What do you mean when you say they're not "working?" If the goal is to be heard, then the discussions are absolutely working. You were very clearly heard on your conscript and airborne feedback too. So if that (being heard) isn't the goal, what actually is it?
I do not think so. people asked for an alternative test option for conscripts - silence.
I said that paratroopers without explosives are a useless appearance. They can only capture an empty point. A cache resource is built on the point - useless drop, you know that the winning point is covered by just one bunker and you need to capture it immediately - you will not do anything. It also remained unchanged. The paratroopers can not in a sudden strike - they come 15 seconds with a huge smoke screen, which even the blind will see, so what's the point of the appearance of the Airborne Forces in the rear? |
Dont forget about the silent majority. I know alot of people who, instead of being vocal and/or complaining, will just leave quietly if they dont like a change.
Because the discussion does not work. And I know a big bunch of people who love the game, but left the forum because the discussions are not working. And you can see it myself, I spoke above about the Conscipts and the Soviet airborne troops, but these things are simply ignored. |
Community exists outside of top streamers and 1v1 players so...no.
not saying i dont appreciate the effort and using your own time for it
I personally put new content above balance. Balance - does not exist, it has always been a game for six years, but it is still unbalanced and has become more boring because of the balance: many of the mechanics have been removed. New content is real, it is seen immediately and it forces you to return to the game. If Relic was developing new commanders and global changes, then this would be a lot more fun and incentive to play, after all Relic would in any case make new content of higher quality, than modders. |
Feel free to elaborate if you disagree, but I believe the general sentiment within the wider community is that the current game balance is the best it's ever been.
Are you sure there is a point in discussing? Many people wanted an alternative for 7 people, but this was taken silently and without appeal. I said that the appearance of the Soviet Airborne Forces in the rear is meaningless, they have nothing to do in the rear: you cannot even capture the point which is covered only by one bunker, because they don't even have explosives. But they have a ridiculous IL-2 strafe. |
Relic isn't going to devote paid staff to this.
We can have some competent modders do the work, or we can have nothing.
Then simply did not need to declare Relic thanks if Relic doesn't care about this gratitude. |
Correct, but this is also true for the regular balance mods. Can't simply copy the mod files into the game files. Everything in the game files has to be adjusted manually.
Yeah we should've just asked Relic to donate 1/4th of their employee budget to work on a game that's barely making them any money anymore. How stupid of us
I said about giving 1/4 of the studio staff? Not. This Relic thanks for the fact that the players support the game for 5 years. But this thanks is made by modders and not by Reliс, it was enough for a small group of people who worked on this thanks on it 1 hour a day, and in a year they would do more than modders (the British faction was done in one year, and this that Relik still created the Dawn of War 3). If what to do - do it qualitatively, or do not do at all. If the relic did not announce this thanks, we just continued to play in what we have and there would be no disappointment, I cannot say anything to the modders, they are doing everything they could but their strength and capabilities are not enough. |

July 3, 2018, for the year Relic gave all the work to modders, they themselves could create new commanders with new models, if this work was done by several employees for an hour or two hours a day. Just ridiculous. |
That a dev/publisher issue and has nothing to do with the game itself. You could had the exact same outcome with BF5 being a single player based game with crappy single player story and crappy multiplayer quality.
As opposed to your example I'll say DOTA2 is, in my opinion, a better example of a multiplayer game concept with single player elements that works very well.
And I think it is easier to introduce single player campaign to a multiplayer platform in form of scenarios or addition campaign that modeling or remodeling multiplayer into fitting players expectation.
Unfortunately, in most cases this will be repeated, it will give more reason for the greediness of the developers / publishers. Developing a single game is a big part of the job. By trimming a single-player game, it pushes developers / publishers to make less content and demand full price, so I consider this approach to be unprofitable for the buyer. |
Modern warfare works on wider scale than Coh2 has even proposed. I don't know how you expect to integrate the multitude of long range weapons and air weapons into a tiny battle map scale like proposed by coh.
The next iteration of COH should be design around featuring an RTS plateform proposing different game modes and an intelligent way for funding it over time.
COH1 & 2 have the same flaws here of not being able to propose anything balance outside of 1vs1 by victory points. Annihilation is not balanced, 2vs2 and above are not balanced and that's what is slowing the game right now.
I'm still convinced COHO was the right way to go in term of gaming platform design for an RTS game like COH. Next COH game must be a multiplayer game with some Solo content and not a Solo game with a multiplayer content. Then once this is settle, era of conflict can be addressed.
And looked at Battlefield 5: this is the full price game, in which the single player game was infringed upon in favor of multiplayer. And what is the result? War Stories is poor-quality and boring, multiplayer is poor-quality with minimal content, a new map every six months and one of them is of poor quality. Cooperative mode is the worst in the game series, Battleroyal is a failed and boring attempt to jump on the hype train. BF5 - only half a year later the game turned out what it should be on the release, and it still does not have the functions that we were promised: dragging wounded allies, paratroopers still do not have a parachute and German parachutists are British soldiers flying on C-47 .
No thanks, I will pay full price only for a game with a single story. |
Guards AI is currently close to that of Obers the fact that they might or might not be used does not mean that they "somehow viable".
If they are such OPs as you say, then why don't people use them? People love the OP, with the slightest hint of the fact that the OP Guard, they would be in every match. The Guard Commander has all the abilities: ML-20, T-34-85, mark. But no one uses the Guard, an amazing paradox. |
