I'm pretty sure if they were changing it they would have said so. I could be wrong, but I don't think the big pak has the same stats as the AT gun and it would receive different buffs, which the developers would state.
well now that the patch is out, i can confirm it did recieve the buff. it has always shared the accuracy stats with other AT guns. it is even found in the AT gun folder. |
Not misses, but what individual entity the soldier fires the weapon at, where the damage is applied.
Squad A firing on Squad X with regular rifles. What do they fire at, where is the damage concentrated in a squad to cause early deaths.
Easy enough with cannons and mortars since that's just where the round hits.
But I'm trying to figure out if stuff like the LMG spreads out the damage like a squad weapon, or if it really is applying all of its damage to just 1 soldier. And, if it will continue firing at the same selected target.
i have no idea how this works. im not sure, but i doubt this is related to individual unit stats. my guess is this has more to do with general unit AI. thats just a guess though. you could probably figure this one out just by observing your units closely in game. i dont think an lmg will switch entities until it kills the one it was shooting at. ive never really paid much attention.
So, was the PGren G43 changed in this patch too? Or is it just the Grenadier version which was mentioned in the notes? Now that the patch is live, can someone check this in the files?
If it's still at 30 damage, which G43 is overall better? I reckon the Gren one is slightly better at long range while the Pgren G43 is better at short range. Looking at the sheet, it doesn't seem worth it to upgrade it on Grenadiers if you got PGs at hand, seeing as you pay the same munitions price for both
i just checked. pgren g43 is unchanged. based purely on stats, i guess the pgren g43 is better. its barely worse at long range but much better at close range. the differece is the pgrens lose mp44s, which already do great dps at close range. so upgrading g43s on pgrens improved their long range dps, but actually hurts their near dps. g43s on grens is an upgrade in every way. based on that, id rather have g43s on grens and keep my pgrens for close range. it really comes down to preference though. |
the il2 is ridiculously strong now. i find it worse than the old german strafe honestly. that one didnt search the map finding a target, it only killed units that stayed in the smoke. the il2 will hunt your units down and kill them while they retreat. you can also call it somewhere that the enemy cant see (so they dont see the smoke) and the il2 can catch units off guard. ive also had panthers get engine damage from them since they have such a high rate of fire. its even killed a few panthers that were somewhat low on health. this plane can completely turn games around, although it can be countered by having enough ostwinds.
i would suggest reducing its search radius so it can actually be avoided. a slight penetration reduction might also be good. i know its a 23mm, but with its very high rate of fire, even a low chance to pen results in a lot of damage to tanks. this ability should only be strong against infantry, just like the german 37mm strafe is only useful against vehicles. even then, the german 37mm strafe is really lacking compared to the il2, so that could probably use a buff as well. |
Can someeone xplain to me exactly what the zis bug fix is?
what is reinforcement actions ? Is it a doctrinal ability or just regular reinforce?
and lastly do the zis bulletins apply also to the call in light at gun?
like omega said, the barrage was firing the incorrect number of shots.
reinforcement is just the regular reinforce. the soviet AT guns werent getting the 50% discount other units do. it should cost 360/6=60/2=30 mp to reinforce 1 man. i think it cost the full 60 mp last patch (or 33 for the 45mm).
pretty sure omega is wrong on this one, assault grens do benefit from grenadier bulletins. i think pqumsieh said this is because they share the same unit type.
EDIT: the zis and 45mm do not actually share the same unit type, so they dont share bulletins. endeav figured this out and demanded i give him credit. |
Are there any stats in there that determines how the weapon spreads its shots or targets? Or is that tied to an overall class for the weapon?
what type of weapon are you referring to?
for small arms, scatter is irrelevant. a missed shot will never become a hit because of scatter. scatter is just there to show bullets spraying, so we left those stats off.
for mortars/artillery, scatter is in columns N, O, and P. the distance scatter listed is the max distance scatter. the scatter ratio determines the amount of distance scatter that can be applied and this is based on the range something is firing.
for example, the german howitzer has a max range of 250, max distance scatter of 18.5 and scatter ratio of .074. if the howitzer is firing at 125 range, the max distance scatter possible at that range is .074*125=9.25. in this case it happens to be half the max scatter at half the max range. its not always that perfect. so scatter ratio just makes distance scatter scale with range just like angle scatter does.
for tank/AT guns, scatter is listed in columns P and Q. these weapons always have the same amount of distance scatter, so no scatter ratio is listed. |
No
what makes you think that? the pak 43 is an AT gun, so im almost positive they do. ill give a definite answer once the patch comes out |
Panzergrenadier G43s have always been another (better, 30 instead of 27 dmg) version of the Grenadier G43. There was no mention of the Grenadier G43 in the patch notes. Maybe they changed it in the game files, maybe they forgot about it. Maybe Woof forgot about it.
Anyways I think it'll get the same treatment sooner or later although them being better at short ranges is kinda required because the other 2 PGrens are shooting their short range SMGs, so you'd have 2 super long range weapons and 2 close range weapons, making the unit kinda schizophrenic.
yep. no mention of it in the change log. i cant check the files until the patch comes out tomorrow, but there should be no changes to pgren g43. like you said, i would expect its damage to change just like all other small arms. |
sheet is updated for the patch tomorrow. also added assault grens and osttruppen dps at ranges and time to kill tables. made a new sheet specifically for the 45mm AT gun and added the new vehicles to other sheets (250 ht is identical to 251 and kv1 is identical to kv8 in terms of how long it takes to kill them. Stug E has its own row).
also fixed a mistake where only 1 set of stats was listed for german bunkers. the bunker built by infantry is actually different than the base bunkers. different stats also means it has a different amount of suppression, so that has been added as well. also related to suppression, ostwind hull mg suppression has been added. it only has suppression with a bulletin, but its numbers are actually surprisingly good (better than m5 quad mgs).
one last unimportant change is i finally got around to adding time to kill tables for AT burst weapons (222, ostwind). still working on the ptrs. the formula isnt perfect yet, but its within a couple seconds right now. none of these are really that important, but well probably see more burst AT weapons in the future, so i thought id get it done. atleast we can now answer the burning question: how long does it take for an upgunned scout car to kill an elefant from the front? the answer: about 9 minutes. |
ive already updated the sheet with the new values. i just hadnt posted about it yet because im trying to add a few new things. you should be able to see the formulas used so you can understand how we got those numbers though. if you have any questions, im sure endeav and i will answer them if we can.
heres the old dps values in case you want to compare them to the new ones:
LMG:
near: 17.098 mid: 11.642 far: 6.186
G43:
near: 8.203 mid: 5.840 far: 3.477 |
the lmg and g43 were changed to have seperate roles it seems. the lmg used to be so good at all ranges, the g43 didnt have much of a role (besides being able to shoot accurately while moving). now the g43 upgrade gives much more long range dps than the lmg does. g43s now do a bit less damage at close range though.
I'm skeptical (as usual).
There are changes to almost all units which leads me to believe that Relic either DIDN'T know what they were doing and massively screwed the gameplay up and this is an admittance of guilt or Relic DOESN'T know what they are doing and is just out to make sweeping changes across the board and hope for the best.
before talking down on relic maybe you should make sure you understand what youre talking about first. 21 of the weapons that were changed had no significant effect. its just continuing the pattern of changing small arms damage to reduce overkill. the actual dps remains unchanged. so relic does know what theyre doing and they didnt make any massive changes in this patch. |
