He is right about the support crews they just sit there waiting to pack up for 2-3 seconds before they actually start. Its not lag because they will idle for a bit after the retreat symbol pops up. Mortars are the worst offenders.
If this is the OP's complaint I agree. If they are complaining that they got flanked well and whiped, no sympathy from me.
I find this very annoying, and am not sure. Almost as annoying as the bug where retreating units sometimes stop in combat and wait for 3-4 seconds.
@Sandreas, that is another annoying "feature". I believe that is to make the game more realistic, but I strongly agree that this should not be for weapon teams. Give them a pack up timer that once complete the remaining crew automatically begin to run back to back, and they get the gun even if none of them was physically touching it at that second. |

We all know flanking is skill, but the ISU152 right now is not really flankable.
Also I will say it one more time because so many people don't understand: You do not defend a unit by saying another is also broken!
Do not tell me because elephant is too good, or Puma is too good, or Brumbar is too good, that ISU 152 is fine. If the unit is broken on any side it needs to be fixed.
@Burts not even sure what circle strafe with a Stug means. Panthers hard counter it if they get within range and get behind. If they cannot get behind the ISU 152 wins. Single mine or an AT gun or a conscript throw balance heavily in 152's favor.
@FathersSon the Tiger still requires multiple shots to kill a unit, and have to do so at ranges that allow both players to know they are there. The ISU 152 is wholly different. |

So if I understand correctly:
The unit that next to nobody built before because it was basically considered a way to throw the game is now good so it gets used
And nobody knows how to play against it because they've never seen it before
So it must be OP

@VonMecha - one I played 4v4 as soviets with my mates. German called for elephant. We lost 2x IS-2 and 6x T34-85 to destroy 1 Elephant and 3 Panthers (Panthers went down but Elephant survived due to insane armor). If ISU wasnt buffed, Elephant would be totally invulnerable.
@Imagelessbean - destroy tanks in 2 shots? You definitely exaggerate. Even PzIV can stand more than 2 frontal hits.
So you decided to attack 4 heavy AT units with tanks, and you think you should have won? You don't counter Panthers and Elephants with big slow heavy tanks, you use guards, zis, and kats (shocks with shreks if you have them). My head hurt reading that.
It certainly can destroy tanks in two shots, mark target comes in a doc with this unit (not to mention docs that synergize with it extremely well). Also don't forget it regularly gets shocks on crews frequently giving it a chance to shoot another shot at a tank.
If you are having problems with it rotating too far have it attack ground at the area you think your enemy's real threat will come from. It will ignore the stupid pios and stay focused on the real threat.
You also failed to address my point that arguing one unit in a faction is OP therefore protects having an OP unit on the other side, which is out right ridiculous. |
I have rotated these out of my build order as well. For cost they are too high and I would rather place an lmg Gren on my flank, or if there are tons of infantry another 42.
Shocks devastate them and the smoke they throw negates better placement of the PG's before the fight.
Also if your opponent calls an ISU 152 have fun dropping shreks. |

Seriously though the ISU 152 is too good right now. You can call me a German fanboy if you wish, but having a unit that wipes squads and destroys tanks in two shots (which the elephant does not do) is wrong.
Also the argument that because elephant is possibly broken ISU 152 should be as well, is incredibly poorly constructed. Elephant makes no sense because it spots for itself, but in all seriousness I have never had a problem with elephants even in larger games.
The ISU 152 should not be able to wipe squads that is boring game play and poor design. I am all for the Soviets having intimidating units, but that should not come at the cost of forcing Germans to go elephant.
Also Australian to have a Brumbar + Elephant, you would need >600 fuel, so that should never happen. If you let your opponent get both that is your problem. To top that that means >50% of his army is in one spot on the map. Just drive somewhere else. |
Ohh yea, that such huge imbalances that was caused by osttruppen, counterattack, luftwaffe supply, lufftwaffe close air support, advanced warfare, both defensive doctrines, urban defense doctrine, partisan doctrine and mechanized assault.
Ohh the imbalances...
Absolutely nothing to do with 2 commanders only being batshit op and the rest being moderate/good at best.
Wow did you forget so quickly? Osttruppen were hugely OP when they were first released. They got hot fixed almost immediately.
All the other commanders you named were released in bundles with OP ones. The argument is not that if one is fine everything is golden. If ONE throws off the balance the game is unbalanced.
And I had to play against Windustry for 4 months with vanilla commanders, left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.
Instead of trying to troll me just relax.
Also post above is entirely correct.

I would like to remind people that all of the DLC to date post release has caused huge imbalances in the game. If you want to encourage Relic to balance first then look for a way to earn more money, I would recommend you hold off on preordering.
If things look good you will be able to get everything in some bundle sale for cheap. |
I voted yes to the first question, but if you had asked me two months ago I would have said no. However, Relic appears to be patching once a month with sound patches. It helps that only 2 new commanders have since been released.
I answered no to the second because there are numerous bugs introduced with patches that have not been fixed yet. Mortar bulletins, sniper bug, target weak point, etc. There is no real excuse for these.
I also answered yes for the last one. Relic does listen, they post regularly and they change balance to try to meet community needs. They definitely listen. Coming from the world of Halo where the developer literally says nothing, this is a breath of fresh air. They are not perfect, but I would much rather they get their jobs done then spend their time surfing the forums. |
The campaign was bad, boring, and not immerssive. It did not feel like you mattered to the story, and as far as I could tell my job was to watch a bunch of really corny cut scenes loosely based on reality.
It would have been so much better to take command of different companies all along the front and after completing a mission flip back and show you a cut scene with a tactical map. Then they could discuss the history of what was going on without delving into war crimes.
Yes war crimes happened on both sides, and were especially grievous in the Soviet and German states, but I don't want to play a game focusing on them. |
