I miss the precision barrage. It wasn't really any stronger than a medium-close Panzerwerfer strike, yet was still they removed it. A huge shame, considering the Panzerwerfer can do the same thing as it's default strike, if you are willing to get a bit close.
The least they can do is replace it with a rapid barrage, fire the entire volley with no pauses (although personally I feel like this should be the default fire mode). |
These campaigns are severely depreciated. One amusing note is that in at least one of them you can get 2 different KV-1's, the single-player version can be built from the tank factory while the multiplayer version can be called in. Now that the MP version is tied to tech, I can't confirm whether or not it's still available in ToW.
The ToW in general seem to have some odd balance issues, I remember at least one of them just relentlessly threw units at you (that the AI gets free in bulk from off-map, in addition to the ones it builds) and it was nearly impossible to beat by playing fair. Me and my friend beat it after many attempts by ignoring the objectives and destroying their HQ. |
I've had the MG thing happen recently too, actually. Wanted it to set up behind a log covering the edge of the map and a nearby approach. It instead set up about 5 meters away leaving a sizable gab between the edge of the arch and the end of the map. I reissued the set up order and it did so properly. |
Yeah, they gain the same offensive stats as the squad they merge with. On the other hand, the Conscript model himself does not gain the stats of the Shocks / Guards, so a Shock Troop squad made entirely of merged Conscripts will die to gunfire as fast as a standard Conscript squad. |
I miss the IS-2 and it's 122mm gun doing 240 damage a shot. I think that should come back to bridge the disparity between Allied heavies and OKW heavies. The IS-2 and Tiger II were on fairly equal footing, but in-game the IS-2 does half the damage and has much lower health. I don't agree with the notion that Relic are Nazis, but it's hard to argue that they weren't wehring out (pun on weebing out) at least a little bit when designing OKW. |
P.S. Assault grenadiers are bad example, their shieldsymbol is exception, no other shieldsymbol in the game have weapons like that.
Technically untrue, aside from the obvious examples like Conscripts and Riflemen, there is a niche example in the case of the Frontoviki from Campaign which use crossed PPSh as opposed to crossed Mosins. That said I have no problem with the current design as it is based in reality. |

You're not going to be driving the IR HT around detecting units in the FoW like a 222.
Honestly though, this ability is total garbage for the IR HT. It should be replaced with something else like single pass recon, loiter, offmap smoke drop, or mark target, etc.
Mark Target would be really cool if the spotlight tracks the enemy tank and gives an accuracy bonus to attacking units. |
I just want the Panzerwerfer back in T3 because the voiceover still says "And Rocket Artillery" when you tech, and it's wrong. |
Either Elite Schreck as I suggested a couple of days ago or make it non-exclusive with the sweeper.
I like the Elite Schreck idea for Sturmpioneers and Stormtroopers, although I think maybe it should be veteran locked for Sturms. |
