The buff was well deserved. What's more, it wasn't even a plain buff, in fact the su-85 is now significantly worse against medium armour, due to lower RoF. It's also worth mentioning that it has the highest teching cost of all allied TDs and has no turret, making its window of opportunity pretty short, as JT and Ele hardcounter it really bad. |
I played versus a brit player that totally bunkered down into simcity on langreskya. He build an early mortar pit that wiped a full health gren squad straight of the bat. He then got a huge chunk of the map because the mortar denied any of my weapon teams to help me control the map, so I constantly had to micro the lot.
I eventually destroyed the mortar pit with double 222 and pak 40 support, but by then he had gotten so much map control for quite some time that the first cromwell rolled out. I managed to beat it back with my pak 40s but then he made a new mortar pit, a bit further back and protected it with tommies, a vickers and a 6 pounder. The infantry and mgs were all in trenches.
He then build a bofors near the western vp and put a bren lgm tommie squad in a trench supported by the 6 pounder. I tried to react with double mortars, but you guesssed it: counter battery. It could hit everywhere and even into some parts of my base sector...
If you look at the image, you can see on the minimap display the entirety of his simcity efforts. The mortar pit kept pushing my mgs around, the counter barrage prohibited my counter light artillery and his lgm infantry and his cromwell kept me at bay. There was in my mind literally nothing I could do..
So, how do you counter this? He didn't have to micro anything apart from moving his units and tanks here and there. This seems really really broken..

The simple answer, I believe, is that the standard reinforce cost is the squad's price halved and divided by the model count.
So (240/2)/4 = 30.
I forget but there may be certain exceptions where they cost less.
Also for support weapons the weapon itself is factored in such that models cost less to reinforce. I'm sure a strategist could clarify this easily for you.
Now for opinion. Greens are fine
Only some okw (the special snowflake as some say) infantry has non-standard reinforce cost, for absolutely no reason. It's for sure sturmpioneers and falls, not sure about the jeagers. In fact all units should have the standard reinforcement cost.
But you are right, grens are fine. It's some other units that they fight that have gone the wrong way during ballance process. |

Anyone else noticed that the forum turned quite polite? There has been a lot less insults and people actually use arguments to make their points. I think he should have been banned permanently. There were barely posts where he didn´t insult anyone in his passive agressive manner.
Never happened to be insulted by him in any way. I don't know why he got the ban, probably its a deserved one, but I remember many forum members that were actually problematic, katitof is hard to fight against and somewhat biased but when you take this specific 'style' of his into consideration you can often really read some truth about the game in his posts. |
Soviets are generally fixed now, so you should stop looking for cheesy strats. The penals and t-34 are really good at last, try these units in game, you may not have thought about these as they were in no go zone before. |
Its most probably not that hard to do from implementation perspective but it may and probably will introduce a lot of ballance issues, sadly. I like the idea as a concept though. |
The tommies is balanced up to the point where they get double bren.
rifleman is balanced unless they get double m1919a6. the Higher defensive vet is balanced if they are using the bar but they become terminators with the dual m1919a6.
basically double lmg breaks the balance.
So would it be a solution to just make all lmgs use 2 weapon slots? This would also solve the "gren terminator" unit problem that sometimes shows up when grens die and drop their lmg for another gren squad. |
I think the t70/luchs and most light vehicles are too powerful for how fast they hit the field.
90% of 1v1 and a lot of 2v2 games are determined by how well you use your light vehicle and how fast you kill theirs, not really fun or skillful dynamic when the game is so imbalanced.
It's not LVs that come too early, it's medium tanks that come too late, so LVs have no real counter for extended period of time.
There was a whole series of patches when relic said in the patch notes that they feel LV play is not emphasised enough and so they increased the teching cost of all factions but okw. Then, the okw got redesigned also reciving increased teching cost.
That was when relic screw it up and so the solution should be to reverting these changes. Just lower the price of usf/ost T3, okw flak truck and soviet T4 and it is going to be ok. For ost it would be a good idea to lower the price of BP, not the building. |

Allies instantly equip AT weapons at base to counter you as soon as you call in an armoured car, you have to wait for your Pak to build or for 120 Munitions and timer for your panzerschreks.

I don't really know how you came to the conclusion that this game is aimed to be historically accurate but it is not, it never was and never is going to be, just becouse we need fun, ballanced and bugfree game not a time machine and these should be the priorities.
Also I read only quickly through them, but almost all of your statements are wrong in current game state.
Btw, nobody forbids you playing coh2 or coh1 mods, they are just as available as they always were, some of them are more polished, like EF. |
