the lmg arguably outclasses PPSH cons now... not only are they similarly priced post nerf (ppsh cons used to be 45 muni) but LMG cons still retain the combat advantage due to punishing long range DPS and synergy with the MG42...

PPSH allow cons to stay rufly at the same powerlevel as they are in early game against grens, in other words grens would win at long range, cons would win at close range. Thats pretty much its whole point.

Aside from that PPSH package changes nothing in general. Point is being that with other options soviet player can have, even considering commander options, PPSH ones are just not preferable.

Fast PGs are the thing, because ppl skip T1, ppl skip T1 because they pick osttroppens\sturmgrenadiers paired with MG42, they pick them because stock grens are shit vs USF\UKF.

The only sole reason to go for T1 - either you want sniper paired with osts or you want 5 men grenadriers. Even PGs in HQ just reinforced supperiority of meta commanders and T1 skip.

Cons arent working against OKW that good, Grens arent working against USF\UKF. Ost was given so many abusable combos to make them playble, instead of just ajusting Grenadiers against WFA armies, and cons repectively vs OKW.

Well 50cal has same problem, but in lesser extend, I dont think honestly its a deliberate feature, but even if it was, it was made for old maxim which is long gone.

Honeslty some of pro-modders should comment on this in one final statement. Because coh2 mod tools is a mess, and a lot of people think something is possible\impossible to fix, me included. Because it might possible to fix, or think of a gimmic to fix it.

So in your world deathlooping a retreating maxim is the same as flanking an mg42/34 and killing it at close range?

Do we agree that deathloop is a bug in a first place and it should have been fixed ages ago? Start from that.

In the game maxim has 2 animation states, one with bipod and one without. In and our of cover respectively.

What can be done is, add it ability to deploy it always on bipod with firing arc matching in building firing arc, but increasing deploy and redeploy time.

But at the same time 6 men crew preventing maxim from having any sugnicant buffs, because in any scenario when player reacts in time, there is no way to decrew full HP maxim with 1 squads and without nades, if there is no deathloop.

While maxim is by far weakest MG when compared to other MGs, at the same time is hardest to decrew, at least untill mid\late game, aswell as merge ability allows you soft retreat it and nades are deadly only if models are bunched up togeather what is happening sugnificantly rarely when compared to other MGs. Aside from fast deloy\redeloy time this was pretty much the sole reason why maxim spam existed, since even if you made a mistake and let enemy flank you early on, you would still survive and retreat it.

Point is being to put maxim perfomance closer to being on pair with other MGs, would requare it survivability to be somewhat on pair with other MGs.
