Ost needs to deal with 120's quickly. They are giant mp bleeds that can wipe whole squads which will win the game for the Soviets quickly.
Consider getting a mortar HT next time while constantly falling back with inf. Moving your units back every time they fire will cause him to move forward to reengage hopefully under a falling 120 shell.
Flame HT are a defensive unit now that they have heavily nerfed.
I would also consider getting a sniper very early in this patch so you can start to drop high value infantry units quickly and bleed his mp. You cannot stop the deploying of 120's but you can slow it down, and give you more time to build up enough forces to break through to it and kill the crew. Always, destroy or take the 120 mortar. If I still could make mines as German I would mine them with cheap mines as I used to do to decrewed 57's in vCOH.
This strategy is very common in 2v2, and very tiresome. The 120 spam with elite troops is really annoying. I think the movement of elite troops, and both mortar units (ost and soviet) to 2 cp's again is important. They outshine the T1 units and allowing them so early makes for, no surprise, off map call in spam. |

Lol ok thanks for the pro tip. Now point me at the doctrine that has both STs and Guards.
Can you even see your hand in front of your face when you are surronded by all that bias?
Again button is far to expensive to be the only thing a 360 mp unit can bring to the table. If this wss their point they should have targer weakpoint nit button. Something that cannot be interupted. Or they need a buff somewhere else or a price decrease. Guards are in a price catrgory of elite infantry but in most cases arent as useful as conscripts.
360MP large vet requirement due to cost 100 muni and a high reinforce i would expect much more than a gimped vet 1 german ability....
I don't have to point you to one doc. You get to pick one that's the point. Guards and shocks are so good you have to pick one. You still did not explain why if you saw lots of lmg grens you went with guards. Guards are good at many things, but not great at any one. Shocks are great at AI. If you are fighting inf then don't complain guards aren't perfect. |
I don't take them out with that. I need Maxims before I am at 1 CP and often I have to consider to get a Zis first to take out bunkers and prepare for the flamer HT.
That is only team games, I might add. I was at place 400 in ladder in 2on2 (dropped to something like 500 to 800? don't know). This might not be considered top tier but I think I am far advanced over "learning to use fundamentals"
edit:
but shocks do provide an edge after aGrens were on the advance.
How can he also have bunkers? Of course if he has bunkers and Agrens you need to apply more pressure. You don't need a zis to take out bunkers you should have other options. You can use flames or mortars (slowly) or guards, even penals with satchels. Again if he is dumping munitions (into emplacements in this case) he does not have them available for flame ht. |
I don't know if this point has been raised before
BUT let me add this anyway, even if it might already have been mentioned:
At least in 2vs2 assGrens are spammed heavily, and shocks are the only thing other than maxim spam to stop this. In 2on2, it's usually assGrens and bunkers at chokes into flamer HT. Shocks give you a very small window, not to stop this but to not get dominated.
I don't know how this behaves in 1on1, but team games favour germans more. From 2on2, where it's slightly noticable to 4vs4, where Ostheer dominates.
I really like my shocks at 1 CP there.
Agrens are very easy to handle with either T1 or T2. They just prevent conscript spam, even there it is still possible on some maps. If you are relying on elite troops to take out Agrens you really need to go back and learn to use the fundamentals of the game.
I play plenty of mutli player (2v2+) Agrens are used on occasionally in my experience. |

If you are having trouble with guards you are not using them correctly.
Button is one ability in a list of pro's that guards bring to the table.
Pro tip, if you are fighting lmg grens go with shocks, he has no munitions for flame HT. |
Agreed, percent chance on squad wipe. |
Let`s say the truth Basi, the Americans didn`t want to join the war because it wasn`t their war. They only joined when it was sure that the Nazi Germany is going to loose because of the 2 fronts. They saw the oportunity to kill 2 birds with 1 stone (Nazi and Communists) let them fight inflict as much damage as possible to each other so the great USA could bring democracy to them
This is too broad. There were people in the US who wished to remain out of the war, but there were plenty who did wish to go to war. Roosevelt was an ardent war supporter, and before the US even joined the war many US citizens were fighting the Axis.
Also it was certainly not clear in winter 1941 that Germany would lose the war. That was only made clear in the winter of 1942. |
No, the Soviets won by being better
Numbers did not after all avail them anything in 1941.
This idea was understandable when the major source on the War in the East was the self-serving memoirs of German Generals, but we have had access to more balanced sources since then.
We are not required to believe the traditional narrative that:
"We were vastly outnumbered but nevertheless the German Army won a string of victories from Moscow all the way to Berlin because we are so awesome, and we would still have won had it not been for that meddling Hitler"
The traditional narrative you describe is there for a reason. Even late in 1945 the Germans were organizing effective counter attacks that the Soviet army was struggling to defeat. The German army was a better unit, and would have won the war for Germany had Hitler not intervened multiple times at critical moments. In addition, the Soviet army did win by brute strength, tactics were difficult to teach to mostly illiterate peasants. |
You really should not struggle to get vet with Soviet mortar. Place it well back and let it pick off units as they try to cap. It will vet quickly. I never have a problem getting vet 1 on any mortar against humans. |
They should increase the cost, and then increase the units health and damage. This should offer Ost a light anti infantry unit to deal with large numbers of infantry heavy armies that do not include Guards.
Right now this car is a counter to only one unit (Soviet Scout Car) and is completely useless against even a single con squad with at nades. Since they come early I have no idea how to get AC on field before AT nades.
Also repair cost MP and time for sure. |
