I can't wait what'll happen when vipper will find out about the existence of armored assault commander, which features not only premium med, but a heavy tank as well.
I've always felt those are fairly redundant, it's hard to actually have the money to pay for T-34-85's and IS-2's ontop of your standing army. I suppose it's more of a 4v4 Commander then. |

It used to be Close Air Support and Advanced Warfare, it was changed to points at some point and those commanders were added to the store. |

The only leftovers from CoH in CoH2 are some structures, like the 25 pounder's emplacement, medic station for the US Army, some animations and so on, but sadly no vehicles.
Don't know if they're still there, but there used to be fragments of old models like the Stuka rocket carriage and the engine panels to a tank. There also used to be a CoH1 Puma model, and it even existing alongside the new Puma for a short time, but the model was removed from the files when Western Front Armies came out. In fact a few bits and pieces of old junk were removed when WFA came out, sadly I don't have any of it really documented, most of it was nothing anyway. |
The Scoped Rifle section should just behave like Jeagers / Pathfinders and pick off models that are injured. |
Maybe they should change the name from Stormtroopers, because they're not supposed to 'storm' anything, they're ambush troops. Pop their ability and they destroy whatever's infront of them sort of elite assault troops. |
The element I pointed out that was mainly historical was conscripts not provided all with weapons. Some were equipped while others were not. That is historical.
Troops did not enter combat unarmed, that's a myth spawned by Enemy at the Gates and reinforced by Call of Duty. While there were probably troops that did not have weapons, they would be recruits and not frontoviki (frontline troops). |
Mirror balance would work out nicely.
Give all allies strong T0 MGs, and T0 Mainline inf AT options.
Then give everyone 6 man infantry with 2x LMG upgrades and on-field healing.
Buffing conscripts to be equal to 6x men grenadiers. Giving bolster to everyone, and
MG bunkers to everyone and end-game Panther equivalent (same stats) to everyone.
(And buff everyone's LMGs to be equal to LMG42)
You either want mirrored factions, or you don't.
If that's what you want, don't be shy, go all the way.
There's considerably middle-ground between exact mirrored factions and having factions that can simply out-tech their opponents. |

its interesting that armed the ability to do this, often "completely gut the unit/ability and remove it from the game" seems to be the prefered way to go when nerfing AI units
That's a silly complaint since it'll fire the follow up shot roughly .3 seconds afterward. You wouldn't even have noticed it if they didn't say something. |
Or we factor in the additional cost of bolstering and weapon racks spread accross the four or so tommie squads an army will reasonably consist of. With all the extra resource and pop cap spent on british mainline you can bring out a support weapon or two for the tommies to be bad against.
That's not a fair comparison because Grenadiers don't even have the option to be bolstered or run around with 2 Machine Guns, no matter how many resources you have you will never get these things. It's the same problem Conscripts have, lacking any weapon upgrades while going up against LMG and StuG troops.
The way I see it is Grenadiers are the gold standard that everything else is balanced around, so maybe Bolstered LMG Sections need toned down and Conscripts need a weapon upgrade, rather than changing Grenadiers in any drastic manner. |
