissioner from the game + uniform elements from NKVD.
- Reserve Army commander based on NKVD borderguards regiments.
- Uses 1935 unform.

Conscripts and infantry support commanders

- Defensive and Advanced commanders uses 1943 uniform.
- Conscript support uses early war winter uniform.
- Commanders with premium mediums have black officer hat and collar tabs.

Unique commanders

- Remain their original design or become original after out edit
- Got minor adjustments to match with other commanders
- Tank Hunter was used as standard and remain untouched

Ostheer

Tiger Commanders

- Uses regular uniform of panzer crews.
- Helmets changed on officer hats.
- Commander with officer has cross.

Also, one of them got headphones in case it's not unique enough.

Tank Destroyer Commanders

- Inside part of poncho colored in white, as was mentioned in the feedback.
- Updated officer hat.
- Elefant commander with scopes and recon got binoculars as exception to highlight his high performance in recon.
- For the rest binoculars stand for howitzer in the doctrine.

Osttruppen Commanders

- Their uniform colored in green (like Osttruppen uniform)
- Pocnho for Pak 43
- Cross for officer

Luftwaffe Commanders

- Fixed extremely dark faces.
- Fixed location to match with other commanders.
- Luftwaffe Ground Support uniform was inspired by pilots coat.

Ace Commanders

- New uniform for Strategic Reserves Doctrine.
- Updated officer hat for both.
- Number of small adjustments for Strategic Reserves face.

Infantry Support Commanders

- Commanders with grenadiers (or upgrade for VSL grenadiers) use grenadiers coat.
- Festung Artillery remain his original design, but with new assets.
- Storm Doctrine got grey uniform to not overlap with Osttruppen.
- Blitzkrieg Doctrine got regular German uniform.
- Updated officer hat.
- Binoculars stand for howitzer in the doctrine.
- Cross stands for art officer or Jaeger command squad.

USF

Airbourne Commanders

- Uses Airborne outfits
- Adjusted location of Airborne company commander
- Added shadows for Airborne company commander

Infantry commanders

- Use Riflemam or Ranger outfits
- Urban Assault Company changed airborne outfits on ranger outfits.
- Added shadow from helmet for Urban Assault Comapny
- Heavy Cavarly Company got USF background
- Rifle Company got adjusted location
These commanders got number of adjustments in location. Heavy Cav Company got USF background and updated mini version to match with other commanders. Urban Assault Comapny changes airborne outfits on Ranger one to match with Heavy Cav Company. Additionally, were added proper shadow from the helmet to match with other commanders.

Armor commanders

- Uses vehicle crew outfits.
- DLC commander got USF background
- Additionaly, we placed here alternative variant for MechCompany, since it's about vehicles and armor.

Artillery commander

We decided to not touch his main portrait, but adjusted the mini version to match with other commanders

British forces

Commandos commanders

We adjusted the DLC commandos regiment commander to match with other commandos regiments. Additionally, we added shadow on his face to be more polished

"Officer" commanders

We adjusted the fortification regiment commanders in terms of location to be more in line with other commanders.

Armored commanders

We cahnged the outfits of the lend-lease commander, since it's doesn't have any connection with commando and artillery and mainly contain abilities, connected with vehicles. Of course the face remain, but got some touch in terms of shadows and colofullnes. Finally, commander got UKF backfround.

Untouched coomader

OKW

Tank destroyer commanders

OKW has two commanders based on fighting with heavy tanks. Following the design of Ostheer commanders (poncho for tank destroyers, binoculars for artillery commanders, knight cross for commanders with officier), we adjusted two OKW commanders. Our thanks goes to RitaRush for her help.

Jaeger commanders

These commanders are in line with Ostheer Jaeger commander, but with OKW assets. As before, commander with artillery has binoculars.

Obers commanders

There is two commanders, based on command tanks, obersoldaten upgrades and some other "elite" upgrades. That's why we decided to give them SS oak leaf panzer jacket (without any SS insignia of course). By the way, we couldn't decide on which version of Grand Offesive commander should be used, that's why we post two variants - with original angle and adjusted one (match with other commanders).
Special thanks goes to RitaRush for amazing assets for these commanders.

Unique/untouched commanders

These commanders remain their original assets, we only adjusted their location, and add some additional assets for Elite Armor doctrine. Feuerstorm doctrine didn't get any updated for main version of the portrait.

Question is simple. If it was possible, do you want to see them in the game?
Some commanders will be updated to match with new ability roaster, since announced commanders patch is huge.

Main goal - standartisation in location, colors, and used assets on the portrait, so you can clearly recognise type of the commander.
Here are two examples with Tiger and Guards commanders. As you can see, they now have a standardised look (coat/cape) for the key commander ability/theme.

I like the original soviet commander portraits because of their serious, unsaturated, gritty, and almost boring feel.

I do not like the oversaturation of soviet commanders. They have too much color.

The portrait system to ID what commander your using is...lets just say subpar generally speaking...but these new portraits are a significant improvement on the current ones. I say yes!

It's an alright system if you have a small number of Commanders, you can get an idea of who has what by their uniforms and such. CoH2, mostly Ostheer and Soviets, just have way too many and most of them are just guys in officer uniforms.

Relic should be paying you for this, holy shit.

This is some really high quality stuff and I also really like your idea for the categorization of commanders as well.

Albeit there's the problem of a unit being removed or added to them with that.

So for example if the commander on the portrait has binoculars but his artillery gets removed then yeah...

But otherwise the new portraits are just more uniform and look superbly.

Yes, these are great.

Although I love the portraits and the idea it might be going a bit to far.

I would agree with change that made Tiger commander to have tank crew uniform or Artillery commanders to wear artillery uniforms but imo that is enough.

I think polishing the existing ones many of which are off-position or have inconsistent filters applied to them (all previous commander patch portraits) would be a much more acceptable proposition to Relic.
