Thread: Sturm offizer and Panzerfusilier1 Jul 2014, 23:52 PM If anyone's interested: Vanilla fusiliers will lose against rifles at close range, but will win at long range (no surprise here). Upgraded fusiliers will win against single BARed or M1919ed rifle squad at any range. Upgraded fusiliers will win against double BARed or M1919ed rifle squad at close range, but will lose at long range. BARs are really close in damage at short range but have less edge at long range (still are winning pretty significantly there), while M1919s are dominated at short range but dominate at long range. This might be surprising - since when you are facing upgraded Fusiliers, it's best to keep them at range against non smg units. As for vet bonuses - at max vet for each squad, it shouldn't change those results too much. Also, since 90 munitions for OKW is worth no less than 120 munitions for other factions, those match ups might be balanced. In: COH2 Gameplay

In terms of "hard" stats, Panzerfüsilier vet bonuses are only slightly better than those of Rifles. In: COH2 Gameplay

According to what I can find in the game files, Priest has 180 range. The supporting fire ability seems to shoot basically the same type of shells as it's normal attack, so it's not especially effective against infantry (It's much more effective than other pure AT tanks though). As for Jagdtiger vs Elefant... except obvious things like HP or armour difference, it has the same accuracy values like AT guns, not like tanks (so 4%size vs 2.5%size at max range) - which basically makes it 50% better than Elefant at longer ranges. Thread: Patch notes for June 26th, 201427 Jun 2014, 19:36 PM Panzer II: Weapon Penetration changed from 10/15/20 to 15/20/25 The patch seems to be live now, since most of changes are reflected in the game files, but this change isn't in the game right now. Reminds me of someone forgetting to buff Panthers penetration a few patches back... In: Lobby

Actually, it's not entirely true. The German steel quality was about the same through the entire war, with no evidence that supports the late war decline in quality. It is a fact though, that their steel and welding quality had a much greater variance than those of any other major nation in WW2, so while most likely majority of their tanks had at least good armour, there were also a lot of "bad apples" with bad quality armour. My personal comment would also be that I'd suspect the "bad apples" German tanks were better documented in Allied/Soviet tests, since it's more interesting to write about something unexpected (like armour cracking under HE shells) than something expected (thick armour holding off a lot of shells). The frontal armor is 160 compared to 180 of the Ausf G. Some other minor differences - their main gun shoots very slightly slower (very, very slightly), it's slightly slower (6 vs 6.3) but it's MGs are stronger (about 15% to 40%, depending on range). But even a DIRECT hit on a low health squad with an HE shell did NO damage. Whats the point of HE if its not an AOE of damage? Well, according to stats, the only difference between regular and HE shells I can see is that HE has worse penetration (obviously), 50% larger AoE radius and slightly larger scatter distance. So, from the stats it seems good - it doesn't account for any bugs Relic might have in the game though. In: COH2 Gameplay

Since scatter is two-dimensional (by length and by angle), doubling scatter distance in both dimensions QUADRUPLES the area where the shell might fall when firing at infantry. It does both - accuracy is halved and scatter is doubled. Scatter change was made because moving tanks were too effective against infantry (where accuracy doesn't matter anyway). As for stats - accuracy for Shermans is exactly the same as for any other tank gun. 5% * target size at close range and 2,5% * size at max range. In: COH2 Gameplay
