Thread: Tiger Ace Call-in7 Jan 2014, 00:21 AM
Just played a user created map (Gauntlet) 3v3 against 3 comps all on expert. Two humans and 1 normal comp on the other side. Expert comps all went Elite, and called in 3 Tiger aces each (for a total of 9). Not sure if this just happens on this user map, dev mode was not enabled. In: COH2 Bugs |

No plan survives first contact with the enemy. Rommel was a smart man. And you are not a heretic casual for liking RNG. All RNG is not bad for COH, vCOH demonstrated that well. All Rainman is trying to do is make sure that rare events do not dictate an entire game. Rather the better player can walk out the victor. An early squad wipe from a mine could mean the game, and that is simply not fun. To take this point to its most absurd (simply for demonstration purposes) you could make a 1% chance that at the start of every game the Soviet player automatically won before the match loaded. That would increase RNG but would be very "unfun". In: COH2 Balance |

If your plan fails because of the RNG gods then maybe it wasn't such a good plan. This does not make sense. So if I shoot down a plane and it randomly crashes into my tank and kills it I should not have tried to shoot it down? Or if a hoorahing conscript at nades my Tiger from the front and gets heavy engine damage I should not use the Tiger? Or if a flame thrower randomly crits 4 members of an MG team as it tries to retreat, even when the squad is suppressed I was outplayed? So forth and so on. RNG plays too large a role in this game. I need some explanation (I play soviet almost exclusively). You are not required to counter Agrens with multiple units, you can counter it with one (single mg, sniper, penal). The point here is because your opponent has changed his style it probably behooves you to do likewise. Shocks are different they require multiple units to stop a single group, are hard counters to all T1 (except sniper) and very good against all T2 (even HT before upgrade) making them truly an elite unit. Getting it out almost as soon as game starts is not fair. Agrens are a strategy changer, they have many early counters. Shocks really do not. In: COH2 Balance |

I have invested quite a bit of time in this game, and it is not as good as vCOH was at the end of its life cycle (as to be expected), but I don't think this game has the potential to be that good either. The multiplayer is often laggy, from both limited netcode and few players online. Leaderboards are here now, and ok. Replay features are a step up from vCOH, but not that much. If you really loved vCOH you will probably enjoy pieces of this game. If you are looking for vCOH2013, you won't find it. In: COH2 Gameplay |

of course it doesnt contribute to armour fights, it isnt even equipped to do the job neither is its intended role in game was to take out tanks. place him behind ur lines to take out planes and stop infantry flanks. His point is that ostwinds are too expensive to have just for AA in the background. I agree very strongly. Storing an M3 further back so I can reinforce when needed is nothing like that. The M3 is designed to be off the front line. Its cost, mp and pop, reflect this. It also reinforces troops and can perform AA duty. Germans cannot afford to sit an ostwind on the map just in case a plane flies by. Ability to destroy light vehicles has nothing to do with this balance problem. In: COH2 Balance |

+1 Only thing I would change is potentially remove ram completely. This ability has little historic accuracy as it is implemented, and is far TOO random. I could survive with it as you stated. Also strongly agree heavy engine damage should be removed from fausts and mines. Can we also remove crits from frontal hits in tank battles. I.e. when a tank fires at another tank and hits its frontal armor (when the target is above 5%) and still gets a crit. Extremely random, very annoying. In: COH2 Balance |

Game would be playable if it wasn't for the fucking P2W bullshit. I mean, it is nowhere near as good as vCoH, and it would never be, but it would be fun and playable. The fucking DLC crap just ruins everything, EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! This is just rude, but the statement is correct. The DLC material is P2W, even when it gets nerfed later; it gives the player with it an advantage in between patches. Also for some reason Relic seems to make large changes that no one asked for in a couple of cases. However, if you are going to play ToW, campaign, and custom games you should get your money worth out of a $13 game. In: COH2 Gameplay |

But 1 squad getting gibbed + a full retreat for 240 munis seems pretty fair to me. In team games I often get 2 AC's upgunned as defacto AA guns, to save on fuel and pop cap. They work well on circling planes, which are the ones usually providing site for arty. Otherwise Precision strike with 203 is devastating. If you use a tank as a meat shield it always kills the gunner and does pretty good damage to the tank. You have to be really careful about that. In: COH2 Balance |

Even before guards became 1 cp, AC's were borderline useless. The 1 cp change was the final nail in the coffin. Seeing a buff to 20mm cannon would be cool, not even sure you would have to increase cost if this happened. It might also make the T70 more useful in standard play by allowing Ost player to field more AC's and give opportunity for Soviet to tech to T70 to hunt them down. I also agree upgrades to vehicles could be interesting. I would like to see the M3A1 become a true scout vehicle after the 5 min mark. In: COH2 Balance |
