Thread: Gridkeys + WASD or not?3 Aug 2016, 23:03 PM Personally I use classic with ctrl hotkeys assigned individually on all non-support weapon squads for double tap camera changes, use the minimap occasionally for camera changes, and use mmb for small camera changes. I feel like whatever style gets the job done is ok though. I see a lot of streamers use the tac map and never use control groups. That seems unnatural to me but they obviously perform just fine so I ain't hating. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Kubel worth buying?15 Jul 2016, 21:19 PM Ive joined the kubel-volk*x club lately. Kubel and Sturm gives you a good forward assault team for a key fuel or cutoff while folks cap the rest safely. Timing is critical on aggressive starts, so getting it first let's it speed forward to push off a weak capping unit or whittle down a front line squad for Sturm to finish. Also the kubel CAN last a while, just needs some strong micro-fu. Great for baits too, as was said earlier. Consider the morale damage to your opponent when they lose their own light vehicle because they ragingly tried to chase down your little 210 mp cheese wagon . In: OKW Strategies
Thread: USF didn't need a mortar.15 Jul 2016, 21:08 PM To reiterate what many have said, the concept of a us t0 mortar is good. The power at the moment is not. I'm most in favor of reducing damage/aoe. Having an early option to indirectly pressure static mgs is a good idea, but it shouldn't overshadow the cpt tier pack howitzer, which should be the tool to punch through anything on its own. Once it's balanced it will have effectively added strategic diversity as they intended, but when it's the best option overall that only reduces diversity. In: COH2 Balance

You have to gauge whether you will have the reliable fuel income for luchs rush, go leigs to whittle down his sim city, or set up your own pseudo Brit army with lmg 34s and just try to outnumber him in engagements and use your advantage of accessible grenades and Faust's. Back to your problem with IS and combined arms, outside of what was already mentioned, you have to find a way to pull off effective assaults, which is not an easy tactic to describe in the time I have ATM. Sometimes I will pay closer attention to getting munitions in the early mid game because these are what allow you to push through in engagements like you describe. In: OKW Strategies
Thread: 1v1 versus UKF15 Jul 2016, 16:09 PM Isgs actually are pretty good in the right scenario, but I usually go for 2 if I get them at all. 2 will pressure emplacements forcefully and deal with upgraded Tommies and mgs that love to hug their sandbags. Thread: Aiming (wots dat?) with the Stuka zu Fuss14 Jul 2016, 23:33 PM The stuka has a lined aoe (creeping barrage) aimer with six rockets. 200 damage and good aoe per rocket make it great vs blobs, support weapons, and structures. With its linear pattern you want to use it to catch more mobile squads in their predicted (often times their retreat) path. The rockets still seem to have some scatter though, and I often times will completely miss important weapon teams with the stuka, flubbing the engagement while i pout over its long cooldown. My question is how do you aim for specific targets like at guns or hmgs with the stuka? Previously i would just place one end of the line on the enemy, imagining the half circle on the end to be one rocket's aoe, but recently i've noticed how inconsistent that is. I know that terrain and elevation can influence the landing, but after years(!) of playing OKW here and there I still dont fully understand it. In: OKW Strategies
Thread: Ostheer grenadiers in 1v111 Jul 2016, 17:02 PM The simple answer, I believe, is that the standard reinforce cost is the squad's price halved and divided by the model count. So (240/2)/4 = 30. I forget but there may be certain exceptions where they cost less. Also for support weapons the weapon itself is factored in such that models cost less to reinforce. I'm sure a strategist could clarify this easily for you. Now for opinion. Greens are fine In: COH2 Balance
