Press retreat. With the 3-4 second delay, it's too risky to just move, because it may wipe out a lot of your squad. |
lol, you can easily cap back the map. They can't even run into your conscripts and survive (can't attack and shoot, and low health), so just stick with your capped points. |
Didn't believe it until now but Ostruppen spam is becoming problematic,my opponent had 3 squads out when I managed to call in just one Conscript squad...in other words,this is f*****d up...
You won't even encounter them in battle at that early stage of game. You could even avoid conflict and cap elsewhere, they can't offensively attack you (only defend together as a blob).
So yeah, they cap a bit more initially, that's just one stage in the game. However when you get 2-3 scripts, you can easily win all battles if they try to stick by that 'spam' (dramatically losing map control). Ostruppen need T1 mg42 support, can't survive on its own. |
I like them the way there are. Spamming 6+ ostruppen doesn't work, and it's not possible to get that many in first several minutes (maybe needs a cooldown increase). In COH1, spamming volks (which are far superior) wasn't viable neither.
It doesn't work because of the high upkeep involved, while also being not combat efficient. There'll be a lot of deaths (low KDR, huge reinf. drain) and these untis don't scale up well compared to balanced composition of weapon teams + grenadiers. Besides, ostruppen can't frontally assault without support, only get into position and defend. |
If ostruppen were to be similar to conscripts, then they are basically grenadiers. Even with its cheap price, it isn't worth spamming 4+, and upkeep is comparable to grenadiers.
I like the idea of ostruppen being like volksgrenadiers, defensive units that require good positioning. Aren't too good at raiding/attacking unsupported, so really needs MG42 or HT. |
Arty officer used to have 15% accuracy, -15% cooldown, -15% reload.

Just because your opponent wasn't good does't mean SC is too powerful. At even skill, i doubt it could reach vet 3 easily. 1 AT gun shot or 1 mine instakills it. Why didn't he have combined arms and a coscript near by to AT it.
Too vague, it's like saying I used a cheap ostruppen to kill a sniper because it was poorly positioned and not protected. |
New DLC commanders seem to just be a mix of old units that were already in single player.
Does anyone else feel that a panzerIII/II would've been more suitable for the "mechanised assault" commander than just a cheap STUGIII E replacement, because it kind off looks like they wanted to add a lighter tank with good AI (similar to T70).
So lazy that they didn't give DCE buyers for free, when they didn't even add any real new units/models/ or even unit responses ... |
Should all vehicles and weapon teams have the ability to hold fire? IMO, it would add more strategy/tactics to the game and allow more control for players. It just seems silly that "recon mode" for t70 and doctrinal camo only allows this indirectly/directly.
I find that autocover is fustrating for a lot of players, including myself. To me, it contributes to most of the instasquad deaths (from 120mm mortars for example, etc) and dancing about retreat (vulnerable to flamecars and satchel charges, etc), and seems too random. This is especially hard to deal with when there are things like 2 second command lag. Disabling it would promote/reward micro and control.

It's risky to recapture weapons close to enemy base, especially since germans have only 4 man squads even with FHT. I think decrewing is good to remove veterancy and delay their use of it for a while i guess.
I want a damage reduction from area of radius, move to 2CP and survivability nerf (right now it's 1 to 0.25, so change it to 1 to 0.1 since they are linear relationship for aoe dmg).
