Thread: [Developer] Map Improvement Poll29 Nov 2014, 14:19 PM The biggest concern for any map should be balance first. Many of the maps may have terrible layouts, but game breaking balance issues with maps must be fixed immediately. Players literally give bad reviews and quit the game because of these priority one issues. These unbalanced maps include: (2) Kholodny Ferma Cutoff favors one side over the other. I consider it a balance issue, but maybe it's the good part of the map favored by skilled players. It's a favorite of many. (2) Langreskaya Cutoff favors South side over the North. (2-4) Semoskiy OKW HQ can be used to block both bridge locations in the beginning of the match. This severely hinders the team that needs to wait a few minutes before they can break through. This may not be a balance issue but, why are the fuel point so close to the bases? (4-6) Rzhev Summer It's not in the list, but it deserves to be brought back improved. As you guys clearly noticed, it favors the Southern side. (6-8) Faceoff at Rostov The frozen river favors the Southern side. Southern side opponents can cut off both bridges and the ice with defending units, artillery, explosives, or bunkers. (6-8) Lienne Forest This map favors the Northern side. Southern side needs to cross the river to get from South side forest to North side. Munitions point for example can easily be defended with machine guns pointing at the river. Northern side of middle VP point also has access to green cover and a gigantic building. In: COH2 Gameplay

I'm using a Dell Ultrasharp 2913WM since it's release and it's the best monitor I've ever used for any kind of game. I got a 970 that is not bottlenecked by either ram or cpu and still only get around 45 fps on 1440p max settings. No clue how someone is supposed to run the game on 3 monitors at the same time, even if its just 1080p. The game is unoptimized as shit. DEFINITELY bottlenecked by your CPU. Company of Heroes 2 takes a HUGE load on the CPU. In: Lobby

I actually have no idea how it'll work. First of all the minimap is on the left monitor while the unit buttons are on the right monitor. I rarely use the minimap, I use the tactical map much more often. And I rarely use the unit buttons either, hotkeys instead. However, the biggest problem is panning. You'd need to go an extra monitor distance to simply pan to the right. I don't know if this will be a problem considering you also have that much field of view as well, requiring less panning. I'm running CoH2 on medium settings on a 2560x1440 with 1 (of 3) 7970s and it's not giving me consistent 60 fps that I'm used to. When streaming, that number goes down to maybe 40 with some choppiness and extra input delay. I'm not sure how that video is getting an average 45 FPS. Why only one out of three? Thread: Triple Monitor Display16 Oct 2014, 02:41 AM I've recently become very interested in getting two clones of my primary monitor display to get a wicked 81 inches of 7680 x 1440 display just for Company of Heroes 2. I have the ASUS PB278Q, for those interested in getting a quality monitor. However, I'm very skeptical about how I would actually implement this. First and foremost, I've been hearing rumors that Company of Heroes 2 isn't compatible with multiple GPUs. I don't know how true this, but I do know that some of my friends claim to have several GPUs for ther several monitors. I also know that there is a YouTube video presenting triple monitors: How in the world? I could've sworn I read Relic staff mention multi-GPU is not supported. And from this, I also assumed AMD Eyefinity and Nvidia 3D Surround were also unsupported. But may one of you guys know more than me about this. How many monitors do you play CoH 2 on? I play on a single monitor, but I do have an extra monitor to have a window of Facebook or YouTube on. Do you think the extra field of view from multi-monitor displays is cheating for Company of Heroes 2? I think it is "cheating." You get extra field of view. You get to see flanks coming in, or what your teammates are doing. Hell, it would probably help you micro more too. But if you consider this cheating, you would also consider keyboard and mouse macros cheating as well. In: Lobby
Thread: Everything Wrong with that Interview...14 Aug 2014, 00:52 AM Company of Heroes 2 is so great but as always Relic's marketing is non-existent, and the blatant side-effect to this is a puny community. The same problem arose during it's launch; you couldn't find any advertisements regarding it's release almost anywhere. I found out about CoH 2 through word and talk, unfortunately, not even it's trailer. Funny thing is I found out about the launch trailer a few months ago. But to get to the point, I really think you guys should invest in marketing. Talk with SEGA or anyone, just get the job done I love that you guys are an engaged company closely working to develop an amazing game, but all this effort is going to waste when the rest of the world isn't aware of your effort. Biggest problem with this interview, as Hans mentioned, is the lack of flashiness. The lack of a trailer for the campaign was a bummer. People lose any attention to listen about history and the development of the game; they just want to play and see why they should play your game. In: Lobby

Crossing is not a good example, I dont like to play as Germans in that map and I think you should veto, germans havent got chances. Thanks for the advice bro. Would you use Snipers against RtN Milk Please? Maxim has long range too which makes it pretty risky. Why veto though? I do realize it's pretty hard to flank on open ground, but yet again you want to tackle challenging maps and try using it against the Soviets if you're German.
