40 mp is significant enough. trying to dismiss the importance of 40 mp is idiotic considering how much people were crying about the 6 pounder being cheaper to begin with.
I never complained about the 6pdr being too cheap. Its a unit that you usuall only ever build 1-2 of with no real follow up costs. Having to spend +-80MP in an entire game with no other factors changed is negligible. Unlike having to spend fuel or having to wait for a tech to finish, the delay is minimal.
According to brit player consensus: bofors/aec suck, nobodys going to get them. Piats suck as well. Hammer/anvil is after centaur/cromwell, so that leaves us with 50 fuel max as sidetechs (which is reasonable i guess). With tech costs that amounts to roughly 200 fuel before you can start building the first tank. For ost 200 fuel is what you need for the t3 building and the p4 alone, let alone teching costs and previous tiers. The teching itself and base building build time is also way higher. The mere chance of a tank appearing when you're still several minutes away from your earliest possible tank forces you to go t2 as ost, which in turn delays tanks. And so on and so forth... |
first: imagine a gren squad that can not only faust you, but also could potentially have double schrecks equipped. not imagine the combination of faust and double schreck being cheaper than the schreck upgrade on pgrens alone.
if you think thats OP, then vote NO on this thread, because that basically is what you would be giving brits, despite their super strong late game.
also, @Firesparks, the "nerf" to the 6pdr was not a direct nerf to the 6pdr (its stats remained untouched), it was more a nerf to the amount of fieldable units of the brits. the 6pdr still performs EXACTLY the same way it did before, the MP cost increase only delayed the appearance of the 6pdr (and all subsequent units) by roughly 10-15 seconds. and if you think 10-15 seconds is a big deal, pls test the earliest possible times for both cromwell and (ost) p4 in a custom game and try to justify that. |
If there going to fix anything fix it so the weapon racks are always closest to the front of the battlefield thats annoying to have to run to the back of your base more so for USF base.
super annoying... also, i wouldn't add weapon racks for germans, especially not for Ostheer. would open a pandoras box for balance issues (image grens with faust and schreck...) |
Croc is getting penta nerf after just receiving tripple or quadra nerf
Balance head's mom at relic always told him "whatever you do in life, always do your best" and in this case, its Guiness record for most nerfs in shortest amount of time for
-brits
-croc
And in January
-OKW
and you know whats funny? even the staunchest defenders of brits only negative comments about the croc is "it will be too expensive"
says a lot about the state of the croc at release. |
u're right, but what light vehicle can have such an effect on OKW?! mainly soviet's or USF's right? by the time soviet's t70/m5 hits (7-9 mins) or the USF's m20 (5 min) or AA truch or Stuart (7-8mins), don't u think OKW player can easily equip enough shrecks (and easily afford a rocketen at t0) to deal with them at ease not to be crashed by the light vehicle?!!! and if not it's the mistake by OKW player
so wait... okw not having volks with upgraded schrecks and raketen in the same place its an obvious mistake, but if the brit doesnt have his sniper covered with a 6pdr, the brits need a snare? sounds fair... |
I don't know why your comparing Ost bunkers to Brit emplacements. 1 is MG based more like USF emplacement. The other is a mortar. They serve two different things for two different factions which both are designed around.
USF emplacement cannot brace
USF emplacement is not useful behind shot blockers
USF emplacement is not long range and can easily be avoided
see how i did that
USF emplacement can be destroyed by 1 incediary nade, there fore OST bunkers should be destroyed by 1 molotov
you do realise that it was katitof that brought up the ost bunker? |
Thx Cookiez for keeping this up-to-date. Sarantini's original effort was so colossal. I'm sure he would think you are doing him and this piece proud.
Hey Relic, how about just putting the numbers visible in the game, somewhere. Replace the vague hover descriptions with precise ones and you would do your game and everybody who plays it a great favor!
Too busy adding in-game leaderboards. I mean, who cares about these boring numbers anyway ;-)
Luckily this game has a community. :-) |
Actually, I think it is based off the initial target. I tested and saw a squad in green cover suppressed by an HMG42 in two bursts when a squad out of cover is targeted nearby them (this also works with targeting vehicles) - this certainly never happens when a squad in green cover is targeted by the HMG itself.
actually, i've also seen squads in green cover get pinned fairly quickly, but, to be fair, that might be because 2 members of the squad are actually in green cover (so the squad gets the green shield) and the rest of the squad is just chilling somewhere else. thats one reason why i often prefer bomb craters (yellow cover) over small green cover, simply because it is so much bigger and you KNOW that all members will get the cover. |
Is it replay Esxile asked for? IMO it is not.
So what are you, guys, actually trying to discuss?
he claimed that it was impossible for a blob to get into grenade range vs. a single MG42. to prove that claim wrong, i let 3 rifle squads run straight into an MG, 2 squads got suppressed, 2 squads got into range. i tried it several times actually (i just made that 1 video) and at least 1 squad ALWAYS got into range.
then it was claimed that "there must have been a bug"... and other ridiculous stuff, that was besides the point anyway. |
@Crawler: shooting the rifle in the middle instead of the one in the left and everything would had changed.
Second burst on the other squad and reposition.
While it can be considered a blob it's not what you were asked before.
"Let's assume blob start with 3 units closely packed."
Because in that case AoE would had dealt with all 3 squads.
PD: a blob of 3 or more squads will always deal with any MG. MG are not bunkers.
just fyi: the 3 units were as closely packed as the game lets me do it without stacking them on top of each other by hand. i doubt ANYBODY, EVER does that.
the equivalent would be saying that a sexton can instawipe oneshot 30 gren squads, if all entities take up the same place. its a theoretical situation that doesnt exist in the game. i also doubt that shooting the rifle in the middle would have changed a lot, since after suppressing that one, the MG would have had to suppress either the squad to the left or right, but would still not be able to suppress both before either enters grenade range. |
