Use an ostwind. Find any opportunity to flank and kill. Can use pioneers to find mines on roads. Typically not all players place mines at base, mostly on roads further away.
I've been able to force a retreat on snipers and flank into their base with and ostwind for an easy kill, especially with blitzkrieg.
Anyway, mid-late game you'll probably pool on manpower, so getting a HT and consistantly reinforcing while also trying to find opportunities to kill it is worth it.
However, I believe that soviet sniper should be extremely inaccurate when reduced to 1 man so it can't instantly countersnipe, won't be a major nerf. |
Barrage distance: 120mm is 120 range, while german is 80.
Both do 80 damage. German mortar has a far faster rate of fire (upt to 2-4 x faster), lower cost, faster vertical travel distance and 2/3 of blast radius.
It seems that the german mortar has 'some' chance against the 120mm. It does take more effort than the Soviet player though.
Set up the mortar directly behind a building/obstacle or green cover and place a halftrack nearby (not too close) for reinforce?
Are any of the mortar bulletons worth it? like 3% damage or 3% health. The range doesn't work for barrage (I tested it). |

Why buff 120mm mortar? It's already nearly x2 range of German mortar (almost completely making it useless) and spammable enough, don't need to further improve it's efficiency. |

You mentioned that the Ostheer players "keep making P4s". Well, they are they the only tanks that are at equivalent cost and time that they are produced (around 12 minutes).
SU85 reverse can reverse outspeed tanks AND infantry trying to catch up to it.
su85 can often snipe paks and infantry squads. It's not as effective as a T34, but it has longer range and a cone vision.
The only way infantry squads can run up to it is with a DOCTRINAL tactical movement ability.
If you don't kill the su85, it will gain veterancy and become an unstoppable monster. Finally, su85+snipers+120mm mortars have great synergy (su85 provides easy sight) to stop your "infantry/AT guns" trying to flank it, a further reason why you must kill su85s early.
Why should Ostheer be forced to have more micro and tactics while also using DOCTRINAL specific abilities/units to counter this easier spam. |
